For my first playthrough, I had no idea to look at the dragon claws to get the codes for the doors. I just bruteforced the sequence by changing one at a time.
My first time in bleakfalls in the room with the dragon claw, I legit studied the art on the walls for like 10mins searching for clues because there were like wolves and dragons on there too so I was sure the solution to opening the doors was on these walls but I just couldn‘t figure out how to solve the puzzle. I checked their order, the distance to the door, the amount of paintings with the same creature on it and a bunch of other things. Eventually I gave up and watched a video on how to open the door. Then after I learned that you just need to look at the claw…In that moment I realized I was completely overthinking that puzzle. I guess that‘s on me though for playing a (at the time) 11 year old game and expecting the same complexity as in newer titles. Funny enough, something about this simplicity in the game‘s design made the experience even more enjoyable and relaxing and now here I am approaching the 2000hour mark very soon
Meanwhile when I played Fallout 4 for the first time it took me 20 solid minutes before I figured out the Password for the Railroad. The entire time I was thinking "There's no way the secret spy society has their name be their password.".
@ oh ok…I have tried to keep most of Skyrim vanilla, but I did add ‘Hold Banners’ and ‘Lampposts of Skyrim’ to help me with wandering…the only environmental mod I added is Obsidian Weather, which makes the night sky look more realistic to me… the only drawback from that particular mod is there are torrential rainstorms off and on…I play on the PS4, so my mod choices are pretty limited, so I am glad for the 58 mods I have ☺️🥰😉
I legit spent 4 hours trying to figure out why the new combat animations weren't working properly. ... I was running the Nemesis in my mods directory when I should have run it in the data directory.
Sure, if you play the game completely unmodded without even the command console. Yeah, I guess Stealth Archer was a thing back at the start. Then I found *setav DestructionPowerMod 500*, and suddenly Fireballs were viable again.
I got mad like a drug addict without next dose when my cart started to stuck with no solution... then the withdrawal period ended and I came to my senses and played other games.. Skyrim is like a crack, you just don't abandon it without severe consequences for your mind.
Skyrim is an eternal guilded prison that keeps its hooks in your flesh with endless promises of screaming people to death and cool stealth archer third person camera kills. Now a life without Skyrim is the absence of life itself. Just how much of my soul does Bethesda own at this point? I truly don't know anymore.
Got few hundreds of hours in Skyrim, told myself “Nah I won’t be an addict” and it works! I’m playing a different game now called Elder Scrolls Online. Funnily, this game looks like Skyrim! It even has Skyrim map! Wait…
I really need to point this out: Screaming people to death and Stealth Archer are both unmodded Vanilla Skyrim things. Hell, they're Skyrim-on-Consoles things. Like the appeal of Fus-Ro-Dah only lasts until the first time you realise that it takes about 100 casts just to kill a weak enemy with it... like you're ragdolling them but you just aren't damaging them. And Stealth Archer only lasts until you figure out *setav DestructionPowerMod 500* in the command console... i.e. make Destruction magic less underpowered. Suddenly archery is for chumps and Fireball takes its spot on the god-throne where it belongs. The memes say a lot about the ones who make them: They're the people who have maybe 20 hours in Skyrim at most and probably played it on Switch or something. The real addicts... they're the ones who always go straight to Riften, get Gloves of the Pugilist, Disenchant, do the Restoration Potion loop and make the Ring of One Punch, then grab a wooden plate and backdoor into Labyrinthian to get the Slow Time word. You know how it goes.
My first time playing Skyrim, I realized immediately that I needed to check the palm of the Golden Claw, because that hint in the journal seemed pretty intuitive to me, though I did need a friend to tell me how to get the close-up view and rotate the claw. As for the Stealth Archer stuff, I did that for awhile, but I've broken away from it. Now I play either a stealth mage or with certain mods a non-stealth mage blasting everything away before it's a threat (the Arcane Accessories spells are game-breaking WITHOUT magic scaling mods, much less with them). At least, up until I start crafting super Potions of Fortify Destruction. Then I just step into a dungeon and everything dies to my Flame Cloak spell with a radius of three Skyrims (I'm only slightly exaggerating).
Is it sad that I can do about half the claw doors from memory now? Like muscle memory. I couldn't tell you the combinations, but when I'm looking at the door, I just sorta know how many clicks to use on each wheel. I think Bleak Falls Barrow was two clicks each wheel.... but I might be mixing that up with another.
I wasn't the one playing when i first found the door, But understood the hint has to be some hand drawn on a wall nearby or the claw, But since i didn't knew you could look at your stuff i didn't get how could you know what's on the claw, until the one playing began rotating stuff out of boredom and the answer arrived Also i found hilarious how he explained the main story to me and my understanding and the actual quest were very different. For example he didn't told me alduin was a dragon, so i assumed he had to be some sort of stereotypical evil wizard using necromancy 😂
Did anyone actually do that? I mean everyone just ignores the warnings, keeps adding mods to ongoing playthroughs until they become unplayable... THEN start over... right?
You know, if you ask me, there’s a more entertaining way to do Archery that doesn’t require stealth. Being a melee archer is exciting. Also, I find using archery to thin out people from a range then swapping into melee or magic much more engaging. If you do want to do stealth archery but don’t want to get bored by killing things too fast, don’t get any of the crit or damage multipliers in stealth or archery. Just go for the basic damage buffs. You’ll still deal decent damage without being op.
Simply taking the Archery and Stealth perks isn't OP. Like you haven't even begun to be OP until you've maxed out Blacksmithing, Alchemy and Enchanting and have a Bow that will Absorb all of a level 50 Elder Dragon's health and Paralyse it in a single shot. Honestly, one of the main reason I almost exclusively play a Destruction Mage is because Skyrim's enchanting / alchemy / smithing shenanigans make it way WAY too easy to make any weapon grotesquely overpowered.
5 stages of morrowind player: 1. missing the limeware platter 2. stealing the limeware platter unsuccessfully 3. stealing the limeware platter successfully 4. modding the limeware platter out/nerfing it 5. ignoring the limeware patter
I remember the first time I played Skyrim at a friend's house I just went and followed quests up to bleak falls and ran that dungeon. I distinctively remember though getting to the puzzle door and without hesitation or even knowing I opened up to my items and looked at the claw and opened the door. And IMMEDIATELY my friend bolted up from her bed not knowing she could do that and booted me off the game so she could go do it on her game.
I'm probably one if few people on planet who found out about stealth archer meme through internet and not through gameplay probably because I autistically played a pure mage character every single walkthrough prior.

