Blob opera brought me great joy. I’d like to propose a motion that all future beach/fossil hunting videos include the blobs bringing their joy to the opening or closing. Many thanks to Mrs Shrimp for letting us have so much of your time. She deserve that million subscriber award, which is not far off now, too.

I'm teaching my boss blacksmithing and he's teaching me homesteading, and I'm amazed at just how much you can grow in small spaces. Love your garden videos almost as much as your cooking/tasting videos, so much to learn. The new Shrimp HQ looks great, glad you, Jenny, and Eva found a little place you all enjoy.
I've just frittered away five minutes of my precious life watching a rendition of "I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside" by the Blob Opera - and I'm grinning from ear to ear!
This comment might not get to you, however I would just like you to know how much of an impact your videos have had on me. There’s something about your content, morals and voice that are just so calming and wholesome… they really do bring me joy and just bring me back to a calm state. Idk maybe this is making me sound weird or strange, but idk how else to word it. It’s funny, me and a girl were talking at work and saying how our boyfriends are awake at 2am watching “random foraging videos” and we were both talking about you! It’s just so funny to me Thanks so much for your content, can’t wait to see what other videos you have in store :)
I no longer live in the UK but when I did and had a good sized garden with two green houses I made a lot of good garden compost. All food waste and garden waste was composted, hedge clippings went through a wonderful machine, a Garden Master Shredder and Chipper. After the material had been composted I put it through the Garden Master again an it came out as fine potting compost. Great for growing vegetables. I gave that machine to a friend when I moved to Türkiye and he still makes good use of it. One greenhouse I had was about eight foot by twelve feet, it had an internal brick wall of three feet high. Being behind the glass the bricks acted as a radiator, storing heat from the day. This passive heat store extended the time the greenhouse was in use by about two months per year. Good crops of tomato and peppers, I was even able to grow melons, though they didn't get very large.
Dear Mr Shrimp, absolutely adored the blob opera, in no small part because it reminded me of the school choir practise where we had to do endless rounds of scales, just sounding the notes without words, but sadly, we were not as remotely good as the fabulous blobs. Being short I had to stand on the front row with three others and, as a chubby 12 year old, I bore an uncanny resemblance to the orange blob on the end. Ahhhh, happy memories
Thanks for the last bit - well all of it, but especially the last segment. My mother died 6 years ago this week. In her last few years she and Dad lived in a flat not far from the seafront, and she used to go for long walks along the promenade. My younger sister died 12 years before that. We wanted to put a memorial bench for them, and the obvious words to go on the inscription were: "They do like to be beside the seaside".
You have an uncanny knack for getting me to watch videos on topics I had _no_ _idea_ I would be interested in. Nicely done and much appreciated, Mr. Shrimp. 😁

That chair looks comfortable, and perfectly within your aesthetic. In my opinion it needs a granny square afghan on the back of it, though. An old school one made with brightly colored acrylic yarn.
@@lassievision - To protect the chair against Macassar oil, which was popular as a gentleman's hair requisite from Victorian times up to just before the second world war, when stuff like Brilliantine and Brylcreem became popular.
I can understand why you chose that house still despite the small older kitchen. It does seem like mostly everything else about the place is great. The garden is set up like most people dream to want to do (can't wait to see what comes of it).
Blob Opera is *AWESOME*. It's my thing on RUclips, feeding it MIDI and it brings me and my subscribers a great deal of joy. It's amazing the number of times I've been copyright claimed, from dubious midi, sung by AI.
I've lived with a kitchen that size for almost a decade now. You'll make it work, find a rhythm with what you have. Keeping the washing done as you go helps loads. Good luck with it all!
That’s a beautiful chair! That’s a chair for reading on a rainy day, and seeing how one arm is a little more faded, I think it must be able to hold a cup of tea of coffee very nicely.
After several months of the deepest, blackest depression (caused by medicine that was prescribed for me for nerve pain) in which I lost all interest in everything - almost even in life - today is the first day that I feel things as beautiful or pleasant again ( the sun is shining beautifully today!), feeling hopeful and wanting to do things again (cooking! I've always loved it!). To celebrate, and to reward myself for being more active today, I'm going to catch up on some of the missed AS episodes - I haven't even been able to do that for the past few months, it's just been too exhausting. I'm happy for Mike and his wife for the new house and I wish them both many happy years there - they will certainly have, just because of the great garden! (... and they finally got rid of that wild onion that wanted to overgrow their old garden ;) )
Blob opera was what definitely piqued my interest in the thumbnail this time, and was a wonderful treat to listen to. I'm so glad that you found it and had fun experimenting with it.
