I've got a 97 Dakota 5 speed 4x4 that I got for $1000 as a winter beater. It's got several places with light impact damage, paint is mostly oxidized, and bumpers have rust holes in them. That turd is easy to work on though, and unstoppable in the snow.
As soon as I saw the title, I said "Oh hell yeah, Audi A4 B5." I had one that was lowered and the thing was a TANK through the harsh Montana winters in my area. Absolute beast, never got close to getting stuck, and with a 5MT and a Stage 1 ECU, it was a blast to drive.
