ER Tech here (medic student too), thank you for going in depth as much as you could with this. My unit uses these and they don’t train techs on this, but I wanted to learn more in case I have to transfer a patient and their blood transfusion or dopamine gets interrupted, at least I’ll have the knowledge on how to fix the issue instead of shit hitting the fan and me giving the answer “I didn’t know what to do”
Thanks we use this pump at work and I didn't know how to do a bolus I've been just setting it up in 999ml/hr which is as per the order your way makes it easier
thank you so much for sharing. A new nurse here. May I know how to taper let's say from 200 ml per hour for 5 hours then taper to 100 ml per hour.. how do i taper to 100 ml per hour?
Hello! I am trying to quickly find a resource on ramping up/ramping down TPN. Is there a section on how to pre-program a ramp up/ramp down? If so, what section of the video is it in?
When this pump is paused, does it flash pause? What does the pump's data look like when paused? How do you shut it off? Can it infuse by accident when shut off?
Hello, and thank you for your question. When the pump is paused, it will show the screen with the words "pump stopped." If it goes 2 minutes with no activity, it then alarms. When a pump is turned off, it doesn't cause free flow. If you need any further questions answered, reach out to our iv pump professionals at equipment@medonegroup.com.
Not very helpful. You glossed over tubing and how it affects the running of the pump. When you hung the secondary bag there was a dependent loop at the pump. Dependent loops at the pump or y-site can eventually cause the pump to alarm or stop working. I work nights in a hospital. I have to change maintenance fluids and start medication with existing tubing. If the pump has been running with a dependent loop, It will alarm and stop running when I replace fluids. I run into this problem all the time. The info on the Bolus was helpful. 0328

Alaris is a superior pump. That pump should be standard in all hospitals

Excellent video, was very informational!
Does the secondary bag tubing need to be a specific tubing?
Hi Matthew! No special tubing is needed just needs to be a secondary set.
How did you actually remove the air?
Does it matter if you use a 10gtt or 60gtt tubing?
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
