Soul Candy
PEZ:
1/4 cup of soda (clear soda works best like 7-Up, Sprite, ginger ale, etc.)
3/4 tsp gelatin
4 cups of powdered sugar
Flavored extracts
Food coloring
In a bowl, combine the soda and gelatin. Stir until no clumps remain and let sit for a few minutes. In a pan, heat up water and place the bowl inside and stir the gelatin until it completely dissolves.
In a mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine the soda/gelatin mixture and slowly add in your powdered sugar a cup at a time. Scrape down the sides with a spatula occasionally. When all of the sugar is in, it should begin to form a large somewhat sticky blob. Pour it out onto a surface dusted with powdered sugar and get to work!
At this point, add whatever color you'd like to your candy as well as flavoring. Then knead the powdered sugar like you would a pile of dough until the color and flavor has soaked through the entire mixture evenly.
To make our pez, we created our own food-safe silicone mold with a product called CopyFlex. You can find out more about it here:

The basic steps are to create something to pour the mold in - we used legos and made a small little basin for the mixture. Then after pouring the silicone in, place your Pez candies into the mold and let them sit right at the edge of the top. After 4-5 hours, the entire mixture will have solidified and you can remove the pez and voila! You've got a mold!
Once you have the mold, simply add in your sugary mixture and flatten it into each little slot. Wait about 24 hours and your candy will have hardened - then just take it out and you've created your own Pez candy for your Pez dispensers!

Then we removed the heads (if you slide in a thin flathead screwdriver you can push the little tabs that hold it in place). Then using a handsaw we cut off any extra bits of the Pez head that we didn't want. From there on out, it's all about using your hands to carefully add the Sculpey clay on one section at a time and smooth it out.
When you have something you're satisfied with, set an oven to 275 degrees F and stick your pez creations in there for 15 minutes to let them harden.
Re attach to the Pez and you're almost there! Print these documents out at a local printing shop or your own color printer:

I'm reading "Quarantine #1 The Loners" by Lex Thomas. It's honestly my favorite book ever right now. It's about an explosion that happens in the science wing of a school which causes an unknown outbreak of 18+ year olds dying. The government ends up finding out and puts the entire high school on lock down, by which point it's only the kids left because the adults have convulsed and died. It's insane, but super thrilling. Alliances are formed, things happen. Ah, it's so good. Can't wait for the second one! :)

I'm reading Good Omens right now, and it's the best book I've read in a long time! It's absolutely hilarious.
It's not a book you can read per say but for my birthday I was given a book called Humans of New York by Brandon Stanton. Basically this guy decided he was going to try and take a photographic census of everyone in NYC and this is probably by far the best gift ever. I LOVE NYC and photography, and it's just a really interesting book.
Also I totally screamed when I saw the Soul Candy because Bleach was the first anime I ever watched. I really hope I win a soul candy dispenser.

Overall rather good the only problem I have is that the actual candy pill of the Soul Candy is round..but I get that with this one you have to kinda adapt..unless you wanna make a totally custom candy dispenser that works like a Pez dispenser but with round candy that comes out of the mouth of the character.
I just realized this (7 months after my first post) but if you changed the shape of the mold you could actually use this to make Pokeblocks from Pokemon since the dispenser for them in the game is like a PeZ dispenser. I thought they would be softer at first but to be pushed up by a spring they would be more like this than a jelly candy.

Grace looked positively terrified of the notion of a gift before she saw it omg Grace who hurt you?! This whole episode was amazing!
I apologize but I have to speak up about something from this episode. It's more of a word of advice than anything. When using food coloring it's a bad idea to work over or on wooden surfaces. It can stain the wood and the color could potentially transfer to other items placed on that surface, not to mention it's a pain to clean out. Always work with food coloring over stainless steel, marble, or on top of something like plastic wrap which can be thrown away. I have memories from baking lab of my chefs snapping at people for working with food dye on wood so I cringed a bit lolll.
THAT ASIDE, I never would have thought to make Pez candy and this was a cool episode. I really want to try this out now!

I actually just finished listening to The Son of Neptune and The Boy In The Striped Pajamas. Two different but great books. Also, now that you've done Bleach, could you do one of the meals Asuna make sin Sword Art Online? I'd really like to see that and if you haven't watched it, do so.

The Goose PEZ dispenser is pretty awesome
I was reading Making Money which is about how a former crook gets in charge of the Royal Mint that's running at a loss, while having to take the Chairman out on walkies. But I moved onto Three Single to Adventures which is about 3 guys searching and collecting rare (and not so rare) animals in Africa... like Ant eaters, Capybaras and Opossums.
They're both good books... I suggest reading it, it's one of the few books that made me giggle out loud (I mean normally I just smile and that's it) although Making Money was confusing at beginning so I recommend getting at least to the 2nd chapter..
It's not that I really want the prize, but they're still good books. :P
Soo many channels "supported" by audible. You can get like every audiobook for free if you know all the channels. :D

My favourite book is Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice. It's the book that got me inspired to write horror stories. :)
I'm currently reading Dangerous Women by George R.R. Martin and Gardner Dozois (Editors) which is basically a collection of little novellas from various authors. I definitely recommend it :)
