I was lucky enough to find out my in-law had a mugen si he was the second owner and sold it to me. I’m the 3rd owner 96k miles on it, all original so it’s nice to see they’re still some out there.

dont worry about the condenser ive opened ac systems and had them open for 2 days as long as you pull a VERY good vacuum you ac will work better then before i usually add the max amount of freon the car says it can take and 1oz of dye and usually pull vacuum for 10 mins

I am going to make my FG2 AWD. I have collected most of the parts and am going to start on the trans build this winter. Hard part is definitely figuring out the steering rack.

I remember it like it was yesterday when our one and only Mugen rolled off the truck and into the showroom. I remember the tech that did the PDI and his ear to ear grin having the honor of doing so. If you happened across the state line to buy yours, you may have the exact one I'm referencing! Thank you for keeping this car in the state it's in for as long as you have and very much looking forward to this project.

Dude your amazing, I just bought an 8th gen si (came from evos) and there isn’t any info about awd swapping these cars, I plan on doing an awd swap so I’m hoping your videos relieve some stress😅
Josh, trust me on this one, get a hybrid racing master cylinder and slave cylinder for the clutch, to avoid all of the grinding and lockout problems with K series trans and the factory delay valves. 218 k on my fg2, and I can flat shift it all day.

Sick build 👀 the ej25 is a really a terrible motor for high hp. I guess if you're into dumping $30K just into your motor, turbo setup, and fuel system for about 500 hp then do you. Turned in the Sti for a bmw M4 competition 450hp stock, not disappointed.
The EJ25 is a great engine, it’ll be hard to convince me otherwise seeing we have the more records than any else in that platform. 1000+whp on a 100% factory engine at 60psi of boost is impressive regardless.
6:15 Me rn… lol. Got a k24a as well, was planning to build it for 1000 incase I ever wanted to go further, but was planning to stay around 500-600, because anything more realistically, imo, needs to be AWD, which I do want to do on a hatch though 😅

8th gen sedans give me the same vibe as the narrow body WRX.
It's the odd one out of the group and disliked for the aesthetics.
A base 08 wrx, and 08 Civic SI are both fun budget cars.
Nah man ppl love the 8th gen sedans. Its the coupes majority of ppl dont like. Love my coupe tho even if its the ugly stepchild haha

Hey Bader I always enjoy the Honda content! I have the 9th gen accord with CVT but do you know if that can be swapped for a normal auto to bolt up to my stock K24?
That I’m not sure of but seeing how often the k series engine is swapped it’s very possible someone make an adapter plate or can make one for you.

I so badly want to do an awd swap on my civic si and there has been like no good videos on it till now
If I showed up to a shop with all the parts(including fuel tank and fuel system), how much are shops charging these days for labor to install an AWD kit? For comparison, I paid $1800 in 2017 for labor to fully AWD my Dc5, and it took them 3 days(not sure how many hours they spent exactly over those 3 days). It kinda scares me to think how much motorsports shops are charging these days... I just got another dc5 rolling shell and I want to AWD swap it, but Im not trying to pay $5,000 in labor. I have such a small, crap garage for working on my car, but I may have to bite the bullet and do it myself if labor costs are too high.
1800 sounds super cheap even back in 2017 . That was a great deal. Hoping to awd my 8th gen coupe one of these days the same path you are heading. Good luck man and would appreciate some updates on your build bro!

@@oleyeller3256 Believe it or not, $1500-2000 was pretty much the standard rate back then. Obviously, it was $1800 just for labor. I paid for all the parts. AWDing these cars is pretty Straight forward. When it came to the Dc5, the toughest part was getting the rear hubs and suspension lined up and seated properly. I had a very early S1 Kit back then and used CRV hubs. Luckily for me, the shop I took it to had already AWD swapped 2 DC5's before me so they knew what they were doing. Only took them 3 days to have the kit installed and operational. I also got lucky looking back, because the old AWD Civics(like 2001-2002) from Japan and Europe still had fuel tanks available, and they were a direct bolt-on to the RSX. That probably saved a ton of time, as I was able to use an OEM tank and didnt really have to mess with the fuel system much(the car in Japan and Europe is the AWD Honda Ferio which was our 7th Gen Civic in the US). You can still find these gas tanks, but most of them are coming out of Russia or China now, so shipping it here is a pain.
@@oleyeller3256 The part # for the AWD gas tank is 17500-SR7-J31 if you can find one. They will likely fit an 8th gen as well. They are like $30 from Russia now, but again, good luck getting it shipped... lol

Cmon Josh you know you’re gonna sleeve it, just do it for reliability purposes and be at peace of mind
He only needs sleeves if he is going above 800whp realistically. K24's dont need as much boost, and K's rarely have cylinder wall failures. K's are not like B series. Very strong engines. K's are much more known for their cylinder head(valvetrain) issues at higher powers.
