You've probably seen and played quite a few games where you have to put out fires. But Into the Fire is likely the first to add a surprising mystery element - ​​complete with fire demons and the like. The team behind this intriguing indie project is Starward Industries, which already made waves in 2023 with the sci-fi adventure The Invincible.
I was given a detailed presentation of Into the Fire some time ago, and I found it so interesting that I wanted to tell you more about it - because the game has quietly crept onto my "must-play in 2026" list.
In Into the Fire, you take on the role of Frank, a journalist and explorer who travels to the remote, yet inhabited, Dante Archipelago to write a story.
Unfortunately, a massive volcano erupts at that exact moment, transforming the island into a nightmare of lava flows and firestorms. Frank, of course, has to escape the island, but selflessly decides to save as many other people as possible first.

Ich weiß nicht mehr, wann und wo ich den Trailer dazu zuerst gesehen habe, aber Optik und durch Feuer und die Prise Mystik erzeugte Atmosphäre haben es mich seinerzeit sofort wishlisten lassen. Ich freu mich drauf!

finde grundsätzlich alles mal spannend, was nicht gerade nach unkreativem Franchise schreit - wenn die Grafik reduzierter ist und entsprechend weniger Hardware benötigt, finde ich das bei den aktuellen Hardwarepreisen auch voll fein.
