Harvest cars, you'll end up with so much cloth...
@jawoodle ... So, you say you need cotton, but you disparage the farmer hat that help you find more seeds in loot. Finding more seeds gives you a greater chance to find cotton seeds. You say you need fabric but your coffee shop is right next to a big apartment complex with a bunch of beds you can scrap and curtains you can harvest.
Cotton is going to take in game weeks to pay off to get you the fabric you need.
Looting and scrapping your way through a motel and/or apartment complex would get you plenty of fabric in a couple in game hours.
I don't understand your approach in this case.. :)

Also, lots of fabric to be found looting a Savage Country, plus a chance for armor, armor parts, armor mods, and legendary parts.
you get quite a bit from wrenching cars, too
The best way to turn plant fibers into cloth is by breaking hay bales with a shovel, they give a lot of plants fiber and you can find them in every farm or animal pen poi
Savage country will get you all the cloth you need.
This was the comment i was looking for. i earned so much cloth from SC
Whenever I find a bonus pot or grill in a raid, I choose a spot to put up a campfire and start cooking any loot I can cook. Waters, glue, steaks, whatever. The stuff cooks while I continue raiding. The goal is to make a quick snack at the end, or consolidate water & bones & cloth into duct tape, or similar.
I either set it up in the same room or (ideally) near where my bike is. Having a bunch of campfires around the world sometimes comes in handy.
Sometimes I even set up a forge if I have the right materials on hand (pipes, leather, cobble, tape, wood).
Harvest the dead corn with your farmer pieces on, you'll get massive amounts of grass for cloth.
This is why i always break down curtains and beds in every poi. same with other stuff like carboard boxes, trash on the ground, blinds, etc to get paper and scrap polymers.
Cotton plants just aren't worth it. You go raiding, you enter a POI with 100 cotton in the curtains alone. Just stop leaving it behind.

Single point in living off the land and harvesting cotton is the way to go, grab a bone knife and get a lifetime supple.

berried supplies. i feel like its about how much you dig not where you dig . i don't dig down anymore . i go across and take top layer off . by the time that's does the circle is small enough to focus on that spot. also good not to get stuck in the hold you dug yourself in to when 10 zombies run in
This is how I do it, as well. Makes the best sense to me knowing you might get a spawn when the circle shrinks. I don't care that it takes more hits to dig the top layer of clay.
When it comes to buried supplies, tier 1 has a 25% chance to spawn zombies, tier 2 - 50% and tier 3 - 75%. Or so I've read somewhere.
@jawoodle But if you really want cotton, I believe the mausoleums have cotton planted in them.
Think it can also be found in the gardens of working stiffs buildings too
only POIs I found by looking for cotton in the blocks files for the POIs are farm_01 (Jericho Ranch) and house_old_modular_05 (The Gilbert Residence). If there are others, it might be a random plant helper that I am not seeing.
In true woodle 'plan later, muppetry now' fashion, failed to get shale when he was all desert and now will spend all day looking for cotten when he knows that it doesn't grow in the snow instead of just going into those residentail homes/military tents/hotels and just wrenching all the beds. One good military camp can fetch you almost 200 cloth. Woodle's got to woodle though.
Ha4vesting cotton and growing it in a farm becomes MUCH easier on cloth accumulation
cotton only grows in the pine forest. it will not grow in any other biome. You should have got cotton in the first week.
One can still buy seeds, and some farm POI’s have it.
@JanSolo555 you can only get cotton seeds from harvesting the plants and by turning the harvested cotton into seeds.
@@jonsmith9617 You can loot seeds from loot containers that contain seeds. You can buy seeds from the trader.
@JanSolo555 The only place I have seen cotton seeds has been in a farm plot box from a drop. I don't think I have seen them any other way. I will definitely keep an eye out at the traders. Edit.. just made the rounds, and only Rekt had the cotton seed
@@jonsmith9617 Rekt is the trader who specializes in farm stuff, so that makes sense. I haven’t found any cotton seeds yet. It might be my loot level. I’m only on day 5. I’ll let you know if I find any.

scrapping cars yields quite a bit of cloth too. put on those scavenger stuffs and wrench them down. you get a good bit of iron too for steel crafting.

