To be fair, it's 1105 people, and not everyone may have a way to share their gameplay.
@WhiteVoidSpace I still feel the way Chris setup their stream is a bit more interesting in that regard, where the community cams are encouraged and showcased more frequently.

death link at this time is either on or off. anyone who has it on will send or receive based on their games death link
You would need every viewer to have a custom client that doesn't send deathlink. Hilarious idea, not feasible at this scale without someone contributing to the codebase.
Edit: actually, the bananium server specifically might be able to do this? He's doing some funky stuff over there.
@MudakTheMultiplier i mean you really just need over time better death link settings. its just not a feature thats getting a lot of dev time but you have things where somegames have "multiple deaths count" so you dont send a link until you die like 5 times. just have that be highly customizable and make it infinite times
@Zaliedthe problem is that right now the server doesnt interact with deathlink, so you need every world to support the changes.

Being real though, it was super fun and I had a great time :)
Also, for anyone wondering, I used Gruberfly's Elegy because it was one notch any anything else was to expensive (think 5 notch strength ect.).
Additionally, I hadn't intended to do Pantheons (and it was meta disabled), but by the time I had done almost every check in the game I still didn't have Void Heart, so I cleaned up bosses and started doing pantheons. By the time I got Void Heart I was in Pantheon 4 so I thought I'd see it through.

I really enjoyed playing with the Stardew crew! It was fun being able to gift items to each other to help out
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the work you put into this whole thing. The first attempt not working was a bummer, but only taking one week to set up everything is crazy work. Thank you and all the helpers. You guys did an amazing job setting up this really fun event! I was one of the people playing Yacht Dice. It was really fun! Probably can't make the next community AP due to exams, but keep up the amazing work!
I cannot wait for the collab of 360Chrism & CJ to make it to 2K next time. 😂

@hoodiesticks that would be hard since both fanbase doesn't main the same games Cj's is more Hollow Knight, Celeste while Chrism is more Pokemon and Mario, but could be interesting in some fashions

@baroko65 It was my first day of my group's first archipelago and we were so confused why nothing was working. Then we went on the Discord and saw the chaos that was unfolding! Lol
I looked at the dates and they didnt line up much? unless theyre inaccurate in the video, definitely that time frame lol, I was mid archipelago with my friends
I wouldn’t say attack as that implies malicious intent but probably yeah a DDOS overload happened
@jacobmaitland3613 doesnt ddos usually imply intent because thats intentionally sending way too many inputs for the system to handle? Which i know is what happened, but ddos in my experience is only used when it’s malicious

However the term is often used colloquially for situations like this where a sudden influx of legitimate traffic overwhelms an unprepared server, because it efficiently conveys the technical issue at hand despite not being completely accurate about the circumstances.
I was one of the Slay the Spire runners (Goal: one A20H win) and i was on an insane run like 30 minutes after start with barely any unlocks and made it like half way through Act 3, i could've been one of the fastest players to finish but the spire had other ideas. Was still an amazing event and i encourage people to join the next one!

@smk7500 same, have never done slay the spire randomiser but have thousands of hours in it so always looking for an excuse to play more
37:47 the distribution of checks is crazy, when 14% of the games hold 49% of the checks. Good they finished fast though
@1Henrink that number includes all the players still playing not just the ones that finished
@Arceusbot There IS a pretty crazy distribution of checks between games though. Factorio has an insane number. I think Stardew and some of the Zeldas can get pretty high depending on settings. Starcraft 2 has over 1k. Meanwhile there are a few games iirc which don't even pass 100...
@Envy_Dragon Stardew *can* get over 2k checks, but with how much you'd have to do I think it stops being viable for a single session like this after a point.
Tunic, however, can have over 6000 checks if you enable grassanity.

The archipelago website has a list of compatible games, though there may be a few additional ones that don't appear in that list

I was definitely upset when the first 1200+ person archipelago broke and stopped since I couldn't make the second a week later, I even managed to get into my game and start unlocking checks, BK'd myself right as I died and got DC'd from the server since RoR2 requires you to reconnect on each game start.
I was playing Sly 2 and managed to goal in right about 3 hours flat, which was the target lmao

12:44 yes, it is doable. apparently there are like three ways of doing it, but i always teach the block boosted hyper method to get it (delays a hyper from the traffic block's returning momentum in the next room over, and barely manages to cross the entire cassette room screen.) one of those things that's probably easier to show than verbally explain...

@splimble Satisfactory defaults to only needing to clear stage 3, and you can adjust input rates and other things to make it much faster too.

This was genuinely so fun to be a part of especially since the first attempt is what made me start playing archipelagos.
The best part was for sure when we crashed the servers the first time and all the (funny) technical issues caused as the main AP server had a meltdown.
I love playing a ROBLOX GAME for hours straight.

i dont know if someone else already said it, but celeste does have a locked door in the 2500m section of summit that it considers required, and will hide your complete on the trackers until after collected due to the keysanity mode possibly throwing it elsewhere
Participating in this was absolutely insane and was such a blast to just be able to play with everyone. Super excited to learn more games than just kirby air ride for the future.

I had skipped out on the initial one since I thought it might have broken things (My fears were subdued once I knew Aurora was putting in the work) but joined in on this one once I knew we'd be connecting to Eije's server since Eije's the GOAT. What's even better is that Chris' was a week after this.
It was fun to play Fire Red in this one since I had planned on running my Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL manual in the Chrism one, but Omegpha ran it in this too so it got representation anyway

I've seen so many massive randomizers, and I'm always in awe at the skill everyone displays. I'm definitely signing up for the next one, Time to spend the next week practicing lol.
My goat, Chrism, mentioned in the first minute of the video. I paused this vid a minute in, I really hope cyja took some notes from Chris and disallow certain games that are notorious for extending these WAY past a reasonable length lol.
I still remember back in 2019 or so, when the record for largest multiworld in OOT(this was before Archipelago existed) was in the low 200's range, and that was because the upper limit was 255 players.
Fast forward 7 years later, & we have cross-game multiworlds stepping well into the 4-digits range.
Congrats on the record Archipelago! I'll keep an eye out for future ones since I've had fun with small friend group APs, though sadly won't be able to make this months. Good luck on the next one!
