For my first playthrough, I had no idea to look at the dragon claws to get the codes for the doors. I just bruteforced the sequence by changing one at a time.
Same here
@@Copperkaiju TLDR :D
My first time in bleakfalls in the room with the dragon claw, I legit studied the art on the walls for like 10mins searching for clues because there were like wolves and dragons on there too so I was sure the solution to opening the doors was on these walls but I just couldn‘t figure out how to solve the puzzle.
I checked their order, the distance to the door, the amount of paintings with the same creature on it and a bunch of other things.
Eventually I gave up and watched a video on how to open the door.
Then after I learned that you just need to look at the claw…In that moment I realized I was completely overthinking that puzzle. I guess that‘s on me though for playing a (at the time) 11 year old game and expecting the same complexity as in newer titles.
Funny enough, something about this simplicity in the game‘s design made the experience even more enjoyable and relaxing and now here I am approaching the 2000hour mark very soon
Meanwhile when I played Fallout 4 for the first time it took me 20 solid minutes before I figured out the Password for the Railroad. The entire time I was thinking "There's no way the secret spy society has their name be their password.".
i only learned that when i achieved one of them and i think it was showing the code part in the inventory or it popped up on the side the code was at

You haven't truly played Skyrim until the cart gets stuck in the intro.
I got mad like a drug addict without next dose when my cart started to stuck with no solution... then the withdrawal period ended and I came to my senses and played other games.. Skyrim is like a crack, you just don't abandon it without severe consequences for your mind.
Wait it can do that
Or used console commands to progress a quest that got absolutely fucked by one of your 100+ mods. If you knew which one that was you could just deactivate it. But you don't. And even if you did you're not doing it because you're afraid it might topple the fragile construct of load order and dependencies that is your mod list. You just got it to work after what fealt like an eternity afterall, whilst still not actually knowing why it didn't work before or why it does now.

my dunmer stealth archmage disagree
Skyrim is an eternal guilded prison that keeps its hooks in your flesh with endless promises of screaming people to death and cool stealth archer third person camera kills. Now a life without Skyrim is the absence of life itself. Just how much of my soul does Bethesda own at this point? I truly don't know anymore.
Got few hundreds of hours in Skyrim, told myself “Nah I won’t be an addict” and it works!
I’m playing a different game now called Elder Scrolls Online. Funnily, this game looks like Skyrim! It even has Skyrim map!
Wait…
I don't feel like that with skyrim, now new vegas though? that is my guilded prison.
@@The-Game-Merchant 🤣🤣🤣
Gilded?
I really need to point this out: Screaming people to death and Stealth Archer are both unmodded Vanilla Skyrim things. Hell, they're Skyrim-on-Consoles things.
Like the appeal of Fus-Ro-Dah only lasts until the first time you realise that it takes about 100 casts just to kill a weak enemy with it... like you're ragdolling them but you just aren't damaging them. And Stealth Archer only lasts until you figure out *setav DestructionPowerMod 500* in the command console... i.e. make Destruction magic less underpowered. Suddenly archery is for chumps and Fireball takes its spot on the god-throne where it belongs. The memes say a lot about the ones who make them: They're the people who have maybe 20 hours in Skyrim at most and probably played it on Switch or something.
The real addicts... they're the ones who always go straight to Riften, get Gloves of the Pugilist, Disenchant, do the Restoration Potion loop and make the Ring of One Punch, then grab a wooden plate and backdoor into Labyrinthian to get the Slow Time word. You know how it goes.
I'm glad I'm not stuck in the archer build curse, now let me get back to my Breton lighting mage build for the 47th time
No other entity is allowed to have magicka in combat besides myself, chain lightning has spoken.
@@tylerstone107oh ? Are you approaching me ?

