A little about me:
My name's Minoo, and I'm originally from Iran.
I obtained my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Diploma in England in 1985.
Since then, I've been an English teacher, teacher trainer, and course director in various schools and countries. I'm also a trained confidence coach.
In 2008, my son, Tom, and I set up the Anglo-Link platform for online English studies.
This led to the creation of our popular RUclips channel in 2011.
My passion is to share with you what I've learnt on my own English language journey, both as a student and as a teacher, so that you can become a fluent speaker of English too.
Find all the support you need to reach your goal of speaking English with confidence and ease by joining the Anglo-Link Community at app.anglo-link....

I wouldn't use 'I had been writing when he came in' unless I wanted to say for how long: 'I had been writing for several hours when he came in.' If you just want to express that the action of him coming in took place during the action of you writing, then keep it to the Past Continuous: 'I was writing when he came in.'
The tests are to give you an indication of your level. If you want exercises to practise with, you can upgrade to Premium Membership. This will give you access to all the online exercises and their answers.
You make the best English Lessons. I finally understand how tenses work. Thank you! Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I'm glad this lesson has been helpful to you.
thank you very much Anglo-Link , I really appreciate your lesson. because it helped me a lot to understand many points en English grammar.
I'm very happy that my lessons have been helpful to you.
That was the best tenses lesson I've ever got, thank You so much!!!! For the first time I understood how it really works. I did only the "All teneses-lesson" and got 20/25. You are the best! Thank you again!
You're very welcome, Katarzyna!
+Anglo-Link I only got 17/25. I think , I am very poor in English. I am Cambodain.
I followed most of your videos and completed all the tenses.. It was a grear hepl for me to do the exercises. I am proud of you for being so generous to do something like this.
You can use 'since' with both PP and PPC, but with two different ideas:
1. One action that started in the past and continues or has just stopped: PPC: I have been waiting here since 9:00.
2. Several actions that have already been completed: PP: I have written ten e-mails since 9:00.
There are two videos in this channel on Modal Verbs:
1. can, could, may, might & 2. will, shall, would
'Was' and 'were' are the past Tenses of the verb 'to be'. You can study these on the Anglo-Link website under 'Exercises - Anglo-File 101 - Verb 'to be'.
You can review and practise the structures with the exercises on the Anglo-Link website at Premium and Premium Plus membership levels.
Yes, you can use this tense, but then ideally, you should also include a point in time and the length of time:
If the bus doesn't come BY 10, I'll have been waiting for the bus FOR AN HOUR for no reason.
I am looking a good English lesson at RUclips for a long time ago, finally I found it. Appreciate for your lesson.

Ive been mastering my english with minoo and I wont stop!! Thanks!
You're most welcome, Hector. Thank you for your vote of confidence!
Anglo-Link is for me the best youtube series about English grammar.
I've made two mistakes. I've chosen two times the future perfect continuous tense instead of the future perfect tense
although there was no information in the sentence for how long the action was going on.
Thanks a lot, Ralf! I'm glad you know what your mistake was. That shows you've learnt the theory really well.

You're very welcome.
i can't stop myself for subscribing this channel after watching these videos.....Thnks from India.
Yes, it is a variation of the first conditional when you want to insist on the completion of the 'consequence' action. It is rare, and therefore not taught in the context of conditional sentences.
I really have to learned all tenses english grammar well because I m still way behind. It will take me some time to following up. Thank you
Damn, I am a native English speaker and I got a few wrong -.-
I never ever use future perfect continuous!

You're welcome, Amir. Yes, one or two sentences may have two possible answers.
Thank you for teaching us! I really love to study English.
My pleasure, Anita!
I got 23 out of 25. That was great!!! Thanks for teaching Minoo
yes! my all answer are correct
[20/25] 6-(I thought, it will be present perfect continues), 8-(I used future simple negative "I will not"), 12-(my answer: ...I have decided to...), 19-(I used present perfect continues...), 24-(I used: ... is going to visit...). Thank you very much, Minoo~! This exercise was awesome~!
+tgchan
Well done. As for the five mistakes, I hope it was clear why the answers were what they were.
Mam,I have a doubt
Grammatically, only shall is used in the future forms of I and We. But at 2:51 the auxiliary used is will.
'shall' is an alternative to 'will' for 'I' and 'we'. 'will' is correct too, and also more common than 'shall'.
Thankyou Mam😊
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! I've learned a lot of things from your lesson. Thanks once more.
+Ilkhom Muminov
My pleasure!
Thank you for the exercises I confused with the Future Perfect and the Future Perfect Continuous, but I´m going to practice a lot for heal this confusion. however The rest of the lessons I´m ok, I will surf on your website and I´ll be doing the exercises about this tenses. If the bus doesnt come, I will not have waited for the bus for no reason.

You're welcome, Andre!
Until I had done the exercises, I was still struggling with the tenses. I'm finally grasping them, and it feels great, almost unreal. I have been speaking English my whole life and I am only now formally learning the tenses. I feel so much more competent in my native language. Thank you for posting all of this on youtube. It appears you have put in a great deal of work to help people. I look forward to gaining proficiency with the rest of grammar after I've learned the tenses; your material I will be sure to return to as I continue with this.
I'm very glad that my lesson on Tenses has been helpful to you. I hope you enjoy my other lessons too.
Although I find the exercises challenging, I liked this video a lot. I will keep studying in order to improve. A lot of hard work is needed to write perfectly and speak fluently.
Video is awesome it gives clear understanding about tenses, to improve communication in a proper manner.

Thank you so much for your great video, as always. I have a question about the present perfect tense without a specific time reference like this. Is it correct to say "Imposing carbon tax has long been a controversial policy" or "Imposing carbon tax has been a controversial policy for decades"?
Yes, both sentences are correct.
Thank you!
Hello! Greatings from Italy!
First of all: thank you for your lessons, I really appreciate all of them!
I have a few questions about Part 1, sentence #8: "If the bus doesn't come, I will have waited for the bus for no reason."
Question A)
My first anser was: "If the bus doesn't come, I have been waiting for the bus for no reason."
I know that brits usually use continuous when they add length of time info, but does it sound good? Or doesn't it?
Question B)
Does "If the bus doesn't come" imply a future action due a tacit time-table?
T&R,
AB
Greetings form the U.K.!
Indeed, you can also use Future Perfect Continuous without necessarily specifying the length of time. Be careful not to omit the 'will' though:
If the bus doesn't come, I WILL HAVE BEEN WAITING for the bus for no reason.
Ok, got it!
T&R,
AB
Thank you so much anglo link 💜 I've done all of them in the correct way❤️❤️❤️
Excellent!
