If you're talking about the ability where you use 3 rear guard to get +10k. The Kagero player guarded with a card that nullifies the attack when he discards a card.
As the Kagero player in the video, I'll say two things. One: This was the first game played in the store with that clan, period, and there was a lot of improper builds. Two, as such he was more interested in using Phantom Blaster Dragons skill (TWICE) for fun than to win the game at this point. The person in question is actually a very lethal Shadow Paladin player, and if I were to be building a SP deck, I'd take his advice in a heartbeat.
Stand up the vanguard!!!! Update: 30/11/2021 I have gotten into vanguard and made new friends playing it it is a game that lets you connect with others 😁
Same to be honest , I just built my new deck today after getting back into it, I have yet to face anyone as I'm still trying to understand my duck's abilities haha
I am using the kagero trail deck and am planning on boosting it I plan on boosting it with an aleph combo as well as the amber dragon ride chain combo I'm asking to see if any one can give me any advice to if this is a bad idea it would be apriciated
If your just playing for fun then I don't see it being a problem as with aleph you wouldn't need Bellicosity Dragon. So you could go 4x Perfect Guard(Which ever one you prefer), 4x Amber Dragon Dawn, 4x Embodiment of Armor, Bahr, 2x Demonic Dragon Mage, Kimnara for grade 1. 4x Dragon Knight, Aleph, 3x Berserk Dragon, 4x Amber Dragon Dusk for grade 2. That leaves you 8 spaces for Grade 3 so you go 3x, 3x, and then 2x of something else if you wanted or just 4x Aleph and 4x Eclipse. Just try to keep away from people who copy the tournament winning decks cause its no fun to play the people who play to win.
no matter what the situation when u draw a heal trigger from a damage check or drive check you can heal 1 damage and add 5000 attack power to any of your front units
The shadow paladin player made his mistake when he attacked with his vanguard first. He should attacked with his rearguard so when he got the Stan he could've had an extra attack and he could've won then and there.
I've watched this card fight a TON of times and the one thing I've always question: They using the Japanese or English cards? The banter is great and the laid back nature of this card game is what draws me so much and makes me wish I knew more people who played the game
Imagine if there was a dueling network version of vanguard. Noobs would call grade 3 units to the rearguard without having a grade 3 in the vanguard circle.
They're most likely not playing at anyone's house. Most of these videos come from Locals tournaments. People play matches between rounds, which are occasionally recorded for RUclips. In fact, the description actually says where this was recorded, if you read it.
No offense but I hate it whenever I find people playing a card game there is always loud anoyying background noise to the point we can't here the players and is very stupid just saying
Kagero Guy : I ride.... Sub-manager!! SP Guy : His attack is 0 and is not A kagero unit Kagero Guy : Well Duhh, Thats why you need to chase him away SP Guy : Stupid.....
sup people well i wanna start playin vanguard :D but i simply cannot decide which trial deck to buy XD nad i dunno any recommendation or something on some deck ideas
What kind of deck would you recommend for someone like me who is very interested in this game and wants to start playing? I was planning to get the Holy Paladins because there is a structure deck for them and i don't have a lot of money. are they any good for a beginner?
yea i like it how it has the same rules in the show and in real life not like yugio but i have played many tgc games like pokemon, overpower, heroclix, VS. this is more injoyable so far probly just nicer people too where i go.
They had the same amount of damage, it was just off camera. Both had 5. Anyway, please tell me about the misplays you caught. I've been seeing too many people yell "misplay" yet they (almost) never back it up.
I'm sorry, but I'm going to be "that guy". I hate both of these players, their play styles suck, and their deck making is just as bad. With a set 4 ride chain, you only need 2 of the Grade 2's since it's a guarantee if you ride the one, second, he didn't HAVE to use PBD's skill twice, he would've used Barri anyway if he kept his normal pressure up. The SP play should know that if you run Stand, don't attack with your Vanguard first. This game gave me cancer.
No offense but the shadow paladin paladin player makes mistake when he did the counterblast... He should he sacrificed Gururubau, Kadbah Kaa, and Dark Metal Dragon instead... and not counter blast 2 times in a row. Always assume the opponent has a Perfect Defense in hand... From then on, he went and commit the second counterblast which killed his chances of winning...
nice game!!! cant wait til it is released in the us unfortunately we would have to wait til middle to end of next year to start getting the shadow paladins =( but still cant wait regardless to make an shadow paladin deck & hope that they come out with an shadow paladin version of King of Knights, Alfred (if they ever will) lol
Noob Shadow Paladin User!! U shouldn't of have Counterblast 2 two times... You should of have saved your critical and 10k for the other turn.. If I was the Shadow Paladin user I would put setting and I would superior ride - PHANTOM BLASTER OVERLORD! Persona Blasta!!!!!!!!
it's funny you just reasoned as im am currently watching the show for vanguard because people said it was a good way to learn, and i'm going to get cards and make that think tank deck, but i also play yu gi oh and magic so i guess im just a sucker for card games lol
I live in BC, in Vancouver, and I know countless shops that sell Vanguard. I've got a Spike Brothers deck, and in the process of building my Gold Paladin and Angel Feather decks. My brother has Kagero, and I'm not too sure what he'll be building afterwards. Maybe Nova Grapplers.
