I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.
This is a command. Women try to spin this verse saying it DOESN'T mean women cannot teach men, but it means just what it says. Women are NOT permitted to teach men or to exercise authority over a man.
