Patriot systems stop them. Once the missiles hit them they don’t go any further however I have a feeling that’s not how the Patriot is supposed to work seems a bit dumb really but I’m no expert and it might be worth while emailing Lloyd Austin for clarification!
It comes in at something like mach-10, sheathed in plasma that absorbs radar and electronic signals, and by definition a hypersonic missile is meanwhile able to jink about in random pattern so a relatively slow Patriot missile can't anticipate where the Iskander will be from one second to the next. Lockheed in desperation built PAC-3 missiles for patriot that forgo a warhead in hope they'd be fast and agile enough for body-to-body collision, but no dice yet against a hypersonic of _any_ country.
Not every AA is made for all air targets, and we don´t know what else Russia had in the air to distract the patriot staff. I also wouldn't underestimate modern Chaff (not flares) to irritate Radar ground crews. Turkey tested theirs once on a French battleship, and the French crew was actually quite frightened because they had so many pins on the radar, but no real targets. On which real target are you gonna shot in the next seconds? That must be a quite chaotic situation, while a real Bomb will arrive in the next minute or so.
The media is still acting like the tiny front line in Kursk that Ukraine made somehow deletes the last 3 years of losing territory in southern Ukraine. Im so confused, it seems like a terrible idea to open another front line if you are losing on the current one. I just hope we find a way to peace.
NATO thought that they would use their favorite tactic " Dynamic Warfare" and Russia set them up for it by weakening their border and drawing them in to the attack on open ground and then counter with everything to destroy their army and exhausting their weapons. Ukraine will sacrifice about 1000 men more by leaving them spread throughout the country side to fend for themself.

Territory is not important though, except if it's strategic. For example if you cut of logistic hubs or important roads. Ukraine doing Kursk, and losing so many men and equipment, must be the worst idea by Zelensky so far.
@@yannheurtault8373 what cope? I look at twitter, all I see is destroyed Nato equipment in Kursk. And that one Wagner column that got ambushed by HIMARS. Also, I am from Croatia, not really invested into this conflict. I don't need to cope.
Can’t deny the Ukrainians have captured territory as well, especially when thinly defended by the Russian forces - territory is still being retaken today at the cost of men and materiel. However Russia is taking strategically important territory while also forcing aggressive attrition upon Ukraine, exploiting the western obsession about territory. Taking ground makes for excellent propaganda, but grinding down your enemy’s troops, materiel and logistics wins wars. Although the Russians are not winning the information war, certainly not in the western, it is steadily demilitarizing Ukraine and NATO, it is steadily reducing the Ukrainian military manpower, it is building alliances with the global majority, strategic partnerships with major independent states, proving to have a resilient economy, while also maintaining high military production - it seems to be outproducing the west by a wide margin. So again, while Russia may be suffering loss of territory - including now old Russia - losing the propaganda war in the west, it is still doing what it has been doing effectively for a couple of years, winning by attrition and keeping its own losses in manpower relatively low. This Ukrainian offensive in Kursk is ultimately counterproductive as it increases Ukrainian losses, but will NOT bring much relief on other fronts NOR will it result in more bargaining power. If anything it will make the Russians more determined to secure their long term security interests. If anything this offensive brings the destiny of country 404 closer than ever.
This can´t be true! German media is giving me the "feeling" that Russia already lost! They have nothing left, and fighting with shovels and washing machine chips And KURSK, Ukraine won in KURSK!! xD I´m laughing but the poor Ukrainians fell into the same trap, as all the other "partners" of the "western" world.

Territorial gains made by Ukraine will be good talking points at this weeks Democratic National Convention this week in Chicago. That’s probably why they did this Kursk invasion. It’s all about the pr for these people. People will believe Ukraine is “winning “ and need continued support. Probably going to hint at nato troops. They’ll say “if Ukraine can do take this much land this easily with this small of troops we can help them out with our support troops “.
While Russia gains territory fighting the AFU, Ukraine gains territory fighting against civilians. I bet a significant number of NATO troops lost their lives manning those Patriot batteries.
There are no NATO soldiers in Ukraine or Kursk. And in Kursk the Russians send conscripts to fight with Ukrainian soldiers. This Russian army is pathetic.
Ukraine is not a subject, but object. They do only what NATO said. At final point they will be erased and nobody cared about that of course. Anyone cared about Indians in America? Otherwise, US officially said that UA must to reduce conscription age to 18yo (to preserve ability to fight until 2030). Moreover, they also now discuss about conscription age of 16yo, because with such age they will preserve ability to fight until 2040s.
Update on the conflict in Ukraine for August 19, 2024… - As Ukrainian forces continue military operations in Kursk, Russia, the actual line of contact continues to crumble as Russian forces advance; - Ukrainian progress in Kursk was due to a lack of Russian troops which are now flooding the area to contain and then roll back Ukrainian troops; - Russian advances along the line of contact consists of overtaking extensive Ukrainian defensive positions; - The Kursk incursion will raise the cost for Russia, but ultimately will accelerate the collapse of Ukraine’s own fighting capacity; - US JASSM cruise missiles are being considered for Ukraine, a critical munition required for any future operation against China and a munition that is not produced in quantities equal or larger than even Russian-made cruise missiles; - JASSMs are air-launched, meaning their use will be restricted by Ukraine’s small number of military aircraft capable of launching them; - The New Atlas