Didn't the shadow paladin player misplay when the kagero player attacked blaster dark with the 9000 power rearguard? I thought blaster dark gained +1000 when blaster javelin was in the soul, so why did he intercept?
I live in England and NOBODY in the area where i live plays Vanguard. I feel so annoyed because I really want to get cards and make my own deck but any deck i built would sit there, completely unused :(
see wat happens when u posses the wrong deck,u get beatin to a pulp.of course the kagero deck would of one againts a noob like him he doesn't understand the power the shadow paladins deck.
@lulukg101 yes, the shadow paladin deck is from a booster set as its not a trial deck and that time, the english version of eclipse of illusionary shadows booster set is not released yet
i don't really know of anyone where i am but im going to try to get my magic buddies to play...the ones who play yu gi oh said no, they wont even give it a chance
@ming449 points? Oh, is that something specific to that card shop? I meant more of an online source maybe, because sady, I don't have any card shops around
I recently got into vanguard and I have to say watching this video made me glad I did. It was awesome!!!
How the hell do you play this game?
that sucks you don't know how to play this game you suck😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😂
@@sooyoung9850 this comment is like 8 years old he already knows how to play the damn game you idiot
I love how he saw him drive Barri but still c/b'd PBD twice. Clearly quite attentive.
that guy doesn't know have to play Shadow paladin. you know he has a perfect guard and you used phantom blaster dragon twice. what a waste
YES
If you're talking about the ability where you use 3 rear guard to get +10k. The Kagero player guarded with a card that nullifies the attack when he discards a card.
the shadow paladin player is amazing even though he lose the fight i want to have a cardfight with him someday
I love how excited these guys are to be dueling, makes the video so much better
Stand up the vanguard!!!!
Update: 30/11/2021
I have gotten into vanguard and made new friends playing it it is a game that lets you connect with others 😁
Same to be honest , I just built my new deck today after getting back into it, I have yet to face anyone as I'm still trying to understand my duck's abilities haha
You can just look for a nearby card shop, or anime shop even. They'll generally have shipments of Cardfight! Vanguard.
I fucking lost it when he said "Winning the game was an interrupt"
Good old days
I am using the kagero trail deck and am planning on boosting it I plan on boosting it with an aleph combo as well as the amber dragon ride chain combo I'm asking to see if any one can give me any advice to if this is a bad idea it would be apriciated

love to watch the very old stuff, well old in vanguards terms
But that's what makes gold paladin powerful is the fact that they have all these ability's.
no matter what the situation when u draw a heal trigger from a damage check or drive check you can heal 1 damage and add 5000 attack power to any of your front units
The shadow paladin player made his mistake when he attacked with his vanguard first. He should attacked with his rearguard so when he got the Stan he could've had an extra attack and he could've won then and there.
Ya it was so close that choice he made with attacking with his vanguard first coat him the game. GG though
"It's a good thing I'm shuffling cuz everyday.. I'm shufflin'"
I've watched this card fight a TON of times and the one thing I've always question:
They using the Japanese or English cards?
The banter is great and the laid back nature of this card game is what draws me so much and makes me wish I knew more people who played the game
Same here
They’re playing with Japanese cards. This was the Japanese release for BT04
Imagine if there was a dueling network version of vanguard. Noobs would call grade 3 units to the rearguard without having a grade 3 in the vanguard circle.
Can someone make a video without loads of people in their house!?!!
Soon on my channel im recording Vanguard without people in the background and my own commentary and music on it
For that my freind. You just got a sub :)
They're most likely not playing at anyone's house. Most of these videos come from Locals tournaments. People play matches between rounds, which are occasionally recorded for RUclips.
In fact, the description actually says where this was recorded, if you read it.
+Brandon Dodds it has been a year, where is the video?
Levi Marshall agree
on what days are people usually at hammergirl. may go there. also btw how much is a cloth vanguard mat and do people play english cards there as well?
what happens if u get a crit. from hitting a rear guard with a vanguard
TheKingDragon 159 the crit goes to waste
Can't wait for American release! This got me pumped! lol
Talk about heart of the cards at the end
Where did you get those sleeves for both decks?
twin drive for the win! very nice...gotta start playing this game...
No offense but I hate it whenever I find people playing a card game there is always loud anoyying background noise to the point we can't here the players and is very stupid just saying
You can call grades 3 and 2 in the back row
Stand up the Vanguard! AHHHH! SHING!
Don't murder your comrades when their death was in vain
When you ride a blaster javelin, you call fulbau to the rear. But it won't matter because it's vanguard g now!!
What?
ikr
i so thought he was going to win when he activated the phantom dragons ability a second time XD
Kagero Guy : I ride.... Sub-manager!!
SP Guy : His attack is 0 and is not
A kagero unit
Kagero Guy : Well Duhh, Thats why you need to chase him away
SP Guy : Stupid.....
the Kagero player drive checks a perfect guard and the Shadow Paladin player proceeds to bank PBD's effect twice in the same turn...
