Personally I think that they're such a refreshing group amidst so many alike artists. I have never been drawn so fast to a group before, they're so genuine and talented and they deserve so much more! Judging by listening to all the live sets they've done on radio, the following is my opinion about their singing voice. Sungjin (rhythm guitarist in black): rock song vocal, rather good at stay on key, range (low to high) is not bad but not exceptional Young K (bass in pink flight jacket): versatile in vocal range (good transitioning between lows and highs), good support, and stay on key 99% of the time (the reason why he can harmonize so good) Wonpil (keyboard): voice is too nasal and not well supported (too much is forced out of his throat), very good at falsetto, because he plays keyboard (that requires a lot more music theory), he's aware of flat voice (judging by his facial expression whenever he's a tiny bit flat). Jae (lead guitarist wearing glasses): choir boy voice, range is decent, has a tendency to go flat when in (sustained) high notes, but his tonal quality is the most melodic in all the members, a combination of Jason Mraz and Bruno Mars (pop + RnB lite) Dowoon (drummer): doesn't sing much (hard for drummers to sing; Phil Collins is an exception) therefore I don't have an opinion (although his speaking voice is low and well supported) In terms of blending, Jae, Sungjin, and Young K work like magic singing together. They voice, tone, and strength blend so well together that I hope that they stay together for a very long time. If Junhyeok (the ex Day6) was still around, it's be any music lover's dream come true. Junkyeok's voice is smooth, on key, and supported well (like a combination of Sungjin and Jae). It's a big loss for Day 6 to lose him. Wonpil's voice doesn't blend well with the 3 other voices. It stands out whenever he sings. Not saying his voice is bad but it is simply doesn't jive with the other 3 when they all sing together. Even when he's singing a solo part, the transition to another voice is not as smooth as should be. He should practice to stay away from singing from the throat. If he could use his abs to support a good chest voice and able to transition smoothly to head/falsetto voice, he'd be a more mature singer.

I've seen many reactions of day6 and they say wonpil's voice is unique and they like it. yes it's unique but it's not my type and doesn't blend really well with the others voices. big sorry for wonpil biased.
Kpop Trash Liking or not is often subjective. Don't need to be sorry if Wonpil's vocal color is not your cup of tea. I just noticed how similar Wonpil and Yugyeom (Got7) are in singing voice. Search Day6 Dingo on youtube and listen to Day6 singing a 100 second medley of JYP artists' latest release. When Wonpil sang Yugyeom's part in Never Ever, it was as if Yugyeom sang it.
Grunt Hog young k is that good, always amazed with his vocals, i agree w your point about wonpil, however i think he's a great add to the band(brings more flavour to the overall song), he's not very consistent in each performance but his voice is really smooth in many performances and i was more attracted to his and young k voice, the reason i get into them, i think wonpil did good in I Wait
I am Jae's bias but it is actually not that Wonpil's voice doesn't suit with others... it is just that there must be at least a person who has unique voice in a kpop group that is different from others... Day6 has been a group that is not just about having good music.. but the four colorful vocal members themselves are the reason why this group is considered as a unique group,,, they are not trying to be a strong rock band like Ftisland or the other groups... but instead they have their own color to show who Day6 is.. imagine if wonpil is taken out of the group, then Day6 will be less colorful... they are many musicians also find wonpil's voice able to get along with other voice... that's what makes the group colorful.. not just having "magic singing together" but also showing your own color in a song but the combination is still on point.. maybe it is just you or some people who think like that but tbh... there are many musicians or experienced singers don't really think that way... Talking about his live vocal and for the other members' also, I actually agree that they can sharpen their live vocal to be better.. they still have the room for improvement... but def the main vocalists Sungjin and Wonpil actually blend perfectly for me and I don't ever feel uncomfortable or something like not blending really well.. Also, the ex member is actually a strong vocalist also.... but what is done is done...altho it is a waste. Simply, you don't expect a group whose members have the voice able to blend together only but just like the new song "I SMILE", that is how kpop is supposed to be... you know how to play with your vocal and able to let the listeners feel smooth each part by each part of the song..
