As an Arab from Saudi Arabia, I support Israel for commonsensical reasons. The Palestinians are NOT Arabs, read the history and who can be correctly called Arab.
Why do you think Palestinians should leave their land, leave behind their lives, their homes and be refugees? Westerners don’t want refugees - why should Arabs want them? Apart from the fact that countries like Iran, Pakistan, Lebanon, Türkiye and others in the region already have the biggest refugee populations in the world. Others like Libya, Yemen, Iraq or Syria have been destroyed by the ‘bringers of democracy’ and have enough problems already. Yet others (Egypt) suffer from very precarious domestic political situation.Their populations are pro-Palestinian and angry at their inaction, but the action thy demand is not accepting refugees but helping Palestinian fight. • In 1937, the Peel Commission proposed the partition of Palestine and the creation of an Arab state. • In 1939, the British White Paper proposed the creation of a unitary Arab state. • In 1947, the UN would have created an even larger Arab state as part of its partition plan. • The 1979 Egypt-Israel peace negotiations offered the Palestinians autonomy, which would almost certainly have led to full independence. • The Oslo agreements of the 1990s laid out a path for Palestinian independence, but the process was derailed by terrorism. • In 2000, Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered to create a Palestinian state in all of Gaza and 97 percent of the West Bank. • In 2008, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offered to withdraw from almost the entire West Bank and partition Jerusalem on a demographic basis. • In addition 1948 to 1967, Israel did not control the West Bank. The Palestinians could have demanded an independent state from the Jordanians. On the contrary whilst Jordan was in control Arafat said there was no longer a claim as it was no longer part of Palestine. Once it was back in Israeli hands it miraculously became disputed land again!
Yeah, nah, even Israelis themselves, including those involved in the so-called ‘peace negotiations’ have admitted that Palestinians were never offered independence or a sovereign state. That includes ex-PM’s. Even Rabin, who was supposedly so kind and full of good intentions wasn’t prepared to grant them that. Palestinians (including Hamas) have repeatedly expressed agreement with a two state solution. They even agreed to accept the paltry 22% of their original land. But Israel was never going to agree to that as Netanyahu has stated repeatedly. Sharing Palestine with others was never the intention. As Ben Gurion said, it doesn’t matter if Israel starts small, over time they’ll take all the land they want. “a Palestinian state in all of Gaza and 97 percent of the West Bank“ is not a state. These are two pieces of land separate from each other. Also, curious to know which 3% of the West Bank did Israel want to keep and why? Aren’t you? You should’ve started before 1937. At least 20 years earlier or better still at the end of the 19th century.

Simply put, when the Jewish people left Canaan over a millennium ago, their potential to reclaim the land by force-relying on ancestral ties-may have been feasible, but attempting to sustain control through outdated power politics resembles the narrow “Wild West” mentality of 19th-century American expansion. If Israel follows this approach, mirroring the American disregard for South American neighbors, they risk perpetuating regional animosity rather than fostering shared progress. If Israel continues to avoid sharing its social experience and material achievements with its regional neighbors, the situation could escalate into a modern-day deadlock. Similar to how the U.S. faces challenges from large-scale legal and illegal immigration, Israel, driven by religious and cultural differences, may face growing isolation despite its high-tech security measures and physical barriers. Given Netanyahu’s hidden agenda strategies, which some argue prioritise self-interest over long-term peace, deepen this life-or-death stalemate. The consequences of this approach will inevitably spill beyond national borders, affecting not only Israel but potentially igniting wider regional and generational conflicts, and the resurgence of international terrorism. These repercussions may spread far beyond Israel’s immediate security concerns, becoming a lasting source of instability for future generations.

