  • This video presents an experiment demonstrating the evolution of carbon dioxide by living organisms. Sodium hydrogen carbonate indicator is used to show that carbon dioxide is released by living morio worms.
Sodium hydrogen carbonate, also known as hydrogencarbonate indicator, is a pH indicator that detects changes in carbon dioxide concentration. It is commonly used in experiments studying photosynthesis and respiration. The indicator appears red under normal carbon dioxide levels, turns yellow when carbon dioxide levels increase, and becomes purple when they decrease.