Derelict houses in suburbia/outskirts sometimes have cotton, but its sorta locked in the green forest mostly with rare exception
Awnings, cars, and window blinds all have easily grabbed cloth. Military tents also.
Good info to have: you can always get harvest sand from the road edges

In this episode Josh spends almost the entire 33 minute's "touching cloth". I have my fingers crossed he manages to find cotton the hard way & doesn't just pop to one of the hotels to take apart all the beds as that would be boring.
Those mannequins would make me shid myself. My drone does too.
Dead Corn in fields of farming POI's give a good amount of Fibre to make cloth, better than collecting grass. Cotton is the best to collect to make cloth with the farms outfit, cotton seeds are not in loot any more and do not drop when collecting cotton. Cotton seeds can only be acquired from traders.

Cloth can be found at pop-n-pills on shelves. You might find cotton at the big hospital in the solarium.
If my memory serve well, I believe there is cotton at the Honey POI right next to the vendor in the front.
I've gotten to the point that I don't know what I would do without my daily dose of Josh. LOL Suggestion: I have found cotton plants in those little countertop chemical sets.. like they have in the hospital and underground facilities. Try those, you might find one or two.
Josh, go raid, one of the hotels or the old folks home, and you'll have quite a few stacks of cloth fragments.

A high level iron shovel can 1 hit most blocks, might need miner 69er, and is much less stamina per swing.. 💡
The Fun Pimps actually have made collecting cotton/farming cotton worthwhile in 1.0 instead of just for the king sized bed
Also cotton is found at shanty-shack farms (tier 1 with the trailer in the back yard)
I collect a lot early game, then never use it. I am an obsessive collector of resources, unlike our Joshie.

Go raid one of the clothing stores bud, you'll have more cloth in a few minutes than you would farming your own cotton for days...

i think you need the survivor house poi. it has cotton in the back, pretty sure.

Cotton only grows in the Forest biome.
Farms with dead corn or hay bales is best for plant fibers
Harvest Tents to get cloth fast.
Wooden chairs when harvested with an axe give 3 cloth 1 wood i believe.
I think the cloth is 20:7 with the plant fiber
I loved JaWoodle complaining about how hard it is to find cotton for cloth but yet drives right past a mattress, plenty of cloth to be found in cars, find a savage country.
20-1 cloth for fiber is insane. its always easier to me to just find curtains n stuff in residential places for cloth. forget the cotton

I was today years old when I learned that you can obviously make cloth from cotton. 1447 hours.
you could make and destroy some destroyed stone with mother lode level 3 and youll get enough materials to keep making more destroyed stone kinda like making and breaking dirt for infinite clay. also if you wanna get more from animals put points into huntsman as it can give you double the amount at lvl 5
Remember to destroy the cardboard boxes for paper. And fyi the player vending machines in Trader can make you good money say put 6000 stone in can make you 2000. Takes a few days to sell.
The auto shotgun is way better than the pump. And u keep skipping a bunch of cloth just because u want cotton

When needing plant fibers the fastest way I found was hay bales that is if u knew of any handy lol but love the content keep it coming mate 💯
Oh n i wonder if the electricity look is bc of the treasure hunter mod or the combo of that or whatever other strength/perception/fortitude mod? Personally I think it looks cool and switching them out n around could interrupt it n stop the animation which would be a shame lol 😂

I don't understand his lack of cloth. by day 7 in all my play throughs, I would usually have 3 full stacks of cloth. I am on day 29 and have 7 full stacks of cloth on this play through.

I think they changed the vender stuff. I rarely find weapons now and never a higher level than I have at the time. I used to find them all the time until the 1.1 update. I also almost never find the vehicle mods even though I do have a level in Grease Monkey. I also never see anything more than bicycle parts at the vender and no vehicle mods. I have found Fuel Saver and Off-road Lights and that is it and I found these. The venders have not had them. I have checked 6 venders and this is on day 13. I found the 6th vender by day 8, so that is 3 stocks for 6 venders. It has NEVER been even close to this bad.
I just got my 4x4 built. I have a legendary club and pump shotgun (with AP slugs) and legendary Raider armor (+60% melee). I was unsure about the Raider armor, but it has 100% resistance to stun, 60% to critical, I heal critical injuries 50% faster, and I can fall an extra 6 meters. Mostly though it was the melee damage. I have a legendary Nerd armor and legendary Enforcer Glasses.