Gaza has been treated like a open air prison for decades. The lose of Palestinian lands while Israel offers those land to Jews who live all over the world to come to Israel to live there and take over that land does not sit well for the Palestinian people or for the Neighbors around Israel. For decades the government of Israel has been denying the basic human rights to the people of Palestinian and when responding always doing so with increased violence. Basically people will only allowed to be beaten down so long before they have fight back. But Israel's arrogance through the years and through their belief that they're stronger than their enemies have led them to know peaceful Solutions and only responding always with increased military powers. What has happen does not surprise me one bit. The sad thing is 90% of those who will be harmed by this has no personal responsibilty for this and those who been making horrible choice will continue to make them. You have children throwing rocks a 100 ft away from a Israeli soldier who is in riot gear and those rocks would cause no injury. However instead of soldier ignoring the problem or even just throwing the Rocks back at the kids they're literally shooting at the kids like target practice with military Long Range High caliber rifles. Yep that looks good to do that to a bunch of 10 years old. Isreal is here from there inactions and refusal to understand there polices of power are not policies of ensuring peace, only control. Gaza is like the Warsaw ghetto and the people have about that much freedom when it come to be able to leave. They cannot leave that strip of land ( a whole 25 miles unless Israel gives them permission) The bubble has burst. Meanwhile how do you think the people of Gaza have felt all these years. But when you do tatics that kill innocent people or purposely limit things like food and opportunities the Palastein face it does not sit well and people will fight back. I don't know why America supports Israel anyway because they certainly have not done anything to help us, that's for sure. They just keep drawing us into wars that are really none of our business.
I hope you don’t mind if I offer a few clarifications based on historical context and well-documented facts: Firstly, the comparison between Gaza and the Warsaw Ghetto is not accurate. The Warsaw Ghetto was a horrific situation during the Holocaust, where Jews were systematically starved, abused, and ultimately sent to extermination camps. While Gaza certainly faces hardships, it's important to recognize the different historical contexts. Gaza is governed internally by Hamas, a group that has been responsible for starting conflicts over and over, massacring its own internal dissidents, launching thousands of rockets at Israel, and using civilian areas for military purposes, which complicates the situation significantly. Israel's restrictions on Gaza, including the blockade, are largely a security measure aimed at preventing weapons from entering the region. It's worth noting that both EGYPT and Israel control Gaza’s borders, with EGYPT enforcing its own restrictions on the Gaza-Egypt border. Regarding the land issue, Israel was established in 1948 following a United Nations resolution, and the Jewish connection to the land dates back THOUSANDS of years and It’s important to mention that Israel has offered land for peace on several occasions, such as the Camp David Accords in 2000, but negotiations have often broken down, due to the Palestinian side. As for Israel’s response to violence, it’s vital to acknowledge that ANY COUNTRY facing security threats, including frequent rocket attacks targeting civilian populations and terror attacks, would seek to protect its citizens. The claim that Israeli soldiers target children is false and not supported by any credible international investigation. Israel’s military response, like that of any state, is subject to international law and scrutiny. It's also critical to remember that Israel’s military is defending against groups like Hamas, which openly calls for Israel’s destruction, the annihilation of Jews and is always using civilians as human shields, which they readily exploit through social media. Gaza has seen years where goods and humanitarian aid have flowed freely, but they always end when their leaders decide to increase violence and launch terrorist attacks, which naturally results in Israel tightening its restrictions for the safety of civilians. Gaza has historically prioritized conflict over development, investing in weapons rather than infrastructure for their people, which contributes to the dire situation. Best regards
- not an open air prison, there is a border with Egypt. - Israel has trade with Gaza (at least before their heinous acts) and also provides 13% of their drinking water. The classic argument “they are just fighting back at Israel” is laughable. Raping woman, children and young peaceful people at a music festival has exactly nothing to do with fighting back. And they are excited about it, brag about it calling their parents. People in the west including you from probably Germany or Switzerland need to get rid of their conceived notion that Palestinians just want to live in peace. They are indoctrinated since childhood to believe in a death cult (Islam) - where you get straight to paradise when you **** a Jew. Unfortunately people like you are too far gone and fell for the victimhood propaganda of the Palestinians and the Muslim world. They are purposefully building military installations under civilian areas, fight in civ clothing etc- all in the effort to have more Palestinians killed to arise even more pity. It is sad. Hopefully you’ll never have to find out how wrong you are with your peace loving ideals about Gaza and Muslims. Go ahead to Gaza , Iran , Pakistan and declare you are gay or dare to say anything against Allah - you ll not leave alive. Ah well, I forgot Muslims have a history of killing cartoonist in the west, too. The horrific acts of October 7th could have been prevented if the 2 years of peaceful protests by the Palestinians hadn’t been ignored by the world. Why is a 2 state solution so hard for the world to recognize and support.
