Thank you so much for this tutorial. My daughter is getting Married in March. I want to make her Bridal bouquet. Thanks to you I will be able to. Look forward to reviewing more of them.
very elegant piece and great selection of flowers....also, solid and sharp technuque...so many of the youtube floral design videos are made by those who shouldn't be in the business.... thank you for this high quality video
This was perfect for what I was looking to do for my daughter’s bouquet with the calla and white roses and a little filler and navy peonies or navy hydrangea.
Just a question...how do you keep the bouquet nice during your wedding day? Will you have to put it in water during the day or can it be without for multiple hours?
Im making a rose and calla lilie bouquet for my wedding, Im just wondering the best way to incorporate the lilies. Is it better to have the separate throughout the bouquet or in bunches of 3 with roses around. I dont plan on using any othe flowers or filler. Thank you and advice would help.
Lovely bouquet. I wonder if you could help me please? My daughter is getting married in May, she would like just Astilbe would this be possible and how many stems do you think I would need to make a large bouquet please. Many thanks
hi, im going to make a wedding bouquet for a friend... we would like to know of when is the best time to buy the flowers? is it 2 days before the wedding or 1 day before the wedding? thank you in advance!
I really love this bouquet, I'm actually making one for a wedding in a couple of weeks but I need it in a cascade shape, can you help me with that please. :) Thank you!
Hi, I love your video. I am getting married Nov 17 would these be suitable for then and also is there any chance of a list of the names of the flowers ? Many thanks Helen
I am new and still studying to be a florist. I have a lot of practicing to do. Any advice on practicing making artificial floral arrangements. You would make a very good teacher. You are very thorough. Thank you Donna Peers.
Hey Donna! I don't have any experience with artifical flowers, but a lot of the design tips would still apply. Things like incorporating a focal point, when to use line flowers vs. mass flowers, etc. I think you can apply a lot of those design tips from fresh flower tutorials into your work. Good luck in your journey :)
The main difference between most bridesmaid and bridal bouquets is that the bridal bouquet is bigger, as most couples prefer that the bridal bouquet stand-out more than the others. But there are no hard rules about sizes or flowers used. The finished bouquet I made in the video is meant for a bride, but it could be used a large bridesmaid or maid of honour bouquet as well.
Beautiful! I think I'm the only man here. lol. So women, maybe can answer me, can we make it a day or two days before someone wedding day and save it in the jar of water?
It's going to depend on your specific situation. Is it very hot that day? You'll get some wilting from the matthiola, but the callas and roses should stand up well enough. Nothing will last out of water for an entire day, though, if it's really, really hot, but certain flowers last longer than others. It's best to keep the bouquet in water right until it's needed for pics or the ceremony.
Hello fellow British Columbian :) Years ago I attended Joan Johnson's school of Floral Design. She's since closed her flower shop but she still holds classes in Burnaby every few months. It's a short program and it covers the basics really well. Joan is a lovely person, too, and a great instructor. If you're looking for a class that covers more contemporary designs, you might have better luck with Maureen Sullivan's program in Vancouver. I have no experience with her classes, but she has a series of flower arranging videos that you can download online that I would recommend viewing first. Her work is gorgeous, though, and she seems like a very fun instructor. And lastly, check out Flirty Fleurs. The woman who runs the blog holds periodic classes near Seattle. Her work is spectacular, and I know a few professional florists who have made the drive to do a class.

Your thumbnail is showing a different bouquet than what you're making... I was looking for a tutorial showing how to make the bouquet you're showing on your thumbnail with the purple bouquet handle. Would you consider this a bouquet for the bride or the bridal party (bridesmaids)? What is the difference between the two?

Why not make the bouquet on the day of the wedding...especially if the wedding is at the end of the day?
Can anyone recommend a good floral design school in BC?

The handle is what made me click on the video. I do a method on bouquet handles and wanted to see if it was like how I do it.
Bridalbyvalerie.com has some beautiful satin ribbon rose bouquets with brooches.
