The reason either side make a deal is because their not sure by what the evidence is presented what the jury might do. If the prosecution had a smoking blik there would be no deal and they would gladly take it to trial. As Rocky’s lawyers feel, because they get all the evidence in discovery, that there’s not enough for conviction and opted not to take the deal.

The case went away once he became President. People who have lots and lots of money "get off" easy. Not everyone who is wealthy "gets off" but money definitely talks.
NEVER plead guilty to something you did not do. I don't care how "sweet" the deal is or appears to be. I'm a post-conviction attorney, and I have tons of clients who regret taking deals after their defense attorneys convinced them to take plea deals because of how much prison time they were facing. My clients are sitting in prison asking for help now, but it is very difficult to help them because they PLED GUILTY. Once you plead guilty, there is no going back; the barriers to getting relief are nearly insurmountable in our so-called legal system. I cannot emphasize this enough: NEVER plead guilty if you are innocent.

The police did a thorough search of the area and also could not find any casings but the guy accusing him walks into the police station days later with casings in his hands saying he found them himself. Also the only injury from the so called shooting is that the victims knuckles were grazed. Grazing that legit looks like anyone can get from scraping their hands against any rough surface

This is the oldest trick in the prosecutor playbook, they threaten decades, to get you to plead out. Anyone willing to risk trial with potential decades on the line is because they’re likely innocent. As a rapper he can wear those months on his jacket and still get work, it’s unfortunately common for innocent men with no money for trial teams, that usually plead out. Obviously not everyone is innocent but the justice system has overwhelmingly eaten up countless innocent men using plea deals, false confessions, coercion, and violating their due process.

But that’s the thing, most of these people talking about it, only see the 180 days. They don’t see the 3 years probation & 7 years post prison supervision, which is actually is what it sounds like. If he was to do anything wrong, gets in a fight, misses a visit with probation, what have you, they take back the probation & he will be serving the 7 years. That’s what a “Post Prison Supervision “ is. It’s a sentence hanging over you, & anything, can affect it & then your serving prison time. It also means, you have over 7 years hanging over your head. They own you, the courts own you in that time. They can make it to where you can’t travel, especially out of the US, it could really mess up his career, his money making abilities, etc. .. If he truly believes he has a chance, that he’s innocent, then I actually think it was smart of him to take it to court. & he’s paying a damn good lawyer, his lawyer wouldn’t have let him do it if there was a fraction amount that he was guilty. … & another thing. Had he taken that deal, it opens up for a civil case. ASAP relli could then file a civil lawsuit for millions, or however much, & has a much better chance at winning the lawsuit & getting that money, if ASAP Rocky admits guilt & takes that deal. .. Given that it’s a friend and he turned down the deal sounds to me he is innocent. Yeah it’s a long time to get should he not be believed though. He’s got a family and must be confident to turn down. But that’s the thing, most of these people talking about it, only see the 180 days. They don’t see the 3 years probation & 7 years post prison supervision, which is actually is what it sounds like.
If he was to do anything wrong, gets in a fight, misses a visit with probation, what have you, they take back the probation & he will be serving the 7 years.
That’s what a “Post Prison Supervision “ is. It’s a sentence hanging over you, & anything, can affect it & then your serving prison time.
It also means, you have over 7 years hanging over your head. They own you, the courts own you in that time.
They can make it to where you can’t travel, especially out of the US, it could really mess up his career, his money making abilities, etc.

If he truly believes he has a chance, that he’s innocent, then I actually think it was smart of him to take it to court. & he’s paying a damn good lawyer, his lawyer wouldn’t have let him do it if there was a fraction amount that he was guilty.

Given that it’s a friend and he turned down the deal sounds to me he is innocent. Yeah it’s a long time to get should he not be believed though. He’s got a family and must be confident to turn down. It’s says more about the damn system if he goes to prison as an innocent man. He may think that time is no big deal but when you have a family like his and life like his, please, no jail time is acceptable and taking a deal for time not knowing that you could have beaten it is just as bad in my opinion and to get out and be on probation strict rules, breaking any of them would still have you thrown back in prison for something as small as curfew violation. The trap we call it just fir taking a plea because your too scared of the ultimate time you get fir fighting your case?
I hope that any potential clients for Franz sees this and takes into consideration he would encourage them to take a plea, even if they are innocent. Might as well be a public defender. Minimizing any conviction as "just" and "only" is crazy
