    It's crazy how this went from the slow, careful, mostly small scale combat to free form movement Dynasty Warriors in space.
    Also makes it a bit more believable that the Tenno didn't have the power to just wipe out enemy factions, but instead weaken them strategically.
    Back then they were more like a surgical strike team, now they're more like tactical nukes.

      To be fair this guy didn't use any of the old movement options, which were slower yeah but faster than what you see. I miss the old movement mechanics personally.

      @@Mecha_Hitler Nahhh coptering was annoying as hell. It limited melee options to just 2 or 3 (I only remember Dual Zoren and Tipedo tbh cause thats all i had at the time) weapons because if your weapon didnt have significant forward movement it was basically useless. And melee as a whole was just relegated to movement. That all plus having an actual stamina bar was just insanely tedious

      in these years they overcrowed the customization and the story, the majority is cool but some side quests and frames don't fit with the game original idea.
      Probably one of the most impactfull changes i suffered in the game is when they introduced the status system, it was so radical back them that some people left the game, the bleeding effect ruined part of the game magic in my opinion.

The mission were you learn about the man in the wall, the complete grim defeat of the Tenno during the new war, the exploration of the dark history behind the creation of the first warframes (seriously, the idea that they were living humans infected beyond recognition just so they could be possessed by patricidal void children is terrifying)
      Warframe hasn’t lost it’s horror themes, they are just overlooked by the players

    Ah yes this is the Warframe I remember where abilities played a much larger role in gameplay compared to today as weapons were relatively far less powerful at the time. This is why Loki was such a difficult starter frame to make early progress with, but fitted in so well with the demands of the game at the time - often rooms would be overrun with enemies more than what a squad could comfortably take on, so stealth and manipulation were really valuable tools to have available.

      @Cryoxiis 8 месяцев назад +11

      @@VoidSpecter080 correct, basically CC abilities were really important back then as the 'time to kill' was much slower especially for defence missions. Speaking of defence missions, back then rare mods used to only drop as rewards from defence missions so people were playing those a lot more + the mod fusion mechanic was very different where you 'upgraded' the mod level by fusing multiples of the same mod together. Therefore if you wanted to upgrade a rare mod you needed multiples of that rare mod....so people played A LOT of defence. Defence also worked differently - a wave was completed based on a timer not the number of enemies killed, therefore killing masses of enemies was meaningless and you actually needed to wait out the timer. So as you can see so many different game factors influenced the value of abilities - and CC abilities of any kind were at the top of the list. Heck, even Rhino Stomp was useful as an 'emergency' form of CC if you were getting overrun and needed to rez fallen teammates.

      I remember when I got blueprint of this instrument instrument of annihilation, the MIGHTY SEER of death. It was the first weapon blueprint I got so I didn't really think that SEER can be a MIGHTY weapon. Yet at that very moment there was whisper in my mind... It told me that I'm unworthy of that MIGHT and should never ever even try to use the MIGHTY SEER. I couldn't sleep for a week because of that. So I agreed. I was unworthy. I sold the blueprint and whisper never came back, just like the weapon itself. Now I'm in the state that I couldn't even dream to achieve. Yet at dark cold nights I sometimes still think... @@cralo2569 Well... The corpus are all about money, right? They want to show off how incredibly rich they are with all these fancy monuments and huge rooms and etc. And for the original commenter, the "Golden monuments and useless statues" are part of the worldbuilding since a large majority of the Corpus almost worship "Parvos Granum" like a wealth-god

      @hazeltree7738 Yeah, showing wealth is a common theme for factions built around capitalism, but I doubt that there are such rooms in any factory. Spaceships are not just a space house, you know, they are built with specific purposes be it a military ship, a mining ship or a trading one. There is a point to show how wealthy you are but not to your own workers.
      Given how miserable lore portrays the life of a regular corpus member it would be more fitting from a narrative perspective to style corpus ships around tight corridors, dangerous environmenments like narrow walkways without railings with a conveyor belt moving with near sonic speed alongside it, room with generator which pulls everything to it with crushing magnetic force at certain distance, assembly lines that have very wide sweeping motions that threaten 70% of the room space. Corpus as a faction seek wealth, so, cramped spaces that were desined to be as cheap as possible while providing maximum
      possible efficiency with little to no regard of personel safety is what corpus would create if they were lore accurate. Wide and rich rooms would be featured only in places designated for trading with non corpus members, or in personal quarters of various commanders or just general areas where they are spending their working time.
      This obviously would look like neither old or new tilesets, but old is closer, though there are interesting details in new tileset where you can see workers basically sitting inside the walls and under the floor behind a glass and this idea is very corpus.

      @VoidSpecter080 8 месяцев назад +2

      Considering phobos is a mostly infested planet, it would make sense too, lorewise, they would be just abandoned ships that the Corpus aren't going to spend credits to recover.
      Or maybe Eris was the infested-Corpus one, in any case would love for it to be back, maybe with the same lighting too because it looks incredible, we have a similar vibe in Chains of Harrow anyway

    • @montypython5521
      @montypython5521 8 месяцев назад +4

      @@hazeltree7738 That only makes sense for the Boss ships, regular corpus ships would be maximized for efficiency, carrying as much cargo and troops as possible so they can make as much money as possible, and then after that they'd make the walls and floors and what not look fancy. They wouldn't waste space because that's money lost.
      Their world building portrays the corpus as terrible with money making it unbelievable that they've got any. Like a ghetto rapper that lives in squalor but always has a new pair of nikes.

    Despite all the progress, all the content, even the quality of life changes of current Warframe, I miss this old Warframe.
    I miss the chunky, deliberate ways of this type of gameplay.
    Yes, even the stamina and old parkour. I still remember Excalibur's super jump, and how I'd bonk my head on random stuff.
    I wish they'd release a game mode nowadays that mimics this old style. I bet it would be very popular, especially for the veterans

      The game was about to die using this format back in the day, evolving it to the fast paced version we have right now is what made the game stay alive, get new life, and just Not Die.
      So IDK, If you make a game, you are about to go bankrupt because of it, but in a last ditch effor you make a big change, and that big change made the game a success and now you are far from bankrupt.
      Would you listen to someone saying to you: "You should go back to how it was before, it looked better" You KNOW it wasnt.