Used a sword and shield and got tired of dying all the time or being sent over the moon by giants. Used magic and that was great until I ran out of magicka and died. Picked up a bow and sniped them all before they even figured out where I was hiding. Say now, this is nice...
Like I said, there comes a time in every man's Skyrim life when they put down the Bow and start reflexively playing Khajiit who run immediately to Riften to get the Gloves of the Pugilist.
Honest truth.... Skyrim VR. Stealth Magick mod. Ice Spear spell. There is no feeling so fulfilling as sniping with Ice Spear and getting a perfect headshot from maximum render distance on a moving target. Or my absolute favourite trick-shot: Firing an Ice Spear right as I activate Slow Time, then outrunning the projectile, grabbing the target and bodily pulling them INTO the path of the spear just as Slow Time wears off. Honestly I just love doing trick-shots.
So damn accurate the first time I encountered the puzzle it took me a lot of thinking and I gave up and tried to look into the item inventory to see if there's something wrong with it and I found out that the answer is in the goddamn claw itself lol

I've never done a stealth archer character before. I tried to once but i wanted to use bound bow because then I'd always have ammo and i ended up as a vampire mage
Played the Stealth Archer to death, now I play Hulk...big strong Orc with a great big sword. Run in and hit them. If that doesn't work, hit them again, only more harder....aka Berserk Mode.

Literally only used stealth archer because I needed it for Wintersun. Boethia and Mephala really love it when you kill people with sneak attacks.
I don’t get stuck with the stealth archer curse, I install mods to make combat archery more viable.
Would you believe me if I told you that I've never did a stealthy archer run? I also completed Skyrim without weapons.
The first quest I got it without find a clue because a Skyrim gameplay review trailer show the clue before the game release lol
Усик, там Усик, офігіти, не думав, що цей мем відомий поза Україною, щира повага!
Я теж прифігів 😆
I've played Skyrim for months now and still haven't finished the darn game.
Modding isn't a stage, it's a full blown lifestyle choice.
Once you MOD, you will likely never see the start cutscene again.
I've never done a stealth archer character before. I tried to once but i wanted to use bound bow because then I'd always have ammo and i ended up as a vampire mage
Thank goodness console commands exist to break the stealth archer curse.
Played the Stealth Archer to death, now I play Hulk...big strong Orc with a great big sword. Run in and hit them. If that doesn't work, hit them again, only more harder....aka Berserk Mode.
I am actually one of those gamers who watch walkthroughs for help when playing a game. So, my experience too wasn't awkward compared to others.
1:40 BULLSHIT! I've done entire runs without even TOUCHING a bow
0:40 question, am i the only one that noticed that every (or almost) riddle like those can be solved by turning each piece of that dam circle two times ?
A point of minor pride for me is that I have yet to play a stealth archer in 5 years of owning the game. My main build is typically greatswords with heavy armor and smithing, real dwarven lifestyle.
Did you get the Dawi mod as well? Actual dwarves!
Also, how do you kill dragons? (you dont)
Is that a Dungeon Keeper chicken? Looks like a Dungeon Keeper chicken, now with more pixels.
