In Val Venegia with snowshoes to the Cima del Lago

Very nice winter hike, because it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pale di San Martino Group.
We are located in one of the most beautiful valleys in Trentino: Val Venegia. The itinerary we propose is on the orographic right side of the valley, so when we reach our destination, the Cima del Lago, we will have a spectacular 360 ° panorama. The climb is not difficult: we did the summer route, because the snow conditions allowed it. On the way back we wanted to change direction, lengthening the route and passing through the Venegiota hut. The result was a nice loop ride. I forgot the Cima del Lago is also called Cima Caladora.
ITINERARY
From the car park at Pian dei Casoni (1690 m) go up the forest road to Malga Venegia (1778 m). Here you go up taking the R17 path or the unmarked winter route. The first section is in the woods and then on grassy slopes you reach the Cima del Lago (2313 m). Return: as you descend you move to the left until you find path 749 which leads to Malga Venegiota (1824 m). Now we return to the starting point for the forest road.
