Made one of these for my dad's birthday. He loved it. The difference rows came out kind of skewed, so it doesn't look perfect, but this is a good pattern!
I had to use a smaller hook size to pull the loops from the slip stitch when making the star stitch. As a beginner, it was a little challenging, but I'm satisfied with the end result. Thanks for the tutorial!

And I can’t seem to get the end of row 3, the last star stitch right. I keep ending up with an extra stitch.

row 1: single crochet
row 2: slip stitch

row 4: 2 double half crochet in the center of each star
