Great video! I love it! I started watching this just after the other one of the 2.7K notebooks. I hated the cliffhanger, but it worked... now I'm subscribed to see the next one! Cheers!
This video was a rollercoaster of emotion from start to finish. I can tell a lot of work was put into this project and this video. Cant wait for part 2!
The Weaver clicker press is muchhhh nicer for what you're doing. Is there a reason you didn't click directly from the hide? Pre-cutting all of those pieces probably added another 10-20% waste and however many hours to pre-cut. You can get much more accurate cuts straight from the hide.
Thanks for the comment! To be honest, I haven't played around much with cutting from the entire hide, but my main thought is that it would be very big and therefore difficult to work with. While cutting the hide takes extra time, when I can have someone else cutting, it allows me to move much faster and more fluidly on clicking them out. I would love to be able to work with whole hides eventually, though. Do you have any advice on how to best maneuver them?
@@adamkeithschwinn if you back your press from the edge a bit, and have room on either side, you can just slide in your hide. Depending on how “accurate” or fast you need to be, you can cut your hide in half or quarters for easy maneuvering. You can then cut directly from that large piece, and bump your cuts right up next to each other. I like to start with the largest die, then use the offcuts from that to cut smaller pieces and so on. I’ve cut over 100,000 keychains and other assorted leather goods with my weaver press over the last 8 years I’ve had mine.
my jaw dropped and had butterflies in my stomach when I saw the press at 9:52 . I got so excited for you!
Very nice, very nice

They say sequels often disappoint, but in this case it is guaranteed to blow your socks off. Can’t wait for part 2.
