This time of year is always overwhelming. My tree went up two weeks ago and still only has lights on it. I’m thinking that I like it that way, without the ornaments! I haven’t knitted since the pandemic - I took up crochet. Anyway, my goal for 2025 is to knit a pair of socks. It is a little intimidating because I really am all thumbs with DPNs, guess practice makes perfect. So is there a sock pattern you would recommend? Am enjoying your Vlogmas videos.
@@barbaramalcolm1621 Thank you so much for the lovely comment :) And I say your tree is great however you like it. Just a lighted tree can be very pretty too and I totally get it. It took me hours to clear the area and then get the tree ready for ornaments. So much work! For socks, it really does take practice to not feel awkward and to be honest it took several socks before I felt good about making them. I'd recommend just a plain vanilla sock pattern like I'm So Basic by Summer Lee. Its very detailed and its also free :) And you dont have to use dpns - some people prefer to use a long cable needle and do magic loop or they like a 9 inch circular needle. The Crazy Sock Lady has tutorial videos on each type of sock needle and shows you how to use them, so that may be worth a watch. Ive just used dpns so long and I prefer them to magic loop, but u am in the minority there. You can definitely make a great pair of socks even as a beginner though! The easiest way is to just pick a yarn you love - maybe one with a pattern dyed into it already - and then just focus on the basics of sock construction.

@@barbaramalcolm1621 No Problem :)
I ordered the same advent and felt the same. Was scammed!
@@beckybesendorfer2427 Yep - definitely too good to be true. Now we know lol
You can return it and get your money back.
@@andreenadeau4078 Eh it was only $15 and they charge you the return shipping, so its not really worth it. I may just donate it as is.
