    I picked a pair of SVH's a month ago here in Canada, so far they are the comfiest skates I've ever had. It took about 2 weeks for my skates to come in. I added extra protection and made the skate extra stiff. Stiffest skate I've ever seen and they are tanks! Can't really notice the weight difference, but for sure heavier when doing a side-by-side with my previous Vapor skates.

    I just received my custom svh skates. Ordered them 6 days ago and got here today. Less than a week for custom skates is absolutely unreal. My only problem I’m getting with them right now is the tongue keeps on popping off and or moving whenever I pull it back to get my foot in. Other than that it is a extremely comfortable boot. Going skating with them tomorrow! Might come back and give an update.

    I wear some skates that somebody else customed himself. Something went wrong with his customization and then the store had to sell them for less then 500 Euros. Luckily I know the owner of the store and he gave me those for a pretty pretty good price. I have nearly the same shape that the person that customized them had, so I just baked them 2 times and I can say that they really fit me like if they would be customed for my foot. This is by far the best skate I have ever worn. Feels like a sock to me and I have really thin or tight feet. Sorry for the bad English I’m from Germany

    When Tommy says he likes room in the toe length, curious if standing straight he still brushes against the toe box and then in hockey stance doesn’t feel it, or if he like absolutely no touching of the toe to end of boot, even when standing upright?

    I got my SVH 6 months ago and they’re the best skates I’ve ever worn. I ended up getting a crack in my boot on the composite part and took them to the shop where I ordered them from, they took pics and got on a call with their True rep. One week later I had a completely brand new rebuilt pair sent in, so for all the online complaints I’ve seen about True and their customer service not being good I have to say that’s completely false. No questions asked, new set of boots shipped to me.

As a person considering profiling, I am very curious to know what the bad experience was. I have heard nightmare stories of players accidentally getting two different profiles for each blade. But that is a shop error. Does Chris just skate on an out of the box profile now? Did the Zuperior, Quad, or dual radius feel funky. Please share if you can. Thanks.

    Question- being flat footed how will the boot accommodate that. Does it mould for arch support or will it mould as flat as per me feet?

    • @west26cali
      @west26cali Год назад +1

      I have really bad flat feet and True sent me the first custom skate which hurt a lot on my arch so they had me send them back so they could adjust them. When they sent them back to me it wasn't any better. I tried to just get use to the pain for awhile but after a month I contacted them again saying my foot still doesn't fit right in the arch area and they made a new pair for me. Unfortunately is seems like they didn't change anything about the boot because it was the exact same issue. Everyone I've talked to loves their custom skates but with my flat feet I guess it was too much for True to work around. Good news is they'll work with you to help, bad news it they may not be able to do anything.

      I have similar feet, and they rushed the skates out the first time, cat pro's. The shop I ordered them from rejected them, per quality control issues, and fitment issues for me. They upgraded me to SVH pros. We took more pictures and added more details in addition to the original scan. They came in 5 days later. I'm not sure who they were made for, but they did not pay attention to any of the notes we made. Tried lots of alteration methods with the skates but the issue I was suffering from in the beginning that made me go custom was ignored in making the skates. My local shop did get True to take them back and refund me. I ended up getting some fit 3 Bauer M5 supremes. They were way better out of the box, stock. Then after some baking and a few punches where my bumps are on my feet. They are 100% better than the True SVH.
      If you are considering getting the True SVH customs. Buy a pair of used ones, pro stock, for a third the price and bake them. It is actually better than going custom.

  • @swtprg
    @swtprg Год назад +1

    I got my Custom True skates a little over a year ago. I had an issue with them. I have very flat feet and noted that on the order. The scan that true does does not get the bottom of your feet. The skates where made with a fairly high arch. I could not skate on them. I worked with True's resolution team and they made me a new pair at no additional cost. The second pair they made for me are great. It is a little tricky to get the skates on b/c they fit so well. Once you have them on, the blades feel as though they are an extension of your foot. There is absolutely no flex or wiggle room in the boot. Very very stiff boot. If you have strange shaped feet it it so worth the extra money to get comfortable skates.

      I bought a pair of cat nines and had the same problem. They fit fine in the store but they got really large really fast. No amount of ratcheting down the laces could help. Back I went and got a refund. It turns out that true uses the same foot mould for all of their stock skates. So, if you traditionally wear something like a vapor, true stock skates are not for you. The custom Cat Pro will not be for you either because it's the standard wider foot mold and which is not compatible with a narrow fit foot. That leaves you with just the SVH as a custom option.

  • @michaelwong2885

    I’m sure if done right, any of the TRUE customs can be great skates.
    But here’s my horrible experience, I want to share this so you all can learn from it, and make wiser choices, or voice your concerns during the ordering process if you feel something’s not right.
    So date back to pre-Christmas in 2022, I ordered the full custom TRUE SVH…didn’t get it until January and it was made in the wrong size, TRUE made my full custom skates in my sneaker size!! How did they get my sneaker size?? For some weird reason their scanning app prompted to record the sneaker size for file records. Go figure!
    Then I waited over a month to get the “corrected” custom order, which still fit like a boat. I then waited another month, got the skates back, which didn’t seemed to have anything done or corrected with regards to the sizing problem…don’t even know what they did, but same old BS on sizing problem that it fit liked a boat. I later realized the toe box was too long. And TRUE was too lazy or too cheap to do the right thing, that is to rebuild my custom order from scratch. Shop owner told me TRUE was whining about having to correct my order multiple times and there’s no way they would take my SVH back for another correction. You know by this time it’s all BS….
    Shop owner felt so bad he took my full custom SVH in, swapped me with a pair of pro-return TRUE Catalyst Pro, and a $700+ in-store credit.
    I then also purchased a pair of Bauer Supreme Mach Pro intermediate Fit 2. Turned out it was too low and wide at the ankle opening, and I only managed to skate in them twice…sold it in Christmas 2023 for almost half the price. (Note to self, I do not fit the Supreme line. Vapor line is more suitable for me.)
    Today I’ve finally got my hands on a pair of Bauer Vapor Hyp2rLite with the salvaged money from the Mach Pro Craigslist sale, and I’ve also made up the difference with extra cash.
    If this all goes right, I’m therefore finally closing the purchase mistake cycle after a couple years, and after a couple skate purchases…much like those NHL player trades effect, eg. Ryan Spooner was the last remaining piece of the Mark Messier trade tree in Edmonton. 🤦🏻‍♂️
    P.S. This is to TRUE, if you are reading this, by no means I’m trying to tarnish your company’s reputation. I’m sharing my true experience here which I have text messages with the store owner here in Vancouver, and the receipts to back up my case.
