Hi future Physician Assistants! ⚕️
If you are anything like I was as a PA applicant, then the PA school interview is the part of the PA school admission process that is causing you the most anxiety. If you have received your interview offer, then there is only ONE thing that is keeping you from becoming a pa student. . . and that is crushing your interview. Part of doing well on PA school interview day is knowing what to expect. In this video, I am breaking down everything you need to know about PA school interviews, from what to wear and bring to the types of interview styles I experienced during my PA school interviews. Next week I’ll be diving into difficult PA school interview questions/scenarios that I have been asked to touch on in my instagram DM and email. If there is anything you want me to cover in that future video, let me know! In the meantime, I hope this video helps you feel more prepared to crush the big interview day. Grab a cup of coffee, it’s a long one! ♡
I also want to let you guys know that I currently have a personal statement editing service available to everyone applying this cycle. Feel free to e-mail me at contact@samanthacarolyn.com for more details. :)
Keep working hard out there, and good luck!
Enjoy!
Samantha

Hi Samantha! I just wanted to let you know that I watched almost all of your videos in preparation for my interviews. It helped! I have been accepted and am so so happy and grateful that you posted what you did. The tips and tricks definitely worked. My second cycle applying was a success!
Hi Daniel!

Best of luck and enjoy your time before PA school! 🤗

Your tell me about yourself response was so good omg
Great information and delivery!! Thank you so much!
Hi Samantha! Recent subscriber here but I truly loved your pre-PA tips videos. I love how professional and authentic you are and you’ve inspired me to dig a little deeper and re-write my personal statement to come from a genuine place: at the end of the day, it’s not about work-life balance or salary or pursuing an attractive career in medicine. It’s about the people and how your aspirations and goals to treat people align with the profession. I’m super excited to get started on writing again! I’m in my mid-twenties and pursing PA school a few years out of undergrad. It’s made me self-conscious about my age and where I thought I’d be at this age. But I’m learning to love life, the people in my life, and not let my age prevent me from enjoying this beautiful life. I realize I’m still so young haha, but the negative thoughts and comparing myself to others’ milestones have gotten to me from time to time. I graduated with a BA degree in biology, French, and a public health minor. I spent a year after graduation working abroad in a French high school teaching 15-18 year olds English alongside their main English teachers. And I’m grateful to have traveled so much and lived so much. Now I’m working at a pct in a med/surg unit and an ER tech between a stand-alone ER and an ER that’s part of a hospital. And I came from a lab work background since I had the connections and started working in a lab at 15-16 years old doing specimen ordering and processing and eventually moving into testing and analyzing once I finished my degree and I was figuring out how to get a job in patient care. I’m so grateful for all these diverse experiences in healthcare and it’s made me realize how interconnected healthcare is. My younger sister is a current pharmacy student and we talk a lot about different parts of healthcare. Your videos are so inspiring and you have such a peacefulness and Grace about you! Looking forward to more PA content 😊
Thanks for all that you do! I used your videos to prepare for my interviews this month and got into PA school!!! Now I have to decide between two programs. Thanks again. You’re the best!
I love this, thank you for making my day. Congratulations on multiple (well deserved) acceptances. Well done! :)
thank you Samantha, your example for the " Tell me about your self" was great, specially sharing your hobbies. well done
Awe. Thank you for taking the time to watch! I’m glad you found it helpful 🤗
I'm Premed for Dermatology. Your hair and skin is flawless!
not interviewing this cycle but definitely saving this for when I do. Thank you!!
Happy to help :) Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Could you do one for zoom interviews?
I am in the process of brainstorming and filming videos for my channel, I will do my best to get one out on online zoom interviews (Although time is quickly flying by haha). In the meantime, feel free to email me at contact@samanthacarolyn.com and I can send any tips I have for online interviews your way. :)
Hey fellow Buffalonian!! Go Bills :)
How many interviews did you go to? How many times did you apply before getting accepted?
Hi Lorena, I went to five interviews before getting accepted and I only applied to school once!
Sounds like preparing for being a defendant in a criminal trial.
Hey, what was the GRE written portion was about?
The GRE essay section, also known as the GRE Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), actually comprises two parts: the Issue essay and the Argument essay. ... Both test your ability to write a thesis statement that you must defend over the course of several paragraphs.
The GRE essay is a bit different from the essays you may find yourself writing in your interviews, I’ll be sure to do a video all about the GRE in the future to help you guys prepare for that as well :)
how many interviews are there? I'm confused
Each school will offer an opportunity to interview once with their program, however the type of interview is where the variance is. Not every school conducts the interview the same way, so I give tips on this video for each type of interview style (mmi format, one on one, two on one, etc). The delivery of your answer may change, just slightly, depending on the style of interview you are presented with (which is what I hope to help you guys with in this video). Hopefully that makes sense :) feel free to email me if you have any additional questions/need further clarification : contact@samanthacarolyn.com
