Thanks for the great content guys! My trading aha moment was when I realized“I’m not gonna survive long in this market unless I strive to learn to trade like an algo at a hedge fund”.
Absolutely love Chris’s comment regarding sizing and speed limits. This is the foundation of risk management. If you go 100 miles/hour into an “orange” light you may expect two results; total destruction and death or the exhilleration of “beating the light”….. I would rather avoid the destruction and death scenario…..
My aha moment is understanding advice my dad once gave me for overcoming any adverse situations, and definitely is something that has helped me get out of the negative feedback loop that can come with bad trading and drawdown… -understand that you’re f*cked -don’t waste time trying to figure out how it happened/who did it bc it always comes down to a decision you made (you vs you) -once that’s all perfectly clear you can figure out how to adapt to unf*ck yourself/the situation and move forward Sang touched on this perfectly a couple weeks ago, really resonated with me and how I’ve been able to grow. Sounds elementary but it’s highly effective.
My biggest aha moment was early on in my learning when I realized that you are supposed to cut your losses and keep your losers small. I was just starting to learn about how real day trading worked, and it was an important realization how losses are guaranteed but should be kept as small as possible.
My “aha” moment is quite boring and perhaps not worth mentioning, but here it goes. “rules matter”, that was my moment.. I “knew” that there were certain anti-patterns in my trading that were killing my P/L, but until I formulated those into “rules” and held myself accountable to them they were meaningless.
I use MVWAP all the time. Wouldn’t say it worked to will in 2023 with the AI explosion and wouldn’t say it works well on Low Floats but short term it has value

My ah moment is when I realized not to be upset when I missed a trade entry today. Tomorrow will have another opportunity
