I heard this band-the greatest of all high school bands ever-perform this live at the Buccaneer Band Festival in 1975. (I was a band student from a different competing school) So I’m a witness. Otherwise I would never believe that high school players were capable of this brilliance.
I assume that so few have visited this site is because no expects to hear it, a high school band playing Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra. How little they know. What a great transcription, and performance!

Thanks. Eddie Green would have appreciated that. He passed away two days ago. Sad day for all the old LH Band people.
@@Chicxulub65M I'm one of them. Had him for six years. Lots of talk about him from his students on the band alum and reunion sites.
Does anyone else have any more of these ? That era they also did Prokofiev 5. This was the golden era!
