Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Faces Bharat NCAP Crash Tests, Awaiting Results vehicle info #vehicleinfo
    ------------------------------
images of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara undergoing Bharat NCAP crash tests have recently surfaced online. These images show the vehicle being tested for both frontal and side impacts.
The Grand Vitara, co-developed with Toyota, is built on Suzuki's Global C platform and shares its design with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
The partnership between Suzuki and Toyota has resulted in several brand-engineered products, including the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Both models have seen significant success in India's compact SUV market. Despite their popularity, neither vehicle had been crash-tested until now.

Although the test results are not yet available, the leaked images suggest that the Grand Vitara performed well in absorbing frontal impacts. The vehicle also showed minimal intrusion into passenger space during impact and pole tests. However, it is important to note that Maruti Suzuki does not offer six airbags as standard across all variants of the Grand Vitara.
For different tests, different variants of the vehicle were used. A six-airbag-equipped model was used for the pole test, while a lower variant was used for the side impact test with a mobile deformable barrier. This approach highlights variations in safety features across different trims.
    Safety Ratings Speculations
Speculations are rife about the potential safety ratings of the Grand Vitara. Many expect it to achieve at least a four-star rating, similar to the now-discontinued Vitara Brezza. Some even speculate that it could earn a five-star rating, which would make it the first Maruti Suzuki vehicle to achieve such a high score in crash tests.
Rumours also suggest that Tata's upcoming Curvv has passed Bharat NCAP tests with a full five-star rating. Currently, only Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun offer good crash safety performance among compact SUVs. Tata Motors is expected to join this elite group with Curvv soon.
    Future Prospects
The question of whether Maruti Suzuki will ever produce a five-star-rated car remains on many enthusiasts' minds. The upcoming Bharat NCAP ratings for the Grand Vitara will provide some answers. Since the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder shares its design with the Grand Vitara, it is expected to receive similar ratings.
The anticipation surrounding these ratings reflects growing consumer interest in vehicle safety standards in India. As more manufacturers aim for higher safety ratings, it sets a positive trend for future automotive developments in the country.