I do like the much-needed buff to Destruction AE provides with the creation content that recreates the old spelltomes plugin from Oblivion. i love throwing Elementan Burst at everything, I delete stuff pretty quickly due to how that spell type benefits from buffing all three elements in the Destruction perk tree. I've also managed to avoid the stealth archer trap this playthrough by only using the bound quiver power (basically works like bound bow, minus the bow so you can use the "free" 100-ish mystic arrows with any type of bow you like, also another creation via the AE) or occasionally swapping to a crossbow for some Dawnguard RP thanks to the AE creations providing crossbows for each "type" of gear, rather than just Steel and Dwemer. Also decided to main two-handed weapons for once, with one-handed as backup (something I never really have done alot in all my TES years since my introduction to the series with Oblivion) and it's really fun! Now i can just run in, throw elemental bursts and swing greatswords everywhere and only need to swap to conjured arrows for those annoying high-level dragons that like cheating and get a free kill-cam on you as soon as your HP drops a little. Last time I played before my current playthru was in the late 2010's before the anniversary edition, and back then I decided to break the mold of stealth archer Nord fighter with a breton vampire nightblade/mage/summoner hybrid. It was really fun, but sure could have used the elemental burst spells back then, because I noticed that at higher levels on higher difficulty, the vanilla game destruction spells available to the player quickly falls behind any kind of offensive magics used by NPC enemies...
@@tylerstone107 Me, I love using maxed out alteration together with the atronach stone, so when these mages start tickling me with their spells I just laugh "Yes, more, give me more magicka!" *throws more explosive elemental bursts everywhere*.

I was a sneak archer on the PS3, PS4, and now pc, but it gets boring after a while. I'm now planning on making 3 warrior characters. I've already made a swords only dual wield female Breton with the occasional destruction spell. My other warrior is gonna be a 2 handed male Nord, and the other warrior is gonna be a male Imperial or Redguard using an axe/mace with shield.

Because I'm a *mage* stealth archer. (uses bound bow) 😂

“Starts new playthrough” how about for fun I PLAY ANYTHING OTHER THAN STEALTH ARCHER! Oh, it’s the bear.
I remember the first time I played Skyrim at a friend's house I just went and followed quests up to bleak falls and ran that dungeon. I distinctively remember though getting to the puzzle door and without hesitation or even knowing I opened up to my items and looked at the claw and opened the door. And IMMEDIATELY my friend bolted up from her bed not knowing she could do that and booted me off the game so she could go do it on her game.
Lmfaoo the padme meme😂
"Im not gonna be stealth archer, Im not gonna be stealth archer, Im not gonna be stealth archer...."

You haven’t truly played when you realize you could literally destroy this whole entire world and everybody in it but Skyrim treats you as if your an nobody or a servant 😭😭😂😂
I'm probably one if few people on planet who found out about stealth archer meme through internet and not through gameplay probably because I autistically played a pure mage character every single walkthrough prior.
We're kinda in the same boat. That's also how I've learned the existence of stealth archery.
But that was a "no" for me, I've always went for a balanced build in terms of offense (Spellsword, and 2H Spellsword back in the CGO/SkySA era).
Never could leave my trusty swords and fire spells behind.
I'm the other side of the coin
Used it for a long time, never realized people hated on it until i found Skyrim memes
The other side of the coin to Stealth Archer is going all in on daggers for the sneak attack damage. It's essentially the melee equivalent.
My first time playing Skyrim, I realized immediately that I needed to check the palm of the Golden Claw, because that hint in the journal seemed pretty intuitive to me, though I did need a friend to tell me how to get the close-up view and rotate the claw.
As for the Stealth Archer stuff, I did that for awhile, but I've broken away from it. Now I play either a stealth mage or with certain mods a non-stealth mage blasting everything away before it's a threat (the Arcane Accessories spells are game-breaking WITHOUT magic scaling mods, much less with them). At least, up until I start crafting super Potions of Fortify Destruction. Then I just step into a dungeon and everything dies to my Flame Cloak spell with a radius of three Skyrims (I'm only slightly exaggerating).
Is it sad that I can do about half the claw doors from memory now?
Like muscle memory. I couldn't tell you the combinations, but when I'm looking at the door, I just sorta know how many clicks to use on each wheel.
I think Bleak Falls Barrow was two clicks each wheel.... but I might be mixing that up with another.
I wasn't the one playing when i first found the door, But understood the hint has to be some hand drawn on a wall nearby or the claw, But since i didn't knew you could look at your stuff i didn't get how could you know what's on the claw, until the one playing began rotating stuff out of boredom and the answer arrived
Also i found hilarious how he explained the main story to me and my understanding and the actual quest were very different. For example he didn't told me alduin was a dragon, so i assumed he had to be some sort of stereotypical evil wizard using necromancy 😂
Don’t forget finding a new mod and having to start back to the beginning, every. Damn. Time.
Did anyone actually do that?
I mean everyone just ignores the warnings, keeps adding mods to ongoing playthroughs until they become unplayable... THEN start over... right?
@
I don’t know if anyone else has, but I definitely have.

