That's for real though. The only way to actually get the Link figure is to take it from the set and then return it to Costco, and you need to upper decker in the box so that the weight of the package matches, as they check for that

Nintendo did not set the price, Lego did. Nintendo doesn't have a reputation for overpricing in the first place. They have a reputation for making consoles that are affordable to most gamers. Their games don't often drop in price because they aren't trash like most developer's games.

You are paying 300$ for a few minifigures. Lego knows people want them, and Lego knows the fans will pay the price. WE are the ones letting them constantly get away with this. Even without the so called "Nintendo tax", Lego prices are completely out of proportion, and we still buy.
This set is a fail... either some simps will buy it anyways, even though it's not that good, or few people buy it and then LEGO does not want to attempt making more Zelda sets...

And we should be able to build both versions, not only one or the other; it’s like they’re making us pay $600 for the whole set, yet it’s tiny compared to, say, Barad-Dur As for the water around the tree, just a nitpick, they have to reuse pieces and to me it sorta echoes the pond with the stepping stones in the Kokiri village or the water surrounding the grown-up Sprout in Wind Waker, anyway

Daaannnggg. I don’t keep up with the Mario sets, so I didn’t realize. That’s bad. To be fair, this one has multi-molded minifigures with 6 brand new molds, as well as new printed elements, which always drives the price up a bit, but that still sounds out there, especially since half the set isn’t even buildable since it’s 2-in-1, so you’re actually paying for one set plus some extra pieces you can’t use.
At least those lord of the ring sets had great architecture and design. This Ocarina of Time version looks nothing like the game, and pretty much everyone's own MOC of the deku tree looks better than the official set. Whoever designed this mofo effed up hard

I'm not a Zelda fan, so I know this isnt for me. But I am a Lego fan and enjoy the mystical and Medieval themes, so it has potential to sway me. Except it doesn’t, because its a boring overpriced tree. It doesn't even look fun to play with like the D&D set, which is waaay too expensive but at least cool and fun for Castle. To be fair, this one has multi-molded minifigures with 6 brand new molds, as well as new printed elements, which always drives the price up a bit, but that still sounds out there, especially since half the set isn’t even buildable since it’s 2-in-1, so you’re actually paying for one set plus some extra pieces you can’t use.

At least those lord of the ring sets had great architecture and design. This Ocarina of Time version looks nothing like the game, and pretty much everyone's own MOC of the deku tree looks better than the official set. Whoever designed this mofo effed up hard

Only the minifigs are dope, the build seems even shittier the more I look at it. No one's going to have access to this bomb-ass minifig due to this high-ass cost

It's pretty much confirmed that there will be more zelda sets later on, we just gotta wait.
The worse part is that this set isn’t even all that big to justify that price tag in the first place. Otherwise, it would be more reasonable.

I'm not a Zelda fan, so I know this isnt for me. But I am a Lego fan and enjoy the mystical and Medieval themes, so it has potential to sway me. Except it doesn’t, because its a boring overpriced tree. It doesn't even look fun to play with like the D&D set, which is waaay too expensive but at least cool and fun for Castle. This set looks overpriced at $100. Snooze here. Makes me think of the right to protest.
Yeah, I'm not a D&D guy, but that set certainly gets my respect! I like how tall it is, and how there's lots of variation. It feels like the hero's journey, embodied in LEGO form