@Why_Dude_Why are you serious with this your ignorant statement? Post 7 Oct 2023, Israel actions shocked the world. The judicial reform was forgotten. As of September 2024, Palestinians in Gaza faced a grim tally of the carnage: at least 41,431 dead, 95,818 injured, and 1.9 million displaced out of the estimated 2.2 million population. Only seventeen out of thirty-six hospitals were partially functioning, and much of Gaza’s buildings have been destroyed by heavy bombing that rivals the destruction of German cities in World War II. A satellite imagery survey in July 2024 estimated that 63 percent of Gaza’s buildings had been damaged, including 215,137 housing units. Life grew desperate a few months into Israel’s military campaign against Hamas forces as Israel closed border crossings into Gaza and Palestinians scrambled for food, water, medicine, money, and shelter, relying on aid packages that were slow to arrive. The UN Office of the Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs reported in September that 46 percent of aid deliveries were impeded or denied outright to Palestinians in need. Israel has also faced mounting concerns over the abuse and death of Palestinians detained since the start of the war, as footage has surfaced of various alleged atrocities.
Yea war is shit... don't start them. Gaza was autonomous, what judicial process are you talking about? Taking hamas to a Palestinian court ? While hamas are still launching rockets into Israel?
Let's take final design which wasn't taken from the decades , and clear this dispute
Aren’t you?

Blah blah blah.

You are aware that the use of "blah, blah, blah" is considered an immature expression of personal speech. Right?
As the saying goes you can fire the first shot in a conflict but you have no say on who will fire the last shot.
They cannot leave that strip of land ( a whole 25 miles unless Israel gives them permission)
The bubble has burst.
I hope you don’t mind if I offer a few clarifications based on historical context and well-documented facts:
Firstly, the comparison between Gaza and the Warsaw Ghetto is not accurate.
Pure coincidence of course and not representative of the teachings of Islam (please read the damn book and inform yourself a bit. Compare it to the Bible or other scriptures)
keep lying 🤥
Fisalmoon. If he's lying then point out where and refute what he said or go back to Chaturbate where you're an expert.
Ayotollah khomeni in 1979. Said it. .
Somehow this is an attempt to make Israel look bad, Israel has a right to defend theirself
Thank you, DW, for bringing us this documentary. There are no winners in war. Only truth, justice, and reconciliation will break the cycle of this endless conflict. This only makes me appreciate Nelson Mandela even more for coming out of prison and choosing the path of reconciliation over revenge. Had he chosen the path of revenge, we could be looking at a very different country today.
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
No, Israel did take them seriously. Israel allowed it to happen, so they can use it to garner support from the population to deal with this threat once and for all.
The peace party thing was organised for maximum casualty.
Peace for all
The definition of trauma is deep and manifests daily in our lives
Hostages still held by Hamas
Apart from the highly complicated origins of the conflict, I found that video quite objective after all. In this region, it seems only hate or fear of the other side is cultivated which is a sad state of situation. Will this conflict resolve to peace in my lifetime, sadly, I doubt it...
both sides seriously. one is inflicting terror on poor stateless people. and u know which one that is.
It is untrue that Israel and Hamas etc. are boath acting irrationaly because they are traumatized. HAMAS declared war by invading Israel and then ensured massive civilian casualties in Gaza by using Gazan civilians as human shields. Examining history will never change these recent well recorded events.
Thank you for this nuanced documentary … we lose nothing from mourning innocent lives … our identity should be expanded and we should fight for a better future 🫶🏽
So true that when people see themselves as victims they eventually become perpetrators
The guy said so many innocent Palestinians were killed at the fence. Always played the innocent civilian cards. The moment they attacked Israel, they were no longer innocent civilians.
They are known for playing the victim card.
Whoever made this film needs to learn history.
one of the greatest mistake by a terrorist organisation hamas
very constructive docu about this difficult subject
Imagine oppressing people for 80 years then turning around and acting like the victim.
Let Israel live in peace
Muslims should learn how to live peacefully with others
Stop it Sam Sam you IDF bot. People aren't playing your game anymore.
Max. They're in their own countries not bothering anyone else. What's USA doing in the M.E?
Serious question Max. They're in their own countries minding their own business. USA though is in the Middle East. What is USA doing in the Middle East?
About 5-6 years ago I saw a news segment where young Palestinian and Jews were in an out side public eatery talking and enjoying themselves. The interviewer asked them about the conflict and both Palestinian and Jews said look around, we all get along, we are all smiling, we all coexist and the nonsense needs to stop. They were smiling and laughing. Now this! What happened? Terrorism happened that’s what happened. So very sad.
