Hey @Chills, the reason the lightning bolt had that flaming effect is due to physics and chemistry. The bolt was so powerful, it separated the water molecules in the air, forming a small area of concentrated hydrogen and oxygen. This gaseous mixture ignited almost immediately from the heat of the lightning strike, leaving a trail of fire where the strike once was.
You learn something new everyday, I think I have seen something like this before. & heard that explanation before.

The crash in the video was in Clearwater Fl. Mechanical failure caused the crash. Nobody died, or was even injured. Pilot & passenger both literally walked away from the wreck🙂

I remember the Newcastle tornado on number 11. I was at work down the street when it happened. People never really know how quick tornadoes can form and cause so much destruction. I hope Chills sees this comment.

Michael Killen yeah I live in st. Pete and that footage was from a crash the police knew would happen and nobody died the reason they got the footage was they were there to try and clear land for it to land

He wasn't "much too close to escape" from the tornado. Officers actually put themselves near tornadoes so that they can assist people that might need help and follow the path of destruction for that same reason. If you watch some videos of tornadoes moving through populated areas, you will often see police cruisers very close to the action.

#8 The temperatures created with lightning are very very high. What you see in this video is plasma. The air gets so hot the electrons are stripped off the atoms in the atmosphere. They glow brightly when this happens, in part because they are so hot.
This air takes time to cool down again and that is what you see. In fact, lightning always does this, but it is rare to catch it on video, and the effect is too fast to see it live.

It's not smoke, it's plasma. That is super heated air.
There are other things created as well, like nitrous-oxide. But mostly it is plasma.
The "smoking hole" mentioned is produced by something burning on the ground.

#9 deserves life in prison no parole. 5 times he has been arrested for DUI and it hasn't stopped him period. obviously he's been getting off easy thus far. Too many stories of people with multiple DUIs and then they kill someone and we are supposed to feel bad for them? I feel bad for the families and friends of lost loved ones that could easily be avoided if DUIs are treated more serious. DUIs literally should be attempted vehicalar manslaughter. anytime someone gets behind the wheel under the influence they can possibly kill anyone on the road or sidewalk that day.

I am sorry to hear that. My sister was paralyzed by a drunk driver that 6 times the legal limit. It was his 6th DUI. She died just a couple months ago from sepsis from a wound infection. So I totally agree. He only got 6 years. But was parolled after 3 for good behavior.

The reason there have been more meteorite sightings is because almost EVERYBODY, including many, many poor and homeless (I was one of these homeless people with various versions of iPhones the 4 times I've had to live on the street) have some form of camera/video camera in one way or another, therefore, you get more sightings. Oh, You NEED to have a countdown/video all about people's near-death experiences. Especially the scariest such as Bryan Melvin's story.
True. 10 or 20 years ago if you said "there was a huge flash of light and an explosion in the air out in the woods" everyone would call him a drunk. Even in the last few years smartphones have become much more available, my 60 year old mom lives in a trailer park in the country and literally everyone there has a smartphone, including her.
A lot of people love to try and make these sightings something that they're not. I love mysterious stuff but this isn't that at all. Basically most of the human race has a camera phone now which is why we have all of these sightings now. You hit the nail on the head with that one!

I feel sorry for that guy that was locked in his cars trunk. Me and my friend took turns seeing how long we could stay locked in a car trunk and I couldn't even hit five minutes. It's scarier than you might think
cody8804 when I was a kid I loved to ride in my parents/grandparents trunk for shorter trips because it was fun. Don't know why it would be scary, then again it's probably a different story now.
Sensei X was it a small trunk and locked? Maybe I have claustrophobia or something but the pitch black and small space and then you push on the trunk and it doesn't open panic just creeps in and snowballs. Also I wasnt a kid I was 16 or 17 which made my body take up the whole trunk

In #5, the pilot of the plane lived, and was not a famous person. On top of that, he called the police department to let them know he was going down. That's why 2 police cars were there, and the road behind the cars was empty

On July 16th 2012 A Police Officer in Utah got a suprise, while pulling someone, a batch of Flying Foot Lettuce, reportedly from Burger King flew into his windshield, the dash cam caught it all. Its unknown how this phenomenon occurs. The Officer Said "That's a lot of foot fungus!".

About the lightning bolt the way it caught fire was due to the lack of precipitation in the air, there was no rain yet and more than likely little humidity. So the lightning literally was hot enough to catch the air around it on fire. @Chills

This heat is also what creates the 'BOOM' of thunder. The lighting is hot enough to cavitate the air, burning away or forcing out molecules from the path of the strike. The sound of air rushing back into place causes the thunder.
Also, areas with high oxygen (like, say, a Bayou in Mississipi) will cause that to happen, whereas in a major city the air concentration is more mixed, and therefor it's rarer.
I believe it has something to do with gas in the air as well. we get dry strikes in Montana all the time and it does not look like that. I have witnessed strikes less than twenty meters and they dont do that

# 8 If you've never seen fire resulting from a lightning strike, then you really haven't seen much. Most of the strikes I've seen resulted in something burning; whether it was a tree, an utility pole or a house. A lightning strike momentarily creates temperatures hotter than the sun. Anything flammable in its path is going to burn. As a firefighter I've seen this happen a lot. It seems it hit a wooden post embedded in the road. It really is not unusual at all.

Back in the 80's our town had someone pulling people over impersonating an officer. They called him "The Blue Light Bandit". He was never caught.
He killed not one, but TWO people. And was going over 100 mph while choosing to drive drunk during what I’m sure was more than the fifth time considering this was his fifth dui. That means he definitely did that shit often and only got caught 5x. He should get life in prison in my opinion. FIVE DUIS? As if one is not bad enough.

Unfortunately, the system breeds these serial dui bums by continuously slapping them on the wrist and letting them on their merry way. It isn’t until they’ve killed someone’s child that anything gets done. Dude...they wear that belt everyday and are trained to do that while wearing that belt. Our guys in the military carry up to 100 lbs. The belts are like 10-20 lbs. I give him credit for that, but I wouldn’t be “surprised” that they roll around in a 20 lb belt that they were trained in.
