Let's sign the #FreeStellarBlade petition and cancel our Sony PSN subscription. We need to play CHESS, not checkers. The problem with the folks saying they're boycotting Stellar Blade, is that they will then go buy and play games that follow the cultural guidelines approved by the establishment. Developers are watching this Stellar Blade drama play out (backlash from both sides) and they're seeing zero incentive to make a game like SB, only to get smeared by the media apparatus, censored by the machine, and ultimately boycotted by the players. And so developers are going to make sure they instead make games that will get praised by the media like Hades and Baldurs Gate, or innocuous games like Candy Crush that play it safe and don't trigger western sensibilities. At the end of the day, even with the forced censorship, SB is still the most counter culture game today, and journalists want it to fail- no, they NEED it to fail to serve as validation for their credentials. They will then lord it over the gaming community and use it as a cautionary tale that this is what happens when you go against their recommendations

"Hard R" is not the same as naming the shop "N****R" and I am starting to see that the censorship in these games is unnecessary, even if minor, but as someone who is BLACK and wants to go to college to produce video games (which there will be some content that will upset certain people) I do not want to censor a number of my characters (such as with their removal which would change the story elements too much) or some of the dialogue I want to be in my games. I would be open to take a M for mature rating for some of my games just to keep that content in the game, and then add more adult content to justify that rating. I don't want to cut corners (or allow people to force me to remove content).

I find it hard to understand why we see fewer 'woke' activists scrutinizing and demanding changes in other forms of art like movies and series, compared to games. Why is their focus so heavily on games?
I believe the reason lies in the marketing strategies of the gaming industry. The promotional campaigns for games are incredibly extensive, showcasing a wealth of content, while other forms of art often only release a few scenes or a brief trailer. The gaming industry garners more attention because it reveals more, releasing numerous videos, insights, and in-house creative concepts.
In contrast, other art forms that are not games can generate substantial revenue with just one or two trailers. Critiques usually come after the release when people have watched the content, and at that point, it's impossible to make changes.
The gaming industry needs to adapt its approach to better protect itself from such criticisms like the others already does and works perfectly, even a Season of series is criticize by those activists that Season already is airing, it will need to change only the next season IF the authors thinks it need to be change.

There is no proof that Sony did anything to censore Stellar Blade. 'Shift Up' made no announcement about the changes to the game before launch, nothing was said until people noticed.. they even mentioned that it was the final design they intended for the outfit! I guarantee if they weren't exclusive to Sony, the game would be the same on every platform. Did anyone notice they intended the game to be rated (M)??? If its not rated (AO) its censored.
I doubt Sony downloaded unreal engine 5 and added assets into the game before releasing it on their platform 😂

I’m not worried about the Hard R thing. Fact is there is a point to be made with the outfit adjustments and the obvious censorship when you advertise uncensored. There is a principle. Did I buy the game? Yes. Is the game outstanding? In my opinion, yes. But I bought the disc based version because I wanted to play the uncensored version. Not gonna make Shift up suffer for Sony’s BS. Hopefully the petition fixes it but honestly kinda doubt it.
