Allison & James, I am so STOKED to have “stumbled” upon your channel ! In the last couple of years I’ve been bitten by the sailing bug and have enjoyed both living vicariously through a couple of my favourite channels and learning some of the introductory essential’s about sailing. I’m probably about a year or two away from purchasing my first sailboat and have been in the preliminary process of where I might want to start my sailing journey. This is the reason why I’m writing you this note as I’m currently living in Calgary but will be starting my journey in the lower mainland area and have been planning on sailing EXACTLY where you are during this episode. I’m already learning a couple of things from this. So to keep this short, thanks for sharing your experiences and these destinations with us. I’ll be binge watching this entire series/season today and taking many mental notes. Wishing you both fair winds and following seas. Maybe one day I’ll be out there with you and do some buddy-boating.
Amazing!!! We’re so glad you stumbled upon us! Awesome that you’re feeling inspired to take the steps to be able to get out there and experience the magic first hand and that you’re planning to cruise this area, it’s seriously one of the best! So stoked some things from the vids are informing your journey. Hope you enjoy the GBR series, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Cheers mate!
@@rodneyallen5003 awesome way to follow along! We’ve been wanting to do up a cruising guide/itinerary since a few folks have been asking… And yes thank you, we got a sweet deal on some Patagonia gear so we’re a little drier now haha
@@AllisonandJamesSailing creating a cruising guide for the area would be fantastic. I think it was the previous episode where finding your way into the anchorage was a challenge due to the steep rocky terrain on each side of the southern end of the cove which hadn’t been updated for cruisers since ‘80s … great stuff guys ! I’ve become an instant huge fan of your channel. ( and congrats on that beautiful Salmon ! )
Love your beautiful photography! My Wife and I must experience it first hand some day with a cruise. :) I don't think our vote is AA004, which is on top of the page but it says 350 votes, so we're in there somewhere! Good Luck!
Hi there! We love your channel. the photography is great! we are BC'ers and love to see this spectacular part of our province. We sail on Kootenay Lake on a Catalina 30 as well. Just wondering what cruising guide(s) you are using for your adventure. Our voting number is 357. I never got an email to confirm it yet. So am hoping our vote will still count for you!!⛵
Hi neighbors! So glad to hear you’re enjoying our videos! We’d love to check out the Kootnays, we hear it’s an awesome place! Starting out farther South (French Creek) to the Broughtons, we enjoyed the Dreamspeaker guides but mostly relied on Navionics. From the Broughtons onwards North we have been using a combo of Navionics and insight from locals, but would also highly recommend grabbing a copy of ‘Exploring the North Coast of BC’ by Don & Reanne Douglass. Are you thinking about bringing your Cat 30 out this way? Thank you so much for taking the time to vote! The email they send you will include a ‘link to confirm your vote’ once you click on that link you have voted. Did you receive that one/initial email?
Thanks Guys. We'll find some of the guides you suggest. Yes, the Kootenai's are terrific at any time of the year. Check us out!! Yes, we are bringing our boat to the coast in the next year or so. Tying up a few things here first. Never did receive that voting email to confirm so i don't think our vote will count! 😒@@AllisonandJamesSailing
We use to! It ripped out of our aging Genoa a few years back and our leech has been happily flying free ever since :) we are currently shopping for a new headsail so we can send our current Genoa off the retirement village.

New to station where did you start what time of year . Would like to do the same in a Catalina 27
We started this season in the Broughton Archipelago in early July. Most folks start heading North earlier, depends how far North you want to go!
