I grew up in the '70s and '80s. Such a magical and fun time. I started to absolutely love reading because of Judy Blume. Can't wait to see the movies! I am so happy she's doing so well! ❤️ God Bless Her❤️🙏
I read this in 6th grade, 20 years ago. It was recommended to my by my then 30 year old neighbor, who also read it as an adolescent. It transcends generations. I can't wait to share it with my own daughter someday.
Read this book nearly 50 years ago. It is one of my favorite books of all time😊..... and.... WOW! She is a really young looking 85. I thought she was going to say she was 60! But how could she be.... I'm turning 60, lol!
I can't believe how vibrant and youthful she is for 85. I was thinking I'm getting up there in years. I was like, "What did she do, write the book when she was 10?"
I should re-read this book. It's been a long time since elementary school. So glad to see it's finally a movie and that Judy Blume is doing well. God Bless her!!
Please don't wait to see this movie, it was absolutely amazing! Funny, sad, a little bit mixed in between, just well done acting and well done all the way around!
Books like these are a perfect fit for film. They are short, simple stories. You don't need to do an entire miniseries to cover the story like you have to with adult novels. I'm looking forward to the film.
Cheers for Judy Blume! Had her Smart Women book (which I snuck off my mom's book shelf as a pre-teen) not had sizzling romance, personal discovery, and the women-can-be-smart-and-strong attitude, too, I may never have wanted to read another book in my life, or become a fierce entrepreneur, or found the curiosity to explore and find that relationships really could end up to be positive! Long live sweet stories of hope - and Judy Blume!
Omg guys can I just say I smiled through out this video ❤ I loved loved Judy Blume growing up! I can't wait for Summer Sisters to come out - 20 yrs on I still have the book right next to my bed stand!
I love Mrs. Judy blue I read mostly all her books brings back memories fudge and his finger sucking and Peter and Sheila the great makes me fill like I'm in the 80s again can't wait to watch movie are you there God..
Read parts of the Fudge books and "Frindle" in school, read "Forever..." several times. But never read "Are You There, God?..." Heard about it a lot I read that the movie is not exactly set in the 1970s, but the "little things" throughout the trailer (Sharon Tate picture, the teacher's clothes, the laundry basket) sure seem different
I had the original book and read it over and over again. I don't watch TODAY, but the woman in red talks way too much over Judy. Really awesome seeing Judy Blume and hopefully movie will do the book justice.
I was not a reader as a kid. The only books I would actually enjoy reading was her books. I remember reading a book all weekend. No other books I enjoyed as a kid.
I remembered it then movie 🍿 especially when one of the girls trying to shave her legs, especially on the girls trying to wear pantyhose and especially other stuff seeing the girls grow up. Jennydebrier
The original book audience isn't going to like a lot of changes to the storyline. It's already difficult to make a beloved childhood book into a movie (e.g., A Wrinkle in Time). People are going to be angry if they ignore major themes in the book to focus on Margaret's mom. Her story line was her Christian parents and how they wouldn't accept her Jewish husband. If they're too afraid of that storyline today they never should have made the movie.
Jenna “no undies,” Bush: “she has God, “him or her,” to speak to!” Thank God, when we were kids we had Judy Blume, a Jew, who gave us the real God, the God of the Jews, and the world, not this “him or her,” crap. Judy ought to write another book, with Margaret called “God help us with all our corrupt politicians and political families.” Just think, two million people are dead cause Jenna’s DaDa knew so well, “what God wanted.” And now here’s Jenna with the “sacrilege, backralidge wacky dacky hackralidge!” Shouldn’t PaPa have to knock her off too?
girls flapping their arms and shouting, WE MUST WE MUST WE MUST INCREASE OUR BUST! was always pathetic to me, I hated this book so much when i was a kid.
She looks and sounds amazing for 85. I remember reading the 4th grade nothing and I loved it.
I lost my mother last year at 81 and my father at 82. Too young. I love to see people still rockin' out in their 80s and 90s.

I hope they don't change the story too much. The book was iconic. And my favorite as a young girl.

Ok, THIS woman is a National Treasure and a Living LEGEND. Many people in the last few decades are familiar with her work. Protect her at all costs!
I read this book as a child. Exciting to see it made into a movie.
Looking forward to seeing this with my daughter. 🙂
It's about time they are making this book into a movie.
Superfudge started my 35 year obsession with Judy Blume❤❤

Smart Women is my favorite.
This book and "Starring Sally J Freedman" were my favorites, but her writing was formative to my worldview
I have been reading Summer Sisters, well rereading it for the last month. Ready for it to come to the big screen
Omg guys can I just say I smiled through out this video ❤ I loved loved Judy Blume growing up! I can't wait for Summer Sisters to come out - 20 yrs on I still have the book right next to my bed stand!

Hard to believe they didn't make this into a movie earlier and it's just becoming a movie now
That book was a right of passage.

The movie is set in the '70s.
The movie is just like the 1970’s, one or two things might be different
JUDE BLUME IS THE BEST
I had the original book and read it over and over again. I don't watch TODAY, but the woman in red talks way too much over Judy. Really awesome seeing Judy Blume and hopefully movie will do the book justice.

Was there a book like this for Boys...
Yes. It's titled, "Then Again, Maybe I Won't"
I remembered it then movie 🍿 especially when one of the girls trying to shave her legs, especially on the girls trying to wear pantyhose and especially other stuff seeing the girls grow up. Jennydebrier

It's not a him or her Ms Jenna, it's him.
If she’s 85, they shouldn’t be blowing on her cake 🙄😱
Now this my fav book growing up, but why she say her as G-d. Y'all tried it! And yes that's my two cents and that my business.
Why are you so wound up???
@@mindygooding9458 that's my business that's why.
Young adult to pre-teen ... Not sure why the narration equated these two things.

🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏💓💓💓💓
Those other two look like monsters next to Judy Blume. Look when they all stand up! 🤦♀️
sure didn't give much info on the movie...weak interview
Then again, maybe I won't
