It seems like Mermaze wasn't very popular with kids, so I'm not surprised if it is getting canceled. As a collector, I love the dolls. They're so gorgeous, and look good as a display. But from a play aspect, I can kinda see why a kid wouldn't enjoy them too much. The lack of articulation and lack of fashion does limit play options a lot.
Yes but fish tails are boring the mermaze mermaidz diffrent tails honestly to me kinda showed diversity to show that noone is perfect we were all made diffrent thats why i love the diffrent tails

I got one of the winter waves line and I am obsessed with her snow globe tail. I hope they don't get cancelled. Cuz I never got the chance to get Mermaid High before it got taken of shelves.

Way too expensive in Canada. I found the dolls to have sort of a dead stare (could have been fixed with moving the eyelid slightly down or making the iris bigger maybe). I got a Jordie on heady discount and rebodied her. I ended up dressing her with some rainbow high clothes and she is so stunning. They really missed out on not putting legs on them.
Nooo I NEED THE SLEEPOVER COLLECTION. THEY ARE ADORABLE. if I can just get those I will be happy. I'm not even a huge mermaid person I just really like the dreamy pastelly vibe most of them have. And I find there faces gorgeous. I just need the blonde from ww, morra, orra, Jordie , harmonique and riviera. I wouldn't mind them using the same faces, Styles and just making them into regular fashion dolls.
First Mermaid High gets canceled and now it’s competitor? Such a bummer, I got hooked on the mini series episodes. It would be a shame to leave the series with a cliffhanger. I loved mermaids since I was a child, but I wasn’t a fan of these dolls despite how much I love mermaids. With doll collecting from MGA I personally prefer more Rainbow High and LOL OMG dolls.
When mermaze first came out for 36.99, i think thats what drove some buyers of mga off because i mean, the dolls do have high quality and the eyes are very detailed but i feel like they were only made to compete with mermaid high (who ended in a year 💔). I feel like mermaze is gonna turn into something like novi stars and bratzillaz, theyll be forgotten and then years later people who own them are gonna try to resell them for a lot of money (occasionally ones people may consider "rare" even though every product is distributed to a equal amount to be put in stores).
Even i for one forgot about them time to time mainly because i was only interested in the cartoon. I think its too early for mermaze to be cancelled but 2 months went by super quick so idk it depends on what mga is going to do...only time will tell
I just feel like gimmicks need to stop mostly, like slow globe tails i'm okay with, but for the most part gimmick dolls don't do anything for me and a lot of the time they are a sign of the end. I base my like of a doll on, hair, articulation, fashion, and character if it can accomplish all that and it has a gimmick that doesn't' interfere with that i love it. Like adults don't care about color features, and they required very hot water to change sometimes and that requires adults to do it so...who was that feature for? and the gimmicky dolls from g2 of monster high...ew...no thank you. I'd be okay with gimmicky playsets or items that come with the doll but let the doll be a doll.
I would blame Mermaze getting cancelled more on MGA themselves than the dolls (or show) being bad. 2022 is when they debuted and meanwhile MGA was flooding the Market with 40ish new dolls. How was MGA supposed to compete with itself? MGA flooded the market. Of course demand was going to run out.
That would be so sad if they got canceled. I'm not into in these dolls, but quite a lot of people likes them. Personally i don't mind that they are not well articulated, what is important to me is face. Mermaze's faces is what i personally don't like the most. For me their eyes is just hollow. And i can't connect to them because of this. But i mean that there is always room for improvement. I hope that they could be revived and made better
I saw so much potential in this doll line. I love mermaids. I felt these dolls were the most unique I’ve seen for a mermaid. The inset eyes are always a favorite. The winter line was better than the 1st; the snow globe effect sold me. I prefer the sculpted tail over a fabric one. More articulation in the tail would be nice & maybe like some cool water sculpted stands for the mermaids to display on.
First of all this generation is relying too heavily on social media! Also I love this brand and it’s show! The only reason I don’t buy them much is because the price is just a bit too much for the unarticulated non bendable tail! And this is an easy fix. I like them being always mermaids. Their faces are simply stunning 🤩 these are unique dolls I want them to stick around. I was really looking forward to the siren sisters and the slumber party lineup...
I was real hesitant to get any cuz of the price and tails. So on a sale I got Orra cuz I liked her mold and how much better she can stand and how sturdy her tail is. I really liked her. Like obviously they can't make all the dolls like Orra cuz it'd cut the clothing budget but in terms of base doll Orra is a great base to work off of. Just making the tails less hollow feeling cud help. Winter line helped fix that by filling the tails with fluid. I need mermaze to still release the slumber party line tho cuz some of the designs I'm most interested in the series are in THERE.
I'm hoping that it's just a slow start, just like MGA's omg and rainbow high lines. It takes about 3 years to really get going with a line. Rainbow high and omg dolls release fast now, but when they just came out, it was slow.

Within the last two months MGA has released shadow high series 2, lol omg sunshine makeover and rebel heart and western cutie, and now rainbow high series 5. That’s a lot of new releases within two months, especially after the holiday season. Then Mattel is releasing new monster high g3 and the masked collection. I mean it’s one release and announcement after the other. So my hope is that they’re waiting for a slow down in the season. Besides no one is suspecting the Fierce line is cancelled especially when the next wave is only two dolls.
I really like these dolls, I think they have gorgeous faces but i do think they could have done better with the tails. But i think the budget went to the faces and hair
Lately I’ve been seeing some first waves on clearance for like 9 dollars and my Walmart has winter waves on sale for like 29, I’ve also been seeing some people having winter waves for even 15
I think it's possible they're realizing there isn't much they can do with solely mermaids as a doll line (having a plastic tail is limiting them), as well as the popularity of mermaids is kinda waning (altho I bet there will be a resurgence once The Little Mermaid is released). Like, it would have been an interesting concept to start introducing different kinds of mermaids, heck even some mermen?
It makes sense, they were way too overpriced with no articulation in the tails, I do like plastic tails better than fabric but they did not execute it properly also theirs eyes look soulless. Winter waves definitely are better I might get some if they go on a really good sale but they were too little too late. I also wish they were more fantasy leaning.

I don't like these dolls. Their faces creep me out. I do prefer dolls with fabric tails. I also think they are very overpriced. The tails they have frankly look like they would be painful to move around in with all of those studs/odd shaped tails. I saw one review of the super curly hair rocky doll & her doll's hair came out in huge chunks. Every single time I go to walmart I never ever see anyone buy these dolls. They just sit on shelves & the walmart I shop at has a ton of them. I mean they have at least 10 of each character.
