This concept is really clever and forward-thinking. It is a shame that it has been shaded by this unfortunate subscription blunder. I hope WAVES will go into the right direction from there.
The concept was not the issue and I get why it needed to be subscription-based. The issue was making the entire Waves catalogue subscription-only, seemingly disregarding those who may not want to use the service, let alone join a subscription. Once again, I'm glad Waves listened to the customers and adjusted it (to where they could have doubled down on it and make it worse). But I think that Waves should have done some inquiries into whether the existing customer base would have gone along with the model or have them share their thoughts concerning subscriptions. Honestly, I think it's intriguing. I don't know if I personally want to pursue it, but I can definitely see it being useful for the reasons you've mentioned. I can also see this being useful if it can expand to include non-Waves yet third party plugins as part of the chains. (Using DAW stock plugins would probably not be feasible, yet it could be revealing just for educational purposes.) I myself have created chains that mixed companies.
Yeah I agree on all points. The chains include plugins and its not developer limited at all. At this point, its basically Waves only. We'll see how it develops in the future.
I stopped supporting a company that does that kind of crap movements, even if they went back to sell individual licenses, they didn’t come back because they wanted to do it, the did it because they were (psychologically and future business) forced by all the mass of people throwing 💩. So no thx, not a single buck for this company again (at least from me)
Llevo una semana de suscripción y me encanta. Puedo dedicarle mucho más tiempo a la música y todo lo que necesito lo tengo rápido. Yo lo recomiendo. Gracias por tu video y saludos desde España.
I'm not a big fan of the AI stuff that's been sold recently, especially a lot of the unison stuff. It could allow anyone with little to no talent to push a few buttons and let a plugin make the entire song for you. It's like a slap in the face of those that put a lot of time and effort into learning their craft. That being said, I accidentally bought the studioverse sub thinking that I was reactivating a bundle that I used in the past. I decided to try it and, I must admit, the plugin chains that I scrolled through was enhancing the sound and texture of my tracks in ways that I never would have accomplished on my own. And it's all done nearly instantly. So, studioverse gets a major plus in my book.🔥💯
Yeah, we need to see how all this AI stuff develops, everyone is on it right now( i.e. AI BROS). It has its merits of course like you mentioned with the chains actually being good ^^ We'll see.
Great video, Question? What happens to my Studioverse presets used in my songs after canceling my subscription? Will those presets still be available? If not, can I save them as a personal preset to still use in my songs?
The presets will still be there but they won't work until you resubscribe. I would get around that by bouncing everything to a new track while still subscribed so the effects would be built into the new audio clip. Be advised though, bouncing to a new track makes the effects destructive, or permanent, to the audio clip and may not be able to be changed after you log off if that's the route you take.
Just tried it. Is there a way to set it that it only shows you plugins chains that uses only the plugins that you own? That would be more effective. Does a good job now but it can do better.
No, if you look at how Studiorack worked before that terrible subscription only idea, you could see that in the presets there were already those preset chains. And if some were missing, you had to buy them. Right now it’s both subscription and buy, and obviously it was first meant for subscription only, but we know how that went. Right now, you can buy the missing plugins or go subscriptions, whichever fancies you.
I've been doing a little research about Studioverse and i was trying to find ways to possibly make the plugin better and improve it's workflow. Anyone has any ideas?
I don't know if i'm doing something wrong, but I can't seem to activate studio rack. I go into Waves Central and found it in all products, but after installing it, it doesn't show up under my products and isn't in my licenses.
I don't own all waves plugins(but very many) so studio rack/verse is useless for me because it always a plugin or two missing when I load these different plugin chains.
Supposedly you can get a subscription, use it for a month or two, then the plugins you owned before starting the subscription, you still own and can use... I'm curious if they force you to download all the plugins in the subscription or can you choose which you want to download?
After the trial expires you can continue using it, but the plugin will silence every now and then. The subscription is as far as I can see one package, which means it installs all plugins which are in the subscription. But I might be wrong.
@@audiotoolshed loading all the plugins would suck. That means you have to download everything even if you don't want to use them all! At least East West allows you to buy a hard drive of all their plugins instead. They have subscription too.
Yeah i'm not sure. I'm used to install whatever I want too with for instance Plugin Alliance or UAD. it would make sense to have it every plugin seperated in the install.
If you donate a m1 studio to me I can check ;-) Studiorack is virtually limitless numbers, the plugins will determine how many chains you can load. There’s cpu load mentioned for every chain on the site.
@@audiotoolshed if i make a hit we can speak about the m1 or m2, m3:-) i had aproblem with a session in logic importing audiotrack into this session and after 12 instances the cpu was about 75% , buffer at 1024, and then the machine was chrashing,.... on my intel i9 imac another session with nearly 30 instances no problem and cpu about 30%,....
Meh. It’ll just create even more bad mixes I think. People think mixing is easy. Personality in a mix comes from all the all moves and ideas when you try to balance and create a vibe.
What are your thoughts on waves studioverse?
nah bro
Nothing to be honest :) I left Waves "ecosystem" :)
Says there are thousands of presets but options seem limited. For hip hop they have like 10 vocal plugins
I actually love the idea of Multiband for any plugin!
They sound great, but after canceling your subscription will the preset still be available in your songs?
This concept is really clever and forward-thinking. It is a shame that it has been shaded by this unfortunate subscription blunder. I hope WAVES will go into the right direction from there.

just from an educational point of view - this is fantastic.

That seems a little too unforgiving. If they heard the complaints of the customer and unmade the decision, then why not accept that?
Great vid. I am actually excited to try it.
Hope you enjoy it!

I would say the presets are not deleted, wouldnt make sense. But I do not know what actually happens.

Waves should have included the plugins with the StudioVerse subscription. Cancel the subscription, lose the plugins. Simple.
