this was, bar none, the best Oscar night ever especially where 1999 was a stellar year for film. Billy Crystal was wonderful...especially in the opening montage.

@@JAPelicano1 I remember as a kid re watching the recording on tape. I taped this and the year before where he hosted with Titanic winning. I reacted all his jokes and monologues lol. Every time Billy Cyrstal hosted the oscars my mom taped it knowing he was something special and it will be entertaining. I miss him as host. Oscars have gone down hill.
Amazing, Billy Crystal is a legend. Hosting is no easy, he has to memorise all the jokes and the all the songs for one night of 3 hours.

and the part "you see things that aren't there, LIKE BRUCE WILLIS WITH HAIR,YOU'RE IN THE SIXTH SENSE...."the melody combined with that line,really cracking me, real best host, BILLY CRYSTAL.

Spacey didn't quit - he was cancelled by the entertainment industry forever on an allegation.
@@mrjones29 so sad. He jyst gave up. What a compelling actor. All his rolls were made extra quirky by his enchanting acting style. Even in a noy si good movie HE WAS GOOD.

Oscar year 2000 is the best there have been for decades maybe ever.. Al was perfect All was 20 years younger offcourse 😉 Billy was hillarious and perfect as host and most of all stunningly good movie nominated

The one for "The Green Mile" is the theme from the old 60s sitcom "Green Acres."
2020 looking back no wonder Kevin spacey was so good in American Beauty, he wasn't acting at all. The only stretch in that film was that it was with a young girl.

Wasn’t he simply the best of them all. A lovely man and so clever to do that on the Oscars. The Oscars have lost their shine for me in so many ways and when I look round and see that there are so many that have gone now makes me very sad. Kevin Spacey he has had such a terrible few years. Delving into his private life and these liars who have come out and said nasty things. Go get a life. Anyway here’s to Hollywood. There will never be another Billy, thanks for the memories. ❤