Mr Shrimp, you have excelled yourself! The other members of my household are seriously ill at the moment and caring for them has exacerbated the arthritis in my knee and I have the choice of being in terrible pain, or being in slightly less pain but feeling horrible because of the strong painkillers. I badly needed some joy in my life and your upbeat and eccentric video topped off with the Blob Opera rendition of I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside certainly provided it. Thank you so much and keep it up, please.
Just popping in (another rider here) to say thank you for the chronic pain train, it made me laugh and I'm sure you know how precious laughter is when you're on the train!
Eva did a wonderful job watching over you and Jenny pour that manure over the garden, she looked like she was truly making sure everything was up to standard.
Some retailers (at least in my experience working for large national chains) move discontinued items to their clearance section before their corporate pricing model allows them to mark the items down for clearance. They do this to clear old items off of the shelves so that their presentation team can set new merchandise. Then if/when the corporate pricing manager/bot transmits the markdowns for d-code merchandise, they're already good to go. That may be why the area was set up as it was.
Lovely send off with the Blobs, and being by the seaside certainly makes me assume that you would include the Christmas wanderings as, "Lower effort" videos, aside from the time of driving & editing. I'd like to mention that I definitely shared those with more people than the usual Shrimp video, simply because there is something so very relaxing about just going for a stroll, and sometimes people need that kind of energy.
1) The new chair made me so happy. Reminds me of one of those narrators chairs from various shows 2) Flapjacks in the oven has spun me out. I always just thought that was another word for pancakes? Please show us how these are made 🥺 3) No shame in a small and difficult kitchen. It's more relatable than a bigs chefs kitchen . This is the same reason I love watching J Kenji Lopez Alt. Obviously he's an incredible cook, and he does so in a space far smaller than my kitchen. Maybe you could try a head mount like his to save your camera being in the way :)
Thank you so much (and to Mrs Shrimp too!) for using some of your precious time and energy to entertain us during the moving process. Although I've managed to avoid moving for a few years now I vividly remember how intense it is, and there's no way I could keep a youtube channel going - especially not managing to sound as calm and comforting as you always do. I live with chronic pain and your videos provide a few minutes of pure joy and relaxation in my day, for which I cannot thank you enough. Looking forward to seeing Shrimp Kitchen 2.0!
The positive comment section is just my favourite! Your content always brings me such joy but in such a negative world it is so nice to highlight the good. Thank you as always for all your content Mr Shrimp from the cold Peak District!
How lovely to hear such a happy and at the same time, amusing song at the end of a busy day for me ,and an interesting, as usual, video from Atomic Shrimp.
Thanks once again for all your randomness, it’s what keeps me coming back to watch your videos as we never know what we are going to get, we certainly all need more singing blobs in our lives 😹 Good luck with the kitchen renovations.
this video really made me smile! your warmness, enthusiasm, fantastic jumper, and not to mention the funny little tongues of the blob opera have made my night. thank you shrimp
Stews get easier and more economical when scaled up as well, single portions on their own are difficult to get to the right size and only use parts of some of the ingredients.
I never know what I'm gonna get with this channel except something that's unexpectedly interesting. These videos have been an accompaniment while I work and have brought me so much comfort. Just, thank you.
I love the cottage and the chair. I have my own beautiful ugly chair that was made in Ohio in the 60s in a small little town that only has walmart now.
Once had chickens and ducks . They produced some of the best manure I ever had. The ducks seemed to dibble all the straw I gave them into a fine manured mulch that rotted down really quickly. It all had to be left for some time as it was potent stuff but the best overall was pig muck . Produced very strong plants. We rarely get snow here in “The English Riviera” but a recent frost has knocked things back a bit🤣
Looks like you have a normal Dorset "Galley" Kitchen. If it is a single skin of the wall that's probably why you get the condensation. Most Dorset cottages add a separate room for cooking after the main house was built. About the time the indoor bathroom's became fashionable. 😉👍 Welcome to Dorset the best county 😂 Love the blobs ❤
Yeah, it's exactly that - a single-skin galley kitchen built to connect the main part of the house with what presumably used to be an outdoor privvy (but is now a sort of utility room)
I look forward to seeing tiny meals at some point :) I'd be delighted if you'd consider making a South African Bobotie; I think it might appeal to your eclectic taste.
I know that feeling of moving in and not quite knowing what's growing in the garden. When my husband and I moved, we knew there was a garden, but really had no idea what was there, aside from a robust, shaggy purple monster of a Japanese maple. That spring, we were delighted to find that we had daffodils, irises, and tulips, along with a raspberry bramble that had taken over the neighbor's side of the fence, but generously provided fruit on our side as well. The vague tangle of what looked like dead bushes turned out to be lilacs and forsythia.
