    I have another question if you could answer please I would be grateful, when you filled the coolant and let the bike run to lose the air bubbles, for how long did you let the bike run and what temperature it was? I assume that you let it run so thermostat could open and then repeated process for how much times?

      I let the cooling fan come on twice when bleeding the system. Don't forget to refill the coolant reservoir once you are done. Any bubbles that come out will be replaced with coolant from the reservoir. I checked the level at the reservoir about a week later (of riding) and it had dropped a bit, meaning more bubbles for air had been pushed up.
      As long as you keep the correct level in the reservoir it will bleed itself.

    This was really useful, about to attempt the same thing on my CBR600F, did you notice any difference in temp from cleaning up the rad? Or was this purely for aesthetics? Thanks.

      Very hard to tell as I cant control the test conditions. All I do know is that dirty blocked rads dont cool as well as clean ones. Good luck.

    Hi I am impressed with your videos.
    I have a different question to ask... maybe you can assist?
    I have a CB600FA/2009/ABS.
    I am interested in fitting a HealTech GIPro plug n play gear indicator for my bike.
    With your experience with your bike, where is the Data Link Cable locates for this bike? It may also be referred to as the Diagnostic Port or OBD port ???
    I have stripped my right fairing off which is only fixed by one Allen key bolt and I cannot find anything.
    Your knowledge and guidance would be appreciated

      Grabbed them off ebay. They are ok, not great. Unless your old ones are worn out or warped I would keep them.

    hey great vid man! On my 07 hornet, the fan doesn't come on until the gauge reads 104 degrees Celsius. There is no stream from the bike though. could the gauge be reading wrong?

      If yours is wrong then mine is too. The fan only comes on when the thermostat opens AND the engine is still rising in temperature. It's like a backup to cool the coolant if there is no wind from riding, like when you are stuck in traffic. I would only worry if the fan comes on but the coolant temperature does not drop. My fan tends to shut back off again when it drops blow around 100c. Once the bike is warmed up normal seems to be anywhere from 85 to 100. Does your do the same?

      +risc19 I just bought the bike today and noticed it when I got home. Idling it goes up to 104 and the fan starts and brings it back down to the mid 90's. I always thought coolant should be kept below boiling point in 100 degrees, to avoid boiling the coolant away. That said, perhaps the honda coolant has a higher boiling point than water which means everything is fine. I am just a bit paranoid I bought a bike with a faulty thermostat or something.

      Well mine is basically exactly the same, so I wouldn't worry. I think I remember reading somewhere that damage starts to occur at around 120c. And no the coolant wont boil at 100c, unless it old and worn out.

    What are you filling up at 9:19, I only ever fill up the coolant under the seat...my Haynes manual is pants! :)Good vid!

      +Harlin67 I am filling from the "radiator cap" but it's not on the radiator on this model. Its a high point that easily lets you refill the coolant back up. However you must also make sure the expansion bottle is at level afterwards. 11:01

      +risc19 Ahh I see. So the same liquid\coolant, but you fill the radiator first, then top up the expansion bottle (I think). Thanks for the quick answer :)

      +Harlin67 Perfect! But what you put in at that fill point drops into the engine block etc because its after the thermostat.

      Well, tried this today, those top radiator bolts wont come, just spin around. I can see you have a wrench on the bolt side, however on the 2007 model the 'bolts' are just round sleeves, which move with the bolt. Highly, HIGHLY annoying ;(

      Oh man that sucks.
      I had a look at an diagram of the original parts and it IS different to mine. From the factory it comes with a 'captured nut' in a plastic sleeve The part number is 90111-KFB-000 (google it to find a picture). By the looks of things you will have to hold the flat captured nut from the back with a pair of pliers or vice grips then try to loosen the bolt. I guess with all the heat and spray from the road they will need to be 'encouraged' out.
      I'm guessing this is why mine is just a
      Bolt then rubber mount then washer then nut.
      Before you try again have plan to replace those parts as like mine, they may not survive.
