It's crazy how the journeys of some bands turn out. I have been a fan of Queensryche (the original line-up) since the EP came out in the early 80s, and have been to every show they performed at in San Diego up until 1997. I watched them headline smaller venues as well as open for larger bands at arenas. When I saw them headline the San Diego Sports Arena in 1991, I thought they would be one of those monster bands like Metallica turned into. Didn't happen, but I'd love to check out Tate live one more time. Thanks for posting this.
I saw the Mindcrime tour back in the day and it was mind blowing. Geoff is still an incredible vocalist . Queensryche had it all, incredible guitars and drums way ahead of it’s time and Operation Mindcrime is one of the greatest albums there ever was.
Geoff's vocal resurgence the last few years is being wasted by really crappy bands. The fact he can do this again 1:19:26 and 1:20:34 makes me really wish that reunion tour would happen, even if just one really short leg. Recapturing the magic of the original lineup when Geoff's still this capable would be awesome, but it just won't happen.
This one almost hurts. Geoff is completely out of form, and the band is underperforming. The crowd sings better... Geoff left the 'ryche because he was tired of Metal. Now he returns to it because the other stuff he tried didn't work out. I saw another live show with these guys playing classic 'ryche songs, and it was much better.
Second to last song, take hold of the flame.....can't hit any of the high notes. Last song, Queen of the Reich.....nails it! Totally lip syncing, to a vocal track. Geoff hasn't been able to hit those notes, since the 80's. Don't believe me, watch ANY video of QOTR, from this year. Vocals are identical 😊
Agreed, I’ve followed Queensryche from day one, and when it got sour Geoff sounded like he didn’t give a shit, then he started touring with his own band but still sounded shit, now lately he sounds quite good again, but the band he’s using now sound so ordinary 🤷🏼♂️
Guitars are not at the level it should be, too many shortcomings, while Geoff Tate found out again a kind of second youth with is fabulous voice; I had in mind he lost it when I saw him years ago.
Very sad to see and hear this mess. As a massive fan of the original line-up this is just earache central. Good effort - but not close to the Geoff Tate we knew so long ago. Todd is light years (and octaves) ahead of this Tate reincarnation.....and this band is terrible.
Not the entire band, it is the guitar player with the short hair and tattoos. He is constantly off key and super sloppy. I just saw them 9/14/23 and he is gone. Geoff actually had 4 guitar players at the last third of the show. It was greasing awesome, everything g was tight. The guitar player with the long hair, James Brown is great, the bass player and drummer are also great. He also added a keyboard player that is very talented as well.

I'm sorry but this is hard to listen to, yes I get it can be fun to be there live, but that's about it.
