it was based on a true story of the jallianwalah massacre where british killed a large number of innocent peaceful citizens for gathering together. It is a hard movie to watch because most of the west are unaware of the cruelties and also it was london and india not new york lol
Just came across ur channel and watched ur indian movie trailer reactions and realised that u guys also don't have any idea about indian film industry ,u just have vague stereotypes. India produces around 1500-2000 movies a year in more than 20 languages. Which includes all kind of movie complete cheesy romantic dramas , epics to slice of life pictures and it doesn't follow western rules of cinema so pls watch indian cinema with open mind🙏.
The hard work done by the whole team is just uncomparable,"one of the best foreign film you should definitely watch " if you guys like to think of it that way
this movie is based on life of revoltunory udham sing known as Ram Mohammad Singh Azad. who is known for his assasination of Michael O"Dwyer who was a british leutenient govvrner of Punjab responsible for Jaillianwalla Bagh Masscaare in Amritsar on April 13th 1919. The relationship between the deaf and mute girl and her teacher is the focal point here. The teacher is more than just a teacher, he is her guru. No smoking: an original thriller of a man who enlists the service of an underground mad cult from hell who have a 100% success record in making him stop. Tumbaad: the finest and most well made horror to ever come out of India, based on Indian supernatural folklore and a story about essentially human greed. Bajirao mastaani: a historical epic about the great Hindu Maratha general who never lost a single war and his controversial marriage with a Muslim princess. Stunning and beautifully shot, every shot is a painting. Swades. By the director of the Oscar nominated Lagaan (also recommended) but this is superior to Lagaan. An Indian born NASA scientist returning to his village after staying abroad most of his life. The movie beautifully presents the clash of the traditional and modern Andhadhun: an original tightly written thriller about a man who is blind but witnesses a major crime. Massive box office hit in China. Piku: by the same director of sardar uddam, but this one is a character drama and comedy and road movie about Indian middle class families and their bitter sweet feuds. Dangal: a social movie with a message that challenges stereotypes about the girl child being less than the boy child but in an entertaining way. An ex wrestling champion who never won gold for India, pin his hopes on on his two daughters to fulfill his dream and to help them realise their own destiny. A blockbuster hit in China. Taare zameen par: the first Indian movie to seriously explore the topic of learning disabilities, in this case dyslexia, but with an even deeper resonating message that we are all good at different things and our talents needs to be recognized from early on and nurtured. Beautifully shot, acted, scored and emotional. Alavaandhan/Abhay: India's silence of the lambs, Cell and Hannibal. A psychopath twin brother escapes from the mental asylum to save his brother from his soon to be wed fiance who he believes is their evil step mother returned. The movie is told from the perspective of a psychopath and we get to see how the world appears to him mixing violent anime style animation and bizarre trippy hallucinations. Quentin tarantino said this inspired Kill Bill. My brother Nikhil: the first mainstem Bollywood gay movie. It is about the coming out of a national swimming champion and the ostracization he faces and he dies of AIDS. His story his sensitivity told by his sister shooting a documentary on his life.
