Intensive System Beef Cattle Farming in Israel

Beef cattle farming in Israel is more of intensive system of production. Here, cattle are fattened to meet the beef demand. They are mostly fed with rich concentrate sourced from cereals, legumes, vitamins, minerals etc. This system of rearing animals help the cattle to make good use of the energy and protein consumed. Animals reared extensively need more time to reach marketable weight as they use much energy in walking for their feed.

According to the FAO, with the combination roof/open yard system, 1.5-2 m2 of covered area per animal is adequate, and where the area is fully roofed, the standard figure is 3.5-4m2 per animal. 10 acres contain over 40,000 sqm space.