The horrific acts of October 7th could have been prevented if the 2 years of peaceful protests by the Palestinians hadn’t been ignored by the world. Why is a 2 state solution so hard for the world to recognize and support.
@Why_Dude_Why are you serious with this your ignorant statement? Is literally even in the Hamas charter that they will recognize Israel and make peace with it if Israel agrees to a 2 state solution within the 1967 borders,Israel is the stronger side here and they have never offered Palestinians a full autonomous state.
This documentary leaves out the fact that the so-called "peaceful protest" you are referring to was very much violent. During the great March of Return, Palestinians in Gaza sent over to Israel incendiary kites and balloons, creating fires that would ultimately damage infrastructure and the environment.
@@KT-pe6zh - the documentary mentioned that the peaceful protests became more violent over the two years. You can see that in any long term protest that goes unanswered. This one in Gaza is the same, but lasted 2 years. Plenty of time to negotiate with the Palestinians.
Abraham Accords❤
Did you learn lesson? Never hide terrorist and weapons inside your home, school and hospitals. Your bad karma comes back to you.
Exactly, by that logic ALL of Israel is a target, in fact, by that logic all countries and territories could be rationallized as targets.
No, in a place with over 5000 people per square kilometer there is always security and militias close by, there is not enough space...by design of the israelis so they can have an excuse to attack them with the IAF (Israeli attack forces)
Hindus worship Varaha the boar incarnation
I hope the Gazans will understand that it is better to choose life
People with those "double standards" comments clearly didn't get past the 15 minute mark of the documentary. This is an exceptional reminder of the humanity of all parties involved; that people are not their governments, that people do not choose this or want this, and that all anybody wants anywhere is to live safely. That there are no TRUE winners in a war; everybody loses, because ALL survivors are traumatized. People are getting dragged into things they'd really rather do without, and some random trolls sit online and declare this "biased" just because it's not focusing solely on the thing they want to hear.
War is ugly for everybody. Both sides deserve to be heard. If your idea of justice consists of an entitlement to neglect any perspective other than your own, go check your own standards, if you have any at all.
WAR u said.. When the settlers have been doing nasty things to the native people of West Bank. They even blockade their mosque that they can't practice their religions ritus there... Idk why some ppl still dare to say that this is a war unless those ppl haven't educated themselves enough on this topic. It's a classic ongoing occupation and some militias groups decided to fill that vacuum to fight against that ongoing occupation. Simple as that
The idea that you can move yourself to a land already occupied and evict the original occupiers by force is wrong.
Exactly. War is ugly for everybody - for Nazis as well, for oppressors, for occupiers, for colonizers etc Right? It's easy to see how ugly was the war for one side having a music festival and partying just hundreds meters away from the people they imprisoned...
How about the settlers? There are hundreds and thousands of them. Representing a sizable portion of Israel. Nearly 10%
Imagine had they framed it with a headline: "Trauma in the Middle East: The terror of Israel's violent colonialism and the resistance to genocide | DW Documentary". Exceptional reminder of the humanity of all parties my ass.
Most of this documentary is BS . the palestinians live in lala land , they could stayed but they want all ! And they have a limit with Egypt, why they muslim brothers dont help them !Hamas is their enemies
NO. FACTORYS OR DEVELOPMENT SAME AS SYRIA.
@@tuforu4 No hospitals or universities or cancer wards or NICU facilities either. What a bunch of savages. It's almost like Israel blocked all their trade, bombed their civilian infrastructure to make life as miserable as possible to get them to give up and leave so they can have the land.
super informative
What a propaganda... that land was never the Palestinian to start off
Will DW make a documentary on Kashmiri Pandits, the original residents of the whole of Kashmir.
Mind blowing documentary 👌 🙌 👏 🙏
Israel gave hamas 3 days to return the hostages or they will invade. The invasion was delayed by weeks pending any diplomatic solution.. hamas kept firing rockets the whole time. Judicial process? .. only war can possibly follow.

Israel exists on Israeli land.
@@AdamAdamHDL What a myth!
Blame Hamas.
Thank you DW for this documentary. We can make comments here but ultimately it all depends on the decision of the people who are affected. As an obeserver from a different country I can only say that as long as Israel can stand out, other countries like Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabai, UAE, Qatar and Oman are not run over by people with evil intentions.
