Do 8,9,10 year olds even understand The Office? I mean, it’s hilarious and I love it, but outside of the humor aspect I appreciate it because I understand the reality of the workforce, since I’m an adult and have been it for years. I can’t imagine a child being a true fan, as the show deals with a lot of “grown up” matters. Again, not to say the humor can’t be enjoyed by everyone. But an 8 year old?? 🤔
My son LOVES it! I couldn’t believe he said other kids my son’s age love it too. He begs me to watch. I filter the episodes he’s allowed to watch to weed out any sexual content. But yeah, it’s my son’s favorite show to watch.
Colette Brooks that’s interesting! The comedy is gold so I totally don’t blame anyone who loves the show (I do!) I’m just thinking back to when I was a child... I would not have understood many things that were going on lol Not only the references and jokes, but the world of corporate business would have been a completely foreign concept. Maybe I just wasn’t the brightest kid? 🤷🏼♀️😂😂
PrairieLady It’s definitely not you 😂😂😂 I loved Night Court as a kid around the same age, but I didn’t understand the humor the way my son (and I guess other kids) does with The Office. I only watched adult TV and laughed because there weren’t any options and my mom was watching. These kids choose it 😂😂😂 odd!
I really don't see how they would either. I guess I can see how Ed's character would be funny to children though, like with the impression he did in this clip and I think he did more physical type of comedy. I could also see how they would find Michael Scott funny, he is another sort of immature character who does a lot of physical stuff, makes funny voices, etc. I was just surprised when he said that that parents find the show appropriate for kids that young, but who knows maybe I watched those sorts of shows when I was that age too.
My daughter loves the office since she was little, she's 14 now!☺
