That's cool that you used to go to Past Present Future Comics. I lived in West Palm until I moved to Tampa in 2012. Whenever I visit family in West Palm, I always stop by that comic book store.
Cool vid, mirrors my experience from getting back into comics since the 90's, then to figures, then to small/cheaper statues, then to higher end statues and also purging to fund for new statues.
This is an awesome history video. The old pics of your set ups. The old statues you cycled through. It’s true you get tired of seeing the same thing. The real thrill is completing the collection. Once it’s mission accomplished it’s on to the next. 🤙
that Hulk vs Wolverine statue PULLED IN A WHOLE GEN of collectors. idk how many times ive heard people say that was their first statue... and happy to say it was my first statue as well. I already had started with 1/6 scales but that statue raised the bar in collectible collecting for me.

Cool story. That's all I need is an office space because I work from home and have been for a few years now, then I'll start my statue collecting journey.
I only have one statue. I went for the lower end of things with the Kotobukiya ArtFX Cosmic Ghost Rider. Love it. Keep drooling over those other high end statues. Maybe some day. My current collecting is with different figures from the 6” Star Wars Black Series run.
Got my first big ISH statue , Lobo and I love it , it's the sideshow collectibles one with the flaming skull, just need dawg now. Cheers gem for all your input.

I started just like you Gem. It was those Marvel Select Action Figures. Then on to the Kotobukiya 1/10 scale Justice League and Avengers line with magnetic bases. Then to 1/6 scale Kotobukiya and Bowen pieces. Now, I’m into 1/4 scale Sideshow and XM. My wife’s favorite line...”I thought you said your last statue was going to be it for you.” 😆
Funny enough I just the other day I started going the opposite direction. I started purging my Neca stuff to downsize to more Marvel Select sized pieces because I had to move back in with my parents. I think I could make some room for a sweet Spidey statue though. Great vids bro. I really enjoy unwinding to your content Big Gem.💎💎💎
the reason I got into statues was because of you. I started watching Jedha Patrol due to his Star Wars hot toys. I started watching him October 2019 and then got my first hot toy in December that year. then around march I got suggested your channel and I binged watch your reviews so much. then in august I got my first premium format which was scarecrow and now I have mr freeze. plus I have pre ordered batman who laughs and bane premium formats and thinking about getting the flash pf.
I never knew you were into Marvel Selects back in the day. Their Destroyer and Juggernaut are some of my favorites from that line. The Juggernaut weighs a ton!
