RoTS Anakin was on the verge of becoming unstoppable, His biggest weakness that becomes more apparent in his later encounters with obi wan is his feelings cloud him, particularly his feelings of immense power but also inferiority that the council gave him. He loses 2 notable duels with obi wan, 1 when he becomes shish kebab at the end of RoTS and in the obi wan series, both times obi wan defeats him not with superior strength, power or ability, but by clearing his mind and staying calm and focused, by choosing smart effective attacks. Note how vader throws bolders At obi wan, yet obi wan throws smaller rocks at higher intensity and frequency, a distraction, he then damages vaders life support. it’s never about absolutes with obi wan, it’s about gaining the upper hand or high ground. I know it’s pointed out that Anakin/Vader’s feelings betray him, its a running theme, but you actually see it when he duals obi wan.
Absolutely excellent. This is my favorite scene and duel in Star Wars and you explained it beautifully. Great choices on the still frames, a lot of great images. I really liked the ending also. My man, another home run! 😎🤘🏻
He is aboard in a ship that is in orbit of that planet, he is using his force energy fast, Dooku is simply not used to the immense strikes of anakin's High apm blitz strikes.
Unfortunatly this when the book gets slightly retconned by the TV show, as it clearly shows Dooku was starting to stuggle against Anakin far earlier on.
Personally I think it can still somewhat work if considered Dooku’s assessment of Kenobi and Anakin’s “sloppiness” as more-so meaning how they function as a team rather than their individual skills. It wouldn’t be too far fetched given that Anakin honestly seemed to have a harder time facing Dooku when he was with Obi Wan as shown by their duel at the pikes
@@alecjackman2655 I was more talking about him being surprised about them changing forms, and being some of the greatest masters of those chosen styles, it's not like he's never seen them use soresu or djem-so before, but I do agree that if obi-wan wasn't there dooku might have died then and there.
@@ronanwaring3408 This really doesn't matter, the novelization was made alongside the movie, while the 3D TV show was made many years after, so what makes sense is what the novelization says, not what the 3D TV show says. Honestly I just disregard the 3D TV show The Clone Wars entirely because it created so many plot holes, contradictions and even entire new characters that conflicts with ROTS, and the movies (prequels and originals) are above anything else in Star Wars.
you kind of missed the biggest part of the duel when Anakin was trying to control his fear. Palpatine is the one who said don’t fear what you’re feeling embrace it use your anger to defeat him and that’s when Anakin embrace the darker part of his anger and used it to defeat him… Palpatine giving Anakin permission to kill Dooku was more icing on the cake.
The beauty of removing D down ooku's hands is that Dooku looked down on Anakin for having an artificial hand. He felt he should have learned to fight with his other hand to make up for the loss. In that moment his only option would be artificial hands.
I kinda agree here. When Anakin was conflicted and distracted because he was unsure of whether to kill Dooku, that would have been an excellent opportunity for Dooku to use Force powers to push Anakin away, Force Choke him, push himself back out of range of the sabers, etc. As we see multiple times in the OG from Vader, you don’t need the hand movements to do those Force powers, it’s more for the benefit of the audience. Instead, like Windu, the master dueler panicked with a deer in the headlights look and did nothing to avoid his death in his final moments. Death because the script calls for it.

@Untouchable1345 I see what you're saying. The reason I say age matters is because the force seems to make them able to move in superhuman ways. An example is Yoda without using the force moves like his age. But when we see him fight, it's the complete opposite. Same with quigon when he first fought Darth maul in tattooine. You saw that he was already exhausted after briefly fighting him. I feel like the force can only take you so far in a prolonged fight.

Every battle had consequences in revenge of the sith.

Lightsaber Duels are my favorite subject in SW!
The choreography in ROTS was off the charts. They had a epic fight between Anakin and Dooku drawn up.
Dooku was more than a pawn still disposable in the overall game but still more valuable than a pawn to die prematurely so maybe a bishop
Short answer: He's a better fighter at this point.

Yeah, in the novelization, Dooku could have won easily, but that wasn't what he was supposed to do.

83 according to audio commentary

Dooku lost to Anakin because Anakin's fighting style wore him out.
Lucas never intended history behind duels... it is like-let them fight and the fans will fit the rest😅
Everything is going to the Kaeikaku, the Keikaku of Palpatine XD
Why did this get re-uploaded?
Why do you think Boner Boy? 😮🖕🏾
Because he learned from his mistakes in episode 2. Saved you 10 minutes.
Because he says I sense fear in you you have hate fear & Anger but you don't use it, then he used it The end
What if Mace Windu and Yoda went to save Palpatine and confront Dooku? Anakin and Obi Wan protect Corascant.

easy answer. Palpatine ordered Dooku to go "lite" on Skywalker.