MILITARY TUBE TODAY - In just one day, several Ukrainian air defense systems most of which were supplied by NATO, were reduced to dust after the arrival of Russian missile packages, the Russian Defense Ministry summarized and released footage on August 17, 2024. In the first episode, the crew of the Ukrainian air defense system moves the S-125 Pechora-2D to Ryabina in the Sumy region. It is unclear where Ukraine got the rare system that modernized by Poland, but there is a complete launch system here. The S-125 was intended to counter Russian aircraft, but the Russian Su-34 tactical bomber was more powerful and dealt a crushing blow. It was a very precise hit by the Kh-35 guided missile, which destroyed the military hardware. In the same region, the German-made IRIS-T air defense system vehicle, at a prepared combat position in the area of the Sennoye settlement, as well detected by Russian UAV operator. The video shows the destruction of the system, after the reconnaissance drone called the crew of the Iskander-M operational tactical missile system to launch an attack. Objective control data confirm the involvement of IRIS-T and Ukrainian personnel servicing the combat vehicles of the complex. The hardware, with the aim of shooting down aircraft carrying out strikes on deep locations, is now facing a very bad day. In the Dnepropetrovsk region, Russian reconnaissance units discovered the positions of the American Patriot air defense system battalion near Lyubomovka. Iskander-M missiles once again did their job, launching a strike on the discovered positions. As a result, each system consisting of two Patriot SAM launchers and one AN/MPQ-65 radar station was destroyed. Meanwhile, another Patriot system was hit by cluster submunitions from Iskander missiles near Zhelobok, the distance to the front line is about 130 km. The zone of special military operations has changed dramatically, Ukraine and the Western countries have suffered billions of dollars in losses, having lost a large number of air defense systems, and will not be able to restore their combat capability after these losses in the near future. - Military Tube Today

The problem is it is a valueless attack a publicity stunt. The border Kursk region had very few defenses, no factories, big cities or mineral wealth. At the same time over the last 2 weeks the Russians took 300 kilometers of highly valued industrial zones, natural gas oil and precious metals. It was critical that Russia did not take the bait.
Newsworthy: Today, Germany decided not to spend more money on Ukraine's military support for the next year. One available IRIS-T system will be held back and not sent.

Kursk is becoming a NATO equipment horror show. It appears the NATO army of 2024 has far more IFVs/APCs than their 2023 army. My guess is this reflects the infantry heavy tactics both sides went to in 2023 once the FPV drone became so numerous. RU seems to still prefer tank led assault by using Tsars Grill to diminish the drone threat. If my guess is right, I can see why Syrsky did not send this new army to the Donbass to try to check RU advance because such a mobility heavy force would be ineffective as a defensive force there.

"even" the Patriot? The Patriot's a load of shite lol

Ukraine Captures good moments on social media, Russia captures actual Territory

- Russian advances along the line of contact consists of overtaking extensive Ukrainian defensive positions;
- The Kursk incursion will raise the cost for Russia, but ultimately will accelerate the collapse of Ukraine’s own fighting capacity;
- US JASSM cruise missiles are being considered for Ukraine, a critical munition required for any future operation against China and a munition that is not produced in quantities equal or larger than even Russian-made cruise missiles;
- JASSMs are air-launched, meaning their use will be restricted by Ukraine’s small number of military aircraft capable of launching them; - The New Atlas

Na hoffentlich!!!
No way the German that smart. They're thick as brick.
We just delay the new Support.
@@SamanthaBendutI agree.Germany,send your systems,the Ukrainians need them,do not mess this stuff up.
Spassibas, Putin, Spassibas.
Are the Azov p-ssies fighting on the front or shooting their own as usual?
Probably shooting their own and threatening the government. Their Das Reich shield icon hardly ever moves.
They don't take orders from Sirsky or Selensky.

Ukraines step over dollars to pick up pennies.
..I don't understand?! what good are all those CIS collective defense treaties, with China < N. KOREA, Iran, Syria, if even now when Mother Russia is attacked by fascists and crying no one intervenes to help her with troops?? Russsia helped and helps everyone, who helps Mama Russia when she cries and suffers??
Kursk is becoming a NATO equipment horror show. It appears the NATO army of 2024 has far more IFVs/APCs than their 2023 army. My guess is this reflects the infantry heavy tactics both sides went to in 2023 once the FPV drone became so numerous. RU seems to still prefer tank led assault by using Tsars Grill to diminish the drone threat. If my guess is right, I can see why Syrsky did not send this new army to the Donbass to try to check RU advance because such a mobility heavy force would be ineffective as a defensive force there.
Go Russia go we love you all
Bro, you are relentless, sooooooooooooooo much work. More than anyone else I've seen. Thank you from the heart for all the work you put in.
Spasibo brat
Russia is moving twice as fast now it seems. The Kursk operation was the end of Ukraine!