Did any one else here Tristan Taylor say "Game over man!"?
I though got two trigger is just posibble in anime 🤣
to my knowledge, when using Shadow Paladin, u never ever use Phantom Blaster Dragon's counterblast twice, because this happens, good game though :)
the playmat comes with the trial deck
SP dude failed math. It's 22000, not 23000.
Dark Mage 9000 + Charon 8000 + Trigger power 5000 = YOU DO THE MATH.
11 years later, so much have changed. Overdress is the latest format (tho I prefer playing V-Premium & Premium)
dude he shit all over your pbd's skill with that perfect guard!!!!
Man,Shadow Paladins Are Insane!
Thats some funny shit. I've never thought about that.
can u guys tell me the decklist for the kagero?
what box was it???
Man vanguard has come a long way through the years
sup people well i wanna start playin vanguard :D but i simply cannot decide which trial deck to buy XD nad i dunno any recommendation or something on some deck ideas
I think it's called cavalry of black steel which is set nr 6
The Shadow Paladin clan player could've won but he tried to go big...
''Call, flip, call''
''oh baby!'' LOL
What kind of deck would you recommend for someone like me who is very interested in this game and wants to start playing? I was planning to get the Holy Paladins because there is a structure deck for them and i don't have a lot of money. are they any good for a beginner?
Play in a room where there are just the 2 of you if there are other people it makes to much noise and that is seriously ANNOYING irritating 😠 😠😠😠😠
That red vanguard card sleeve looks awesome! I so want them for my Kagero deck :D Where did you get?
ebay
Royal Paladin sorry. it was like 3 am.
yea i like it how it has the same rules in the show and in real life not like yugio but i have played many tgc games like pokemon, overpower, heroclix, VS. this is more injoyable so far probly just nicer people too where i go.
They forgot to superior call their gr0 starter vanguards after riding the correct gr3 card
The stand trigger to add salt to the wound LMAO! Nice game
Nice Play at the end
In his situation he charging lance 2times okay, but he shld have got rid of all 3 babbth cath..why he get rid of his boost..-___-'
You pulled a heal trigger during your twin drive and it should not be activated because you have 4 while your opponent has 5
He didn't have to use PBD skill twice, one crit was enough, and he shouldn't of got rid of Gururubau
LOL Funny match....btw shadow user juz wasted a null ...actually 10k guard is enough....
Just wondering, why would you use Phantom Blaster Dragons effect twice when you saw him get a perfect guard? Just wondering.
LMAO.
That was priceless.
I like how the one dude is all butthurt when you retired his 2 rear guards after the victory. I was laughing
Too many mistakes O_o, btw at the end why did the kagero player heal? The shadow paladin player had way more damage then him?
They had the same amount of damage, it was just off camera. Both had 5. Anyway, please tell me about the misplays you caught. I've been seeing too many people yell "misplay" yet they (almost) never back it up.
You should of abused that draw trigger the turn before u went crazy and saved your percect guard .__.
I like these games better. Where everyone has casual conversations instead of being formal or quiet.
Gold paladin hands down. As they have a Superior ride Superior call and also now have a cross ride.
Both are pretty good decks, but I'll stick to Dark Irregulars and Tachikaze decks. :P

You got Blaster Dark's effect wrong, He kills any grade rear guard not just 2 or lower
What an ending. I barely know how to play but that was some sacky ending.
Didn't the shadow paladin player misplay when the kagero player attacked blaster dark with the 9000 power rearguard? I thought blaster dark gained +1000 when blaster javelin was in the soul, so why did he intercept?
Anyone hear Abridged Tristan at 2:38?
I meant more of an online source maybe, because sady, I don't have any card shops around
no, you only heal if you have equal or more damage than your opponent. if you have less damage you do not heal but you still get the 5000 power.
@metroplex5 its released in English, so you can just buy it online, as for shops in the UK that are selling it, you could ask your local card shop
I understand, I'm the only guy in my city that plays Yu-Gi-Oh and Vanguard, and I wanna get into MtG, but I have no one to play against.
Yea, but sadly it's not in English yet D: nor is there a trial deck T_T
Where on Javelin does it say you can search Blaster Dark? I really don't see it anywhere in the card text. Can someone help?
Nice play by kagero, but i think the shadow one should not have used both of his counterblast,he should have thought that out
Go to the offical site and you can look up tournaments where you live.
well the nearest one to me is like 45 minutes to an hour from my house...ill just see if some of my friends will play lol
I did that w/ Ezel, and i still won, stand triggers for the win!!!!!
man it sucks to be Canadian because there is no store, that I'm aware of, that sells vanguard deck decks or packs
Haters gonna hate. They put it there because it's the designated area. They are just purists. Deal with it, or gtfo.
@knightdlzx in the card effect, it does not said "once per turn", its effect like gancelot so u can as much as u like
lol i have the royal paladin deck and it would be funny if i was dueling the dude with the shadow paladin deck XD