Your videos are like my stress relief go to, so relaxing and I love seeing your creativity and problem solving skills. It makes me feel more confident in just trying things especially when it comes to cooking. Appreciate what you do!
There was a loquat tree at my parents' old house. I tried the fruit a couple of times, it tasted OK, but I wasn't a huge fan. Every time my uncle was over, he would browse the tree for snacks, but apparently my dad wasn't as much of a fan too. One day he "tripped over" carrying the chainsaw and "accidentally" cut it down. Also not sure whether removing the tree was doing the local avian population a disservice or a favour. The fruit would mostly end up with one or two pecks before it fell onto the ground to rot, so I don't think they were fans of the fruit either. Removing the tree made way for flower beds, since the only plant my mum would tolerate that's higher than knee height was a curry leaf tree. And that was purely for culinary purposes.
The manure part of the video made me think of Eva, how confusing it must be to see the people that pick up the poop joyously spread a large quantity on the ground
I am so happy I came across your videos. They are really soothing to my anxiety. You have so much knowledge about a variety of things. I bet you are an amazing trivia partner.
Apparently they sell those mini cast iron kits here in the US as well because we were given a couple for Christmas. Both are savory: beer bread and baked cheese, where you provide the beer and the cheese (I'd prefer a brownie!). One pan is square though and it might be perfect for a single grilled cheese if the bread is small enough... I'm curious to see what you make in them because I'm stumped for any uses outside of maybe a craft project.
A short-term solution for your kitchen stove/oven issue might be a an electric countertop convection oven. It's basically a large toaster oven and I don't know how I ever lived without one before.
I always love the cooking video's you do. I think most of us can understand picking a home that is not perfect but one you really like. I did not know you moved to Dorset. I thank you for the mini tour of kitchen I wish it could be a little wider for you but that will not make a difference in the quality of the cooking you do ! I was also very happy to see you doing a wrap up and talking to us . I loved the blob opera !
Thanks for remarking upon my question... It looks like your gonna have a job in your hands... I wish you lots of luck with the renovations X Blob opera was so funny! Thanks for the smiles 🐱
I think you might like biscuits and gravy, it's probably the most British American food that I can think of. It's essentially a crumbly bread topped with a bechamel sauce made with lumps of sausage in it. As a vegetarian I often swap out the sausage for rosemary, black pepper (the more the better), garlic powder, red pepper, paprika, and magi sauce.
I'm fairly new to your channel but I've grown to be quite a big fan. It made me so happy to see you're starting a veggie bed. Gardening is a new hobby of mine and I'm excited to see what you grow.
I like this channel more and more. Mainly due to you just posting whatever the hell you want to do. Entertaining? Check. Refreshing? Check. Original? Double Check. ;)
Your videos are interesting and varied. I have really enjoyed the fossil walks. As someone who has recently moved house too you are doing amazingly well to have created the content you have in the middle of a big move
Thank you Mr Shrimp, I found your channel through scambaiting in 2020 but have since fallen in love with all your other content, I love the variety of your channel, how you showcase what you love! Keep up the good work!
Don’t stress when you need to do low-effort videos, or if you need a total break even. Your low-effort videos are still my favorite over most of the other channels I watch, and if you do need a total break, you’ve still got tons of videos I haven’t gotten to see yet 😂👍🏻
Thank you, sir. I really hope the new house keeps you all warm and safe and that you find many new and great experiences within as you have brought to me. I look forward to future uploads, low effort, or not.
We "just" (feels like it) moved house. The garden is established (but way smaller than yours). We know most of what grows there after one season. We have added to it (and thrown out some plants, have plans for a herb bed to replace a concrete pond...). Some is hard work, but work we enjoy. Good luck! You will have a great time in the new garden, I'm sure!
Another brilliant video! Thank you so much for sharing. Also, I now have Blob Opera stuck in my head...which is increasing the quality of my life exponentially. 😂
Gosh the Blob Opera was just lovely! What a great idea :) I do hope the anxiety with the move settles soon, and that you're both back on form again! (As an aside, now I'm going to have to discover whether anyone's tried to do Allegri's Miserere with the Blob Opera - how fascinating)
I can see why you love Shrimp cottage garden with its lovely little bit of woodland and decided to compromise on the kitchen. I kind of like seeing you cook in a more realistic small kitchen with normal, sometimes improvised equipment. In the same way as you sometimes showing your mishaps, it just makes it feel more achievable to have a go and not worry if everything turns out perfect.
