After tuning a Small Magnetic Loop Antenna with the ANTENNA controls, NEVER, EVER use the Transceiver INTERNAL antenna tuner. When this is done, the LC circuit in the Antenna is fighting the LC circuit in the Transceiver. It may look good but the circulating currents in both will increase. It gets much worse at high power [100W]. The result is still the same. I will not risk my expensive transceiver.

Totally agree. You defeat the purpose of the high Q match , something is amiss in the demonstration, if the cap is not flawed and the antenna is away from objects at least 3 feet then you should easily get a match. I have owned several loops including the Precise RF loop and getting a match to near 1 to 1 was always easy. 73 Jim

Correct! You should not use the antenna tuner in the transceiver while tuning the HG1.

These units are not waterproof and beware the customer service is non-responsive to documentation requests. If you need to spend $800 then just remember there is no customer service

John, We're sorry you are not satisfied. We've never said that the units are waterproof. The enclosures are not meant to be used in weather conditions that would allow water to penetrate the units. We do offer customer support via our website using the customer support form. Happy to answer additional questions if you have them.
