I remember reading the "Little House" books when I was a kid ... Many years later on our way to Yellowstone , I stumbled into S Dakota & started seeing Laura Ingals Homestead signs ... We spent the next 7 days touring S Dakota .. Amazing place ! The prairies were nothing I had seen coming from Tenn , then add in the Badlands, & the Black Hills & I think S Dakota is well worth the trip... Oh yea, and we saw a sod house in the Bad Lands Nat Park....