You are smart for not accepting food that is mailed to you. You are spot on as to why. Most people are good; not all people are. Here in the U.S, the same general idea is present. At Halloween, the candy that is handed out is always store bought in the original wrappers for safety. Homemade food is politely accepted and then thrown away. Food banks where food is donated for the needy do not accept homemade food, only canned food from the store. The only exception to this social rule is pot lucks, or meals where people bring food and share it. Even though the food is homemade the people know each other and can judge fairly well how safe the food is to eat based on who made it. I have seen people with very messy houses offer homemade food only to be politely turned down from the offer of food. After the person left, the offeree told their friend it was because they saw the person's house on the inside as a guest and did not trust the food from it. So yeah, it is smart to not accept food sent to you.
Does anyone else come to this channel just to calm down and feel normal for a short while? Thank you Atomic Shrimp. 💚💛💙💗
Yes! I'll put some scam baiting or other talky shrimp videos on as background if I can't look at a screen but need calming.

You may enjoy an induction heater too! 70% more efficient than regular electric stove top! I love using a pressure cooker on mine.
I am so happy I came across your videos. They are really soothing to my anxiety. You have so much knowledge about a variety of things. I bet you are an amazing trivia partner.
Perfect studio chair for onscreen segments!
Fantastic! The blobs singing I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside was pure genius, had me in stitches .... thank you!
You could try an egg which can also be quite small!
I've seen tons of them at walmart during Christmas.
Had this video playing on 2x speed as I was pottering around the house. The Blob Music Hall coming from the other room scared the bejeezus out of me!
Once you mentioned organ-based MIDI, I could suddenly hear the organ-like quality very clearly in the final piece! Wonderful! 😀
Thanks for remarking upon my question... It looks like your gonna have a job in your hands... I wish you lots of luck with the renovations X
Blob opera was so funny! Thanks for the smiles 🐱
I breath a sigh of relief when I saw the size of the pack of m&ms. I was initially worried that we weren't going to have fun.
Loved your channel for years now. Thank you for keeping it so interesting.
Hi Mike, it would super cool to set up some cameras in your little woodland to see what animals come to visit :)
Haha... yes... I love the Blob Opera.... so much fun!!!😂
Blob Opera is itself sufficient justification for the existence of the internet- best thing I’ve seen in a while. Thanks for sharing, Mr Shrimp!!
This channel is a nice and comfy space. It's a very specific kind of cozy and I love it.
Been with this channel a while, off and on, and I'd like to say how great it has been to watch it grow
Shrimp always cheers me up when I’m feeling down
I like this channel more and more.
I love the eclectic topics of your videos. Never know what your next upload will be about, just know I will enjoy it thoroughly!
What a wonderful end to the video. I had so much fun with the blobs
Don’t stress when you need to do low-effort videos, or if you need a total break even.
Your low-effort videos are still my favorite over most of the other channels I watch, and if you do need a total break, you’ve still got tons of videos I haven’t gotten to see yet 😂👍🏻
I find myself coming back to watch the blob opera performance whenever I need a pick-me-up.
Thank you, sir. I really hope the new house keeps you all warm and safe and that you find many new and great experiences within as you have brought to me. I look forward to future uploads, low effort, or not.
I love Ava’s little sweater!
Your videos and genuine enthusiasm are a delight!
Eating a weird stale chocolate pizza with your wife on 3 surfaces with unmatching patterns is truly living the dream
Another brilliant video! Thank you so much for sharing. Also, I now have Blob Opera stuck in my head...which is increasing the quality of my life exponentially. 😂
This is delightful, Mike! The midi generator Midinous works wonderfully with Blob Opera.
Gosh the Blob Opera was just lovely! What a great idea :)
I do hope the anxiety with the move settles soon, and that you're both back on form again!
(As an aside, now I'm going to have to discover whether anyone's tried to do Allegri's Miserere with the Blob Opera - how fascinating)
LOVE the blob opera. Thank you.
Yeah, in a way, I feel like I have been practicing for years to be able to deal with this kitchen
I love positivity corner, nice touch and blob opery made me smile, thank you;)
That was awesome! The whole thing. I enjoyed this so much!
Amazing sing-along, also good cooking and everything else that you put in Thank you for sharing.
That was great, loved the blob opera!
Glad to hear that the house projects are going well, and the blob opera was the perfect finish
So I just spent a solid 20 minutes waving the blobs around. Thanks for showing me that.
This is footage gave me diabetes, and it's probably not even the sweetest thing I've ever eaten
talking about the "pizza" bit there, sorry if my original comment was unclear or rude
Thank you so much for your video. As usual, it was fascinating to watch. Your videos are the highlight of my week.
I just love your channel! That is all:)
I would not have expected me to sing along with the blob opera at 2 am a friday night! Your videos always make me smile :)
