Fun Fact about S44: Among a ton of amazing features and gameplay mechanics, one overlooked thing? Being able to run or move THROUGH hedgerows and larger, thicker, foliage. The more you know ✨✨✨
Hope they add other island battles like Guadalcanal, Peleliu, Tarawa, and Okinawa. Feel like The Pacific theater has been a little neglected in more recent WW2 shooters. Looks pretty dope though.

I agree with you that the sound design in Squad 44 really enhances the gameplay. It makes the game so much more immersive, makes a big difference in the feel. In Hell Let Loose, especially the weapons, all kind of sound the same, a distinct thud with no high frequency. It feels lackluster in comparison. I appreciate your video here, I can't wait to play.
@@OlderThanAverageGamer I'm glad everybody had so much fun with Iwo Jima. I've spent years hoping for a map for Iwo that was full scale, and we finally have one. I'll be playing this game a long time to come when the Pacific goes live next year. The wait is going to be rough 😣 Beautiful channel by the way my friend 💯
@@OlderThanAverageGamer Definitely! Hope you have an awesome Christmas, and I'll maybe see you out on the battlefield when it goes live or maybe even before! 😁
S44 desperately needs to iron out much of the "janky-ness" that seems to plague it... it really is fantastic but equally infuriating at times with some of its quirks and bugs. With that said, I am so thankful they are pursuing the Pacific Theater and continuing to add to this game!
It's so weird how Post Scriptum/Squad 44 players readily state they enjoy the game and also Hell Let Loose, while HLL players non stop hate on and trash PS/Squad 44. Must be some bizarre insecurity thing. Or maybe the HLL player base tends to be very young.
All i see are videos of squad players saying its so much better then HLL. After watching a lot of gameplay of squad i just don’t see it. Just my opinion
This game, despite now being developed by the same studio as Squad, is still less of sim than even Squad. So, I think that's the main reason weapon handling in general is easier in S44. Squad's last patch/update really toned down their weapon attributes though
I tried Squad. Didn't like not seeing friendly markers and killing team mates. I should be able to enable the marker if I choose. Not happy this is not an option.
That's just kind of part of the game style. There's technically friendly icons but you have to be certain distances before you see them. Forcing people to be more aware of what both teams look like can definitely be a challenge but, I would argue it also adds another level of immersion and heightened tension
I feel like they could probably tweak it pretty easy but overall, it was pretty good in there. You could probably hear a bit too much of the surrounding area but, that may be intentional too
Hey look, its a small group of soldiers scattered around a big island fighting, just like I remember in the history books... oh wait... / Maps are too big, it doenst feel like war at all. They were thousands of mens fighting on these islands, with artillery landing everywhere. These games are never going to achieve the feel of being in a big war if they keep pushing these gigantic maps that serves no purposes. Red Orchestra 2 did it best.

Call me Alex Jones, but people do know this game is dead? Right? It is the most listened to community and updated game that only sees an average of ~500 daily players, with obvious spikes during updates and when cringe RUclipsrs try to hype this up. Yes. It is a fantastic game, but if this game doesn't peak at HLL daily numbers (5K+), I don't really see it kicking off on a scale equivalent to HLL. I'm curious how they will try to capture the audience from other games? For example, these mechanics like drinking water, and unnecessary nuanced details might turn people away. That is why HLL is still a very successful and played game, despite it's minimal output. It's a game that is simple and accessible for the average FPSer's out there. We shall see....
its sad, but i agree. HLL is perfect for anyone that wants to move into milsim type games and away from cod and battlefield. squad 44 just isnt that accessible
@CrispyBreadcrust It's more accessible than anything else BEYOND, Hell Let Loose. Hell Let Loose is the crossover, test the waters, to see if you might like Milsim. But, Squad 44 is easier to understand than Squad and Arma (which are really the only two other remotely similar titles)..
Hell Let Loose is definitely easier to play and just jump right into. This is like, the next step closer to milsim. To be fair to S44, their player numbers have actually seen growth since the OWI purchase and even more since the initial announcement of the Pacific theatre. I had just looked at steam charts earlier today and I think that daily player number you've got (while accurate at one time) is a little outdated. 2k concurrent yesterday morning while the play test was still active, mind you. They also have had a large 30avg bump. Their constant updates have done the job, albeit a little slowly, of repairing and revitalizing. I think the real goal here isn't to compete with HLL because as you mentioned, they're vastly different experiences. And while it may take til the end of the coming year, I actually do think this game can find 1-2k average mark. HLL is a 2.5k average game currently so, I don't think it's as crazy a thought as it may have been a year or two ago.
I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention one thing... This isn't the kind of game anyone is trying to hype up because there's almost nothing in it for anyone but, about 3-4 guys. OWI doesn't have that many sponsored creators, compared to other studios at least. Everyone else just genuinely likes the game and wants to see it given a chance to be where it deserves .

Three confirmed maps will start out S44's Pacific Theatre. Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal and one yet named
It has to be Peleliu and Okinawa. The other islands are way too small and would be easy to spawn camp the enemy with tanks etc
@@tonyweaver2353 Okinawa feels like an obvious choice but, I would not be surprised if it was Peleliu.
