Okay Daphne will be mini in my heart forever. vocally this song isn't amazing but it isn't awful either . what I LOVE about them casting vanessa is she actually looks 19 which is how old mini is.

Ugh I miss the beautiful pain and understanding in Daphne's voice. A very "Sweet" karaoke of a song about a stripper trying to get her next fix... I dont think they understand the gravity this little song is supposed to hold and theyre young, they shouldn't. But "sweet"
I think she did amazing during this song. I've seen when she does "Out Tonight" which I think she didn't do to well but only because of allbthe running around that scene requires. When she's able to just be more relaxed her talent realy comes through. Was she the perfect Mimi? No. But she wasn't the worst either or horribly awful. I personally love the young spirit she brings to Mimi in this production that seems lacking in many.
The problem with Out Tonight was that the stage was way bigger than most Rent stages, and Out Tonight's not written for staging like this. So when she doesn't have to run around the huge stage, she's good.
She did so much better in this song than out tonight or anything. She's better than daphne I think daphne sounds awful. I believe Rosario was the best tbf. Was Vanessa the perfect mimi? No. But she wasn't horrific or bad either
her voice just isn't mimi. i dont think she fully understood the character either. she didnt go deep enough to figure out just little things for the character which bothers me, also her voice does not work for the song or any song in the show at all. she was not a good choice.

yeah, I saw it and I was very pleasantly surprised with vanessa's performance. and not impressed with aaron and julianne as a duo.
