Scottie has been the architect of his development. His goal was to become a complete player and that is what he has become. He doesn't need to be the top scorer. He understands the game and his goals have always been commensurate with being as valuable as possible to the Raptors.
Tbh I never want to see a team intentionally tank and I'm glad to see we aren't doing that as it's no guarantee of getting the first pick. We definitely need to beef up on D though. Indy very nearly embarrassed us late and we need players who know how to kill off games a lot earlier
Love League Pass to (a) avoid commercials, and (b) hear the away team broadcast. Quinn Buckner of the Pacers is a good one. He really explains technically what's happening on the court. He (and Caitlin Cooper) can thrive in Indiana because their fans are so knowledgeable.
I hope that when watching Scottie’s possessions on League Pass they give some context to the possessions. Sometimes the plays and shots Scottie took came as a response to when the Pacers and Halliburton especially started to make a run. I think that speak volumes to the level of play we’re getting from Scottie.
Im very encouraged by Scottie's increased ability to maintain his handle in tight spaces. I'll take the turnovers if he can take a few more risks in developing that ability. I wonder if there is a path to making RJ Scottie pick and rolls effective? Are they too similar in size so teams would just switch for it to be fruitful?
Since the max number of games the rookies on two-ways can play is 50 games, it'll be interesting to see how many get converted or sent down even when they're playing well.
@@raptorsrepublic I guess the follow-up question would be who deservves the full NBA contract. At this point Battle gets my vote and maybe Mogbo since he's taken all of Fernando's minutes recently. I'm eager to see what happens in the next couple of months
Imagine a couple weeks agopeople were saying RJ is the star player on the team. I said this in his rookie season. Scottie will be MVp of the league eventually.
Barnes, is playing like a perimeter player because he is a perimeter player. He needs to take those shots to open up his game and create space and opportuinities for his teammates and himself. When he goes downhill it's because it is there not because you want him there. Influencing the entire court is how he plays and shooting from distance and an improved handle will elevate his game into superstar level. He's not far off now, I expect that by the end of this year he'll be going through that door. It has always amazed me how one dimensional many sports analyts are. There are many aspects to many players that go unmentionned be they negative or positive simply because the depth of understanding is so simplistic. It's why people think NN is a great coach, Siakam is a great player, FVV is a top 5 PG... all laughably wrong. There were many good things about these fella's and much that was not so good and we hardly ever heard the truth about any of them because no one looked at the full picture, couldn't see the forest for the trees. I hope this changes in TO because it's becoming too painful.
It's too early to say if the Raps are "too good to tank". The Pacers are going through stuff right now, so smashing them at the SBC isn't as impressive as it might look. Same with the Pels last week. Splitting with the Heat was a fair result, but the Heat aren't that great. Let's see what happens against the Thunder and Knicks. In any case, Masai & Co. are certainly capable of finding gold in the low lottery.
That’s so silly. Anytime we beat the Heat, it’s an achievement which you shouldn’t downplay. These are rookies holding their own against experienced players. Give credit where it’s due. Go Raptors Go.
Where’s the RJ vid clips? Only Scottie was worthy? I hate how you guys cover RJ. If he can’t even get a fair shake from local guys covering Raptors, he has no shot with the National media.
He didnt do anything different than he usually does. If u watch the rest of the vids on the channel he’s covered him plenty. Scotty doing what he did today, was new.
The local Raptors analysts recognized significant improvement from his production in New York. But I feel your comment. I think RJ deserves more love and praise from Raptors nation, based on his talent alone. As a Raptors fan since 95, when there was no Canadian talent, I recognize the growth and development of the sport in the county and it is special to have a Canadian on the Raptors who is a key contributor and who clearly takes pride playing in Canada. That is special and we love it.
Very nice to see that Scottie has improved and grown into his all star status
Scottie has been the architect of his development. His goal was to become a complete player and that is what he has become. He doesn't need to be the top scorer. He understands the game and his goals have always been commensurate with being as valuable as possible to the Raptors.
And I'll take type of guy any day all day over someone like Lamelo Ball or Paolo Banchero.
PURPLE REIGN 🔥🔥

Good work, thanks.
Scottie got injured, we lost. Scotties back. We win! Love this team.
RJ was the 2nd best player for the Knicks when they made the EC Semifinals in the 2023 playoffs.
It was still only a 15 game sample! It’d be good to get more info
@ Huh lol? It was the playoffs. By nature they are 7 gms series. He performed well. You have the information. IQ was horrible.

Completely agree

Battle’s 50 game limits right after the trade deadline funny enough

well said

Good little test for them coming up, totally

Go Raptors Go.
Go Raps!
A tank would be smart. Boucher and Brown, won't get us a big name
Look at our next 7 or so games. I dont think we win more than 1 or 2 at the most. The tank will continue
Idk! Chicago and Miami just got added to the schedule. They’re also getting healthier. I wouldn’t rule out going like 3-5 or something
@raptorsrepublic I can see that happening
Where are the tankers ? Lol
Siakam 189mil for 4 years, ( 47mil a year) 13 points ,Raptors- 2 Siakam/Pacers- 0 this season ,no thanks. PS.

Wow, that seemed a bit much. Obviously, you're a big supporter of RJ, but I do believe he gets plenty of coverage .

So you're new here or you wouldn't think this. He even wrote about RJ a few days ago. Man you casuals just say anything with little to no merit.
You see what you wan5 to see. RJ gets plenty of coverage in local media
