I want to go back to runescape, and my main combat gear was magic. Was afraid of the huge dominance necromancy had, and felt that it would be a huge learning curve + investment. I can't express how much this video was needed and appreciated! There's no online guide going in depth in magic PvM&action bar rotations, so thank you so much for this
I absolutely love this video. I can't tell you how hard it is to get into higher level pvm. Lots of information is assumed to be known, I've been using the strongest air spell on the regular book for literal years lol.
Magic rn is super cheap, 10/10 reccomend scooping the gear before its buffed again. It WILL be buffed. The fsoa is getting a buff, so is elite tectonic.
I"d love an updated guide including new T95 duals and their spec. Its incredibly good, but the backbone of magic is still FSoA sunshine rotations, but while it's in cooldown, you can do the bleeds and t95 spec rotations, so its kind of 2 rotations in the whole minute, 30s fsoa, 30s duals. (this is what i've been studying, but cant get a definitive answer) Also, gconc on 2h, is a game changer.
I think with new t95 bleed buffs, kerepacs wraps are no longer needed for combust, since corruption also has chance to drop all dmg in 1 tick with set affect, i wondered if this made spell caster gloves (10%+ dmg)÷ a good use other than cinders?
@@rickysevens 40% on your combust that you'll be spamming a bit more should still be more worthwhile than a passive proc on other basics that aren't bleeds. Maybe spellcaster could be an alternative if thet stat reduction is needed, but im not sure on that one.
@@CarguyRS having alot of fun when i can spam those abilities lol, i tried the iban staff after watching your video, never knew it hit so hard, nice instant dmg; quite fun to get 100 stacks and spam iban blast in a sunshine. Finishing a dmg rotation with t95 spec att is dropping huge dmg for 35% adren, magic feels abit more dynamic now
Just as a side note with the recent combat chanages the removed the ability to force an auto with the targeted magma tempest which is why the buffed its damage so high. Also snapshot and wild magic are the same now snapshot no longer rolls the second hit on the damage of the first it it 2 separates rolls now.
Thanks CarguyRS :D I was waiting for third combat style being Magic. I have fun watching these. I have most fun when im on magic after patch. Cryptbloom is just so fun to play with. Also this one is 51 min :O Will be lot of zoom outs 🤣
@@CarguyRS so I’m starting to run strictly magic currently. I do elite dungeons, kerapac, GWD2 and some others. I don’t really style switch. Is the Channellers something I should just camp or is it situational?
Can you explain to me why you wouldn't use Dragon Breath > Gconc > Tsunami > 2h Auto + FSOA Spec instead of Gconc > Dragon Breath > Auto + Tsunami? If you use the first order you have 15% critical strike chance on Tsunami and your next Auto will have the ability to also crit. Seems counter intuitive to waste your 15% crit chance on Dragon Breath.
can't 4t an auto after nami. even thought its not a "channeled" its like omni where it doesn't allow 4t'd autos on the abil afterwards. Can't remember if i mentioned this about nami specifically. if some1 isn't worried about 4t, can gconc the nami just fine. not sure which one is higher AVG damage, but yeah, another weird part about which abils can and can't be 4t'd with
@@CarguyRSregardless wouldn't it be more valuable to skip the forced auto attack before tsunami to use it with Gconc to get 15% crit to gain adrenaline and when you force the first Auto at the point of the next ability after the ability following Gconc?
I will say, g sonic is amazing at aoe clear when paired with greater chain. G sonic grants 8% damage per enemy hit stacking up to 80% damage increase for 4 seconds. with a Caroming 2h. Not even including exanguinate, you could g chain, g sonic, and you next few abilities for the 4 seconds do % more damage based on how many enemies where hit by g chain. Follow up with a magma temp or corruption blast and boom enemies are getting hit by trucks. Is it overkill, maybe but i would at least say g sonic is worth picking up Correct me if im wrong
Just got into RS3 from OSRS a while ago. Magic has always been my favorite playstyle. Strictly aesthetically, I can't stand dual wield. If im not exactly looking to sweat super hard, but still want to eventually get into some higher end bossing, is it grief to just camp staff? Or do I need to dual wield and only use the staves for swaps?
of all the differences that can affect damage dealt, gconc vs gsonic is probably the biggest one. However, staff camp can kill things just fine if you're not too worried about kill times. something to strike a balance would be use gconc, then staff the other abilities. (or, eventually learn 4TAA and get a mix of dw/staff animations) Overall, gconc is highly worthwhile to use, but its not like gsonic can't kill anything in game, just some dps differences. Keep enjoying the grind fam
It still works the same, and is about 7% less damage than tect. Only place I've really used it is pushing enr at zam on release, and very high enr glacor. Other than that, all bosses are fine with sliske/tect

mage melee would work, ranged melee could work, range mage could work, all have their strengths and weaknesses. mage/melee would be the most straightforward imo, because you don't need to put mobs in chin range, since melee has scythe. I'd just play with all the combos and figure out which one you like the best
for t90, it shouldn't matter at this point being you can use any mage ability with any mage weapon. The only time this would matter is when going for bis staff/dw, and at that point you want both.
Virtus will work if you're saving for other items, but eventually will need an upgrade. I'd say once you have fsoa/prayer/seismics, could look into upgrading armor.
