Yes was just about to add Holden VL's and the epic battle Nissan and the Ford Sierra's had. Best example is the 1992: ruclips.net/video/YJrj0LLurhA/видео.html First time I'd seen in car camera's that turned sideways, some great side by side racing from in the car! This is turbo country! 180mph on con rod straight! :)
Great video! A cool topic to delve into. Thank you for following up with my post on HRW. Also an alternative to racing cars with podded chassis against cars without, is to tightened the pods to mimic unpodded chassis. Which is most likely the avenue that our Club will go.
Good to know...... I'm and IMSA fan! So current models etc. www.imsa.com ( International Mortorsports Association )......... They race all over America and one can wonder around in the pits if you really want the details!!!!!! Great vid. Thanks..... Go to a race and see!!!!!!! Oh and need I mention the 24 hrs. of Daytona coming up soon.......?????? Njoy!
I've shot a lot of IMSA races. I'm a racing fan and a photographer as well as I've worked for slot companies for more than 10 years and I've done a lot of IMSA based slot cars. Thanks for watching!
The Nissan Skyline R32 is not a DTM, but is a GR.3 car. What we (Slot.it) said is that as it raced against the Mercedes 190 DTM in 1991 in Macau, we consider that it can be also raced together with our other DTM models. The R32 dominated the 1990 race, and for 1991 it was penalized with ballast while the European cars were allowed to race according to DTM specs. Well Dave, this also means that you could race the Slot.it DTMs against the Skyline - outside Macau , maybe not prototypical but at least in chassis/motor arrangement, it should be competitive and 'close enough'' (and there was a Mustang in the DTM in Europe!!) The Petrolpics wonderful DTM Book has all of this info - albeit in German --but the pictures are in English ---!!!
We race the skyline with slot it dtm cars. As per test that has been done at the club times are very competitive. All dtm cars that slot.it has released have been amazing. And extremely fun to run on wood. We glue and true NSR tires and run what she brung.
@@darkcase123 They do make AWD kits, but I think there has to be mounting points on the chassis for the guide and tension point. I will report back in the next couple of weeks when I pick one of these cars up!
I've thought about it honestly. If they come out with the HKS livery I'll have a reason to buy another one (pre-ordered the Calsonic livery) then I'll have to give it a shot.
The Mustang is available as a resin body direct copy of the snaptite with a hard roof in New Zealand , Made by a well known body manufacturer who sells all over, I have the snaptite kit body turned into a slot car , Its what was run in Bathurst Australia , The Skyline ran against Holdens and Fords in Bathurst as well....
@slot car news official Hi I have a question. I just bought a slot.it porsche 962C Mizuno, and noticed that the guide does not rotate smooth and freely as my other 3 slot cars due to the wires binding it. Does this affect performance? I tried to give more wire to move and tried to pull it back a bit but its the same
It is rwd. Damn, for all thoose moneys they could have added the 4wd tranny. It is not a scale model, it must be played, for half the price I buy the Tamiya 1/24 static and full of details that I can enjoy while drinking a tea
I love your videos, Dave. However, you don’t really make a compelling argument here for most of these candidates. Why not dive into the race history and see what the Skyline’s competitors were in DTM? JGTC isn’t DTM.
They also raced with the Aussie touring cars. So Holden and Ford V8s.
Including winning the championship and Bathurst.

Thanks for the intro to shapeways!
No problem!

thanks for this reply Maurizio. I look forward to all these Skylines!

I love the new Skyline - has anyone mentioned converting it to 4WD?
no one that i've heard of
No but surely it wouldn’t be hard, I have 2 AWD cars

The natural competitors to rhe Skyline that you strangely didn't mention are the Slot it Alfa 155 and Mercedes 190.
I did mention they are part of the Slot It DTM series, so that's implied.

Thanks for the info Dave. DTM Class has always been a mystery to me.
Racingsportscar is so much fun..google a race and just see what ran

have you removed it to see if there is any extra plastic around the guide post?
@@SlotCarNewsOfficial no I have not, I’m new to this let me try
i really think its just the wires
Could you make a video of why The PCR chassis failed?
I'm jealous of the Pennzoil Zexel Skyline. Seems anything from the JGTC is hard to come by.

Im in sweden but I could 3d print a chassis for that foxbody, if I could get an underpan scan of The car with a ryker next to it

My argument was for timeframe with these cars, all of which are appropriate for a GT based car during the 1990 +/-2 years from this 1990 livery/car.
@@SlotCarNewsOfficial you nailed the timeframe for sure. Thanks for promoting our hobby, Dave.