“This mod requires a fresh start”
Well shit, here we go again
In my first playthrough, I thought the Companions questline was the main quest and played through all of it, then getting sidetracked into becoming the archmage and the new leader of the thieves guild until finally becoming dragonborn...
You know, if you ask me, there’s a more entertaining way to do Archery that doesn’t require stealth. Being a melee archer is exciting. Also, I find using archery to thin out people from a range then swapping into melee or magic much more engaging.
If you do want to do stealth archery but don’t want to get bored by killing things too fast, don’t get any of the crit or damage multipliers in stealth or archery. Just go for the basic damage buffs. You’ll still deal decent damage without being op.
Simply taking the Archery and Stealth perks isn't OP. Like you haven't even begun to be OP until you've maxed out Blacksmithing, Alchemy and Enchanting and have a Bow that will Absorb all of a level 50 Elder Dragon's health and Paralyse it in a single shot.
Honestly, one of the main reason I almost exclusively play a Destruction Mage is because Skyrim's enchanting / alchemy / smithing shenanigans make it way WAY too easy to make any weapon grotesquely overpowered.
Normally i use the bow for the 1st kill, then charge like a berserker
In normal games sure, but Skyrim combat is sooo incredibly dated that it's miserable using a bow in general unless the target is standing still. That doubles for when enemies are right in front of you and you are trying to take them out quickly before they can do you in. Bethesda basically added nothing really to encourage other ways to play with a bow. I'm forced to use a mod that has perks to slow down time by a bunch, increase draw speed, increase damage for either long range or short range shots, increase damage to the target after bow bashing them first, make arrows go faster, make the auto aim system less terrible and buggy. All these are from mods, they didn't think to do any of this in the base game.
The chicken did not hire thugs to kill you?
"Screw it, I'm getting the lewd mods."
SSE or AE with lewd mods is where it starts.
Skyrim VR with lewd mods is the playground of the truly refined.
Reject stealth archery, embrace unarmed badass.
Like I said, there comes a time in every man's Skyrim life when they put down the Bow and start reflexively playing Khajiit who run immediately to Riften to get the Gloves of the Pugilist.
Unfortunate that Bethesda didn't want you to play an unarmed build. If they did they would have added a god d___ skill tree for it 😒

Those who go stealth archery, are those who lack dedication to play differently.
Honest truth.... Skyrim VR. Stealth Magick mod. Ice Spear spell. There is no feeling so fulfilling as sniping with Ice Spear and getting a perfect headshot from maximum render distance on a moving target. Or my absolute favourite trick-shot: Firing an Ice Spear right as I activate Slow Time, then outrunning the projectile, grabbing the target and bodily pulling them INTO the path of the spear just as Slow Time wears off. Honestly I just love doing trick-shots.
I'm happy to say that I'm a proud arc mage with actual sizeable mana pool in this second playthrough instead of the first time as heavy armor archer with mana that can only use fast healing twice.

@justinparker9892 too long? Isn't that a skill or build issue? Even on wildlander it was quick and relatively easy
Really the only thing I hate is the voice. It's too loud & the pauses in between are too long. Like, you done speaking or is there more? Lol but yes, I do like dawnbreaker as well
The reason so many skyrim players hate it, is because it always pops up at annoying times and will keep popping up in chests until you A. Just pick it up or B. Accidently pick it up

More like 10 stages to becoming a stealth archer.
12 years playing Skyrim and proud to report I have never once played a stealth archer.
It was my second character, back in 2010. I don't think it was even a meme at the time, I just chose it because it would be an easy way to get leather for the forge. It's super fun with the perks, but it's like playing a sneak sniper in Fallout, you kind of break the game, abusing the bad AI a lot. 15 years later I'm back, now with a two-handed build. Since my first character was a sword and shield, I can say that I've never played a mage.
